Gain More Weight?! The Conversation between Lu and Chu

With the help of earth and gold superfunction possessors, the renovation had made impressive progress on day 1. The walls between houses were torn down, the greenhouse in front of Yun Che's house was moved to the lane between two houses, the walls around the four houses were strengthened and heightened. The barbed wire above the two houses in the center was expanded to cover all houses and yards, the steel plates were spliced together underground. The yards at the back of the houses integrated into one, the greenhouse hadn't been built yet because it'd take a bit longer. The groundwork of the animal sheds in the front yard was laid, the walls would be bricked tomorrow. The work should be done in 2 or 3 days, provided there were enough people.

One opening was left for a large iron gate on the front wall, there would also be a wicket attached to one leaf of the gate. The idea was, they would normally walk in and out of the residence through the wicket and through the iron gate if there were vehicles.

"No wonder Che wants to make sure Yun Yao cooks the new rice, it does taste great. The steamed buns made from the new flour also have the strong smell of wheat."

6 pm, two houses gathered together to have dinner other than Chu Haoling who was still holing up in the room. Each grain of the new rice was round and translucent, the mild rice fragrance would infuse one's mouth right away. The steamed buns made from the new flour were better than before, the refreshing smell of wheat was pretty appetitive.

"Right, Che. I'll get fat if I keep eating these."

Although she said so, Zhan Yafei got herself another steamed bun. She couldn't resist them at all.

"You should gain more weight, look how thin you are. The ladies will be cooking these every day."

Zhan Tianlong was happy to hear this. He always thought his daughter was too skinny. Life was hard in the doomsday, but the bright side was, people wouldn't suffer from hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes. People were happy getting a full belly.

"Dad!"

A dad's love could really make the daughter feel awkward. All girls wanted to be pretty, she wouldn't and didn't have time for new dresses or cosmetics, but who would want to be a fat girl?

"I say all of you should be in Chenchen's size so that Mrs. Chen, Yao and I don't have to beat our brains out to feed you up."

Wang Suhua was even blunter. Chenchen drew everybody's attention as he gobbled up the steamed buns. The guys shuddered as soon as they saw his chubby face, plumpy hands and round body. They lost appetite immediately. If they were in Chenchen's size, they might as well name themselves Meatball Squad.

"Mom, so yummy! Great!"

Chenchen, however, was still gorging in a good mood regardless of everyone else's reaction. He took a break and gave his mom a thumbs-up. Yun Yao chuckled, wiped his mouth with the napkin. "Just eat more, then. Your uncle says we'll be eating these steamed buns from now on."

"Yeah, yeah, uncle is the best!"

Chenchen kept nodding his head joyfully and took another bite on the big steamed bun. He successfully brought back everybody's appetite. Jiang Shang the meticulous boyfriend rapidly put two steamed buns in Ye's plate, causing Zhou Zeyu and the other single men to call for justice.

"They do taste good. We'll be eating these starting tomorrow. I'll give the rest rice and flour to you, so your canteen can use them."

Yun Che said to Xing Feng. Everybody was crazy about the rice and steamed buns today rather than the dishes. Perhaps the wolf meat caused too much trouble last night, no one touched any meat on the table. Vegetables were more popular, though.

"Yes. The century egg salad is good. Have some."

Xing Feng got a chuck of century egg with chili pepper into his bowl. He loved hot food, every hot dish that Yun Yao cooked was palatable.

"I'll grab something for Chu."

Lu Haixuan stood up after only eating for a while. People paused and then sighed in silence. The matter had become really sticky.

"I've saved a portion for Haoling. Wait here, I'll fetch it in the kitchen."

Lu's mom put down the chopsticks and walked into the kitchen. She had been informed about what happened between her son and Chu Haoling. She wouldn't have lived with it if it hadn't happened in the doomsday, hell, even if she did, Lu's dad wouldn't. Which parent would want grandchild? How could two men make a baby? But when Lu Haixuan told his mom that he slept with Chu Haoling, she was surprisingly calm, she just approved it with a silent nod. In the doomsday, no one knew how long they could live, family lineage was the least of people's concerns. Instead of falling out with her son for something unrealistic, she might as well let them have it. Yun Che was right about one thing, "having someone with you is good enough, none of the other stuff matters".

"Haixuan, Haoling is childish, don't fight him, try to bear with him, got it?"

Lu's mom soon came back with two thermal food boxes in hand. She instructed her son before he left. Someone needed to be forbearing in a relationship. It wouldn't last long if both were short-tempered.

