A Million Zombies & The Brute Super Zombie

The Coastal Base was also called the Linhai Base because it was headquartered in Linhai City near the sea. The Southwest Base was between Longmeng Range and Lingjiang River, the coastal cities were more populated, most cities had millions of residents. Before the doomsday, the XXX Army in Hanghai City chose to build the base in Linhai City and they managed to make it as soon as the doomsday befell. At first, they thought it was a wise choice because at least the zombies couldn't swim, but soon, they regretted it. Yes, there weren't zombies in the sea but there were mutant marine lives, for example, washbasin-sized crabs, 1-meter long prawns, boat-sized octopuses. All marine creatures tried to come ashore.

The tsunami caused by the earthquake a few days ago sent all kinds of marine life ashore. The entire Linhai City was nearly overwhelmed by sea beasts. The head of the base Tan Jianting called the Capital Base for help and had his grandson Tan Weiye organize soldiers and superfunction possessors to deal with the sea beasts and protect the civilians. United, the Coastal Base almost slaughtered all the sea beasts in Linhai City, but they were sieged by millions of zombies when the snow stopped. The 70-year-old commander Tan Jianting personally led soldiers to fend off the zombies. A few days later, neither did the Capital Base nor the nearby bases send armies to aid them. Tan Jianting felt like he got 10 years older overnight. When he was out to fight the zombies, his whole arm was chewed off.

After 8 hours, Yun Che's helicopter finally reached the outskirts of Linhai City at 4 pm, but they couldn't advance in the sky anymore because level-3 zombies started to attack them from the ground. Yun Che took a look at the air panel and he was startled. The screen of the air panel was virtually all red, some orange dots were mixed in the redness.

"What?"

Asked Xing Feng when he saw the unusual look on Yun Che's face.

"More than a million zombies."

Yun Che looked Xing Feng in the eyes, his voice was sounded hoarse. There weren't even so many zombies shown on the air panel during their journey to the provincial capital. The Coastal Base was in hot water.

What he said froze the whole crew. A million zombies? They could bury them alive without attacking them! The number was indeed jaw-dropping.

"Jiang Shan, turn back and find a place to land. We'll advance on foot."

There was no way they were going to confront all these zombies, so Xing Feng gave his order. Jiang Shan and Shen Rui had kept the helicopter hovering in the sky, they saw what was going on down there. They took the order and turned back. About 10 minutes later, they were ready to land on a golf course that they just found. Several zombies were wandering down there, Xing Feng had Zhao Gang and Fang Rui kill them before the helicopter landed.

"Chief, will we enter the Coastal Base the old way?"

Chu Haoling asked the serious question that he normally wouldn't ask after Yun Che put the helicopter back in Space, because the head of the Coastal Base was the former commander of all Chaoyang boys. Also, they and Tan Weiye were kind of like frienemies. Now that they were under siege, Chaoyang people surely would get worried.

"That would be too slow."

The old way referred to gold superfunction possessors building a passageway and Yun Che covering everybody up in the air membrane. It could work in regular cities, as those cities wouldn't have more than a million zombies. But the Coastal Base was an exception, it would be too slow if they followed the old way.

Everybody was wordless after hearing this. "We can't fly, we can't walk. How are we supposed to get there? Are we seriously gonna fight all those zombies?" They thought.

"Have you forgotten about Cheng?"

Yun Che chuckled with Chenchen in his arms when he took a glance at everybody. A million zombies? So what? They got the Super Zombie with them. As for the zombie beasts, they could kill them one by one, there weren't so many zombie beasts anyway.

"Ugh, how silly are we? We've got Cheng with us, we don't need to be afraid!"

Zhou Zeyu was the first to figure it out. He rushed to Cheng and hugged one of his arms. "Cheng, you'll be protecting us today. You're a lifesaver! I'm officially your fan from now on."

"Piss off!"

Yun Cheng was still confused. Leng Yehan kicked Zhou Zeyu away.

"Haha!"

The problem was solved! People couldn't help but laugh at Zhou Zeyu. Zhou didn't choose to fight Leng Yehan back because their lives were counting on his wifey.

"Cheng, there are numerous zombies ahead of us but you can scare them. You'll be protecting your brother now!"

The next second, Yun Che walked up to Yun Cheng with Chenchen in his arms. Now Cheng finally got it. "OK, I'll be protecting you and Chenchen."

He then added after a quick thought, "And Han."

"Hehe."

It made Leng Yehan so happy, finally, he wasn't neglected. Yun Che scanned the entire crew with a smile. "Let's go, shall we?"

"Go, go, go!"

Everyone was in a good mood since they had found the ultimate solution——Yun Cheng. Xing Feng took Chenchen over, as he saw that Yun Che wasn't going to send the boy back in Space. He then held Yun Che's hand with his spare hand. Knowing what they were going to do, Leng Yehan took Yun Cheng to the front.

*Roar*

"Shut up!"

The zombies outside the golf course tried to attack them when they scented the smell of fresh meat right after they got going, Yun Cheng shouted at the zombies. Although the zombies backed up in a shudder, they still snarled at them. Yun Cheng didn't give a damn, he just gave them a contemptuous look and held his nose, trying to put up with the stink.