"OK."

Lu Haixuan didn't explain although he realized that his mother thought they had had feelings for each other for quite a while. He left with the thermal food boxes in hand after giving Yun Che a nod. People watched him leave and sighed. They didn't talk about them seeing as Lu's mother and grandpa were here. But they all hoped they could be together.

After dinner, Leng Yehan took Yun Cheng out for a stroll after knowing no Chaoyang member was injured during the quests in the day. Heiyu tagged along with Chenchen and Xiaobai on his back. Yun Che thought Leng Yehan must be upset. He rarely got to be alone with Cheng, it must be annoying that those guys ruined the mood.

Lu Haixuan knocked once again on the door of one of the rooms on the third floor of Xing Feng's house. "Chu, open up, or I'll come in myself."

A door wouldn't stop a gold superfunction possessor from going in.

"Shoo! I'm sleeping!"

Chu Haoling gruffed in the room. Lu Haixuan, however, was relieved after hearing the reply, which was more energetic than he expected. He spoke again after a brief moment of silence, "Won't you eat something? Che got new rice and flour from his Space, the rice and steamed buns today are perfect. I'm sure you'll love them, my mom saved a portion just for you…"

"Thud!"

Before he even finished, the door was yanked open. A well-dressed man snatched the food boxes from Lu. Right before Chu Haoling slammed the door, Lu Haixuan put one foot in the room. "Chu, let me in."

He had been Yun Che and Zhou Zeyu's mate for a long time, his cheekiness was at the same level as theirs.

"What are you doing in my room? Get out! Don't spoil my appetite."

How could he eat anything with Lu in the room?

Chu Haoling kept the grouchy look on the face. He had been eating chips all day long, hadn't he heard the new rice and flour, he wouldn't have opened the door. All that happened had been clear after he recalled it again and again in the room. The reason why he didn't go out wasn't that he felt shy or something, Chu Haoling would never feel shy. He was just embarrassed. He still couldn't believe someone younger than him screwed him in the butthole.

"Chu, let's talk."

Lu Haixuan put on a serious face, kept the gap open with two hands. Chu Haoling looked him in the eyes and said, "Suit yourself." Then he turned around with the food boxes in hand. Knowing that Chu had softened the attitude, Lu Haixuan smiled. He closed the door after coming in in case of intruders like this morning.

"Where did Che get the rice? It's perfect. And the big steamed buns, they smell so good. I should have gone downstairs for lunch."

Chu Haoling had his feast on the couch, the bad mood was gone. At the end of the day, only food could cure him, even Lu Haixuan's presence became tolerable.

"Yao forgot to cook it at noon. She cooked it for dinner. Slow down, don't choke yourself. Drink some water. Che told us we'll be eating these from now on."

Lu Haixuan poured Chu a glass of water when seeing him chomping the food. Perhaps because of what happened last night, Chu seemed kind of cute to him.

"Cough. Shit, you big mouth, can you shut up?"

Chu Haoling did choke. He gave Lu a glare and gobbled up the water. Lu Haixuan was being nice, but Chu blamed him once what he said did come true, so he chose to pour more glasses of water for him silently.

"So, what do you want to say? If it's about us, then don't say anything. We're adults, last night was an accident, or one night stand if you like. I mean, we both had a good time, right?"

After emptying the food boxes, Chu Haoling kicked back with one hand on the belly. The dinner was satisfying. He looked really cute, like a surfeited cat, but what he said didn't sound cute at all. At least, this was how Lu Haixuan felt.

"Chu, we've known each other for a long time, we know about each other's personalities. Well, kind of. I think you and I both are aware that that wasn't one night stand."

Sitting oppose to Chu, Lu stared Chu in the eyes. His tone was exceptionally serious. Lu Haixuan was neither a flippant guy like Zhou Zeyu nor a sedate man like Leng Yehan. But he wasn't a casual man, he would have thought of it as a one-night thing hadn't Chu been someone else. Lu wasn't sure if he was into Chu because love started to grow in many men after the sex, but he was sure that he wouldn't let Chu go.

"So? Are you suggesting we be together and get married someday?"

Chu Haoling squinted at Lu Haixuan. He neither denied nor accepted what Lu said. If Lu Haixuan was a delicious snack, he would eat him unhesitatingly, but this was a living, grown-ass man. Chu Haoling had never thought about having a relationship in the 20 years of his life, to be precise, he never planned to do so. He hadn't, wasn't, and wouldn't be thinking about it.