"Shit, I've never experienced this before. Cheng, you're a superstar!"

The zombies on street stayed away from Yun Cheng when they scented his smell. Zhao Gang and the other guys were shocked and excited. They finally understood how helpful Yun Cheng could be.

"So many, so stinking!"

About half an hour later, Yun Cheng turned to Yun Che with a poor look on the face when he saw the squirming zombies in front of them as if he was saying, "I don't want to go! It's stinking."

"Cheng, do you remember what you promised me? You'll try very hard not to be a neat freak."

Yun Che didn't really like the fact that his brother was a neat freak, but he had to coax him patiently. The zombies all turned around because they had scented the smell of the living people, but they didn't dare to move because Yun Cheng was around. If Yun Cheng quit, they'd be all dead.

"But…"

Yun Cheng looked at Yun Che, then at those dirty zombies with a pout, the look on his face said "no". Chenchen knew that Uncle Cheng distasted stink and filth, he comforted him in his puerile tone of voice, "Don't worry, Uncle Cheng, we can have a bath in Space later. You know, there's a big, long river in Uncle Che's Space and it has a big bathtub. It hurt me when I took my first bath but all the baths I take afterward have been great!"

The so-called bathtub was the Jade Spring. Chenchen liked to bathe in the Jade Spring the most.

"Really?"

Ye Xingchen and the rest had always been interested in Yun Che's Space, they eagerly stared at Yun Che when they heard this as if they were saying "when can we go in there and have a look?"

"Hey, knock it off, we're dealing with something serious here."

With more than a million zombies blocking the way, they shouldn't be discussing this subject right now. Yun Che gave them a glare and said to Yun Cheng, "Cheng, feel it, do those zombies feel tasty to you?"

There should be a number of level-4 ones amongst a million zombies, which could please Cheng quite well.

"Hmm?"

Tasty? How? Yun Cheng couldn't get it. But he tried to feel it anyway. All of a sudden his pretty face was full of excitement, he held Leng Yehan's hand and yelped, "Han, level 4, level-4 crystal nucleus! I want to eat!"

They had been teaching Yun Cheng about crystal nucleus levels, so he could tell there were level-4 ones by a sniff. And it could be foreseen that soon, Yun Cheng wouldn't even care for level-3 crystal nuclei.

"All right, all right, we'll get you some if we can."

Leng Yehan agreed even though it would be extremely difficult because he had nothing else for Yun Cheng but love.

"No, I want them now."

Yun Cheng, however, acted like a child. He put on an upset look on the face like a child who didn't get his candy. Yun Che gave Leng Yehan a look right before he tried to coax him. He then said to Yun Cheng in a regrettable tone, "We wanted to get you some nice food but you see all those zombies over there? We aren't good enough to tell which is level-4 and which isn't from a distance, and you don't want to move forward. So how are we supposed to get you the crystal nuclei?"

Here Yun Che started to fool Yun Cheng around. Everybody looked away, trying as hard as possible to keep silent.

"OK, OK, I'll keep moving."

After a brief silence, Yun Cheng shook Yun Che's arm with a pout. Yun Che secretly put a V-sign in the back but the gentle smile on his face remained. "Good boy, let's go. If we try to get into the base in the evening, people will take us for zombies."

"OK."

Yun Cheng turned around and moved forward silently after a nod. As soon as he noticed a zombie stuck out, he dashed over and pointed his finger at him with another hand on his hips. "Hey, you, crack your head open and give me your crystal nucleus."

"Uh, what?"

His childish demand was rude and brute. The guys behind him tumbled as they were surprised by what they just heard. "Who the hell taught Cheng this? We'll have a word with him!"

*Roar*

The zombie, however, cowered and turned back into the zombie herd roaring because he probably didn't understand what Yun Cheng just said.

"Stay there!"

"Cheng!"

Cheng was upset, he tried to go after the zombie. Luckily, Leng Yehan swiftly held him back, everybody was relieved. Even Cheng couldn't resist the temptation of food, no wonder Chu Haoling would do anything for a bite of delicacy. They'd better mock him less.

"Han…"

Yun Che looked back with an upset expression on the face. His level-4 crystal nucleus just escaped.

"Uh…"

Leng Yehan didn't know what to say to comfort him, Yun Che helped him out with a smile. "All right, Cheng, there are plenty of level-4 zombies, you'll get your crystal nuclei, OK? Good boy, let's get into the base first, I'll find level-4 zombies with you tomorrow."

It was actually Leng Yehan's fault. Cheng wasn't picky previously, he would eat crystal nuclei at all levels like jelly beans, but ever since Yehan took over, Cheng only ate the good stuff. Cheng had decided to upgrade from level-3 to level-4. Yes, there might be many level-4 zombies, but they weren't easy to deal with.

"OK, but you must keep your word!"

"Yeah, sure!"

Yun Cheng beamed with satisfaction and led them to the zombie herd. The zombies moved to both sides at a weirdly fast speed. The team immediately sped up and rushed forward. After they were gone, the zombies returned to where they were a few seconds ago. The passageway disappeared as if it never existed. If someone saw this, they'd freak out because it was genuinely creepy.
