Subduing The Mutant Pandas

The bamboo forest in the mountain behind the village occupied a very wide area and even linked to a deep mountain at the back. The mountain was home to all kinds of mutant beasts, and there were now many level-4 mutant beasts. The Wolf King who was of the same level wasn't able to restrain them, but might even ignite their desire to fight. The world of wild beasts was much more cruel than that of human beings. Therefore, after getting out of Chen Hua's sight, Yun Che took Heiyu and Chenchen out. Chenchen still had tears in his eyes after getting frightened earlier, and he looked really pitiful trying to hold back his tears.

"It's okay. Look, I'm fine now. It's the gorilla's fault, not yours."

Holding Chenchen in his arms, Yun Che stroked his back to comfort him while shuttling in the bamboo forest. Chenchen put his arms around his neck and buried his head in his arms, "Um, it's the gorilla's fault!"

"Haha… everything's okay now, Uncle Cheng has already killed him."

Yun Che smiled when he saw that his words had sunk into Chenchen's head, but his next sentence made the smile on his face freeze.

"It's Chenchen's fault too, I hit Uncle…"

This was the thing pricking him. Chenchen said with a snuffle and started sobbing again. He actually hit his uncle who was his favorite person. He was a bad boy.

"It's okay, Chenchen. You didn't want to hit me either, am I right? You were being controlled by the gorilla. Good boy, it saddens me to see you cry like this."

Xing Feng stretched out his hands and carried him over. Chenchen sobbed as he looked at his uncle, making a mess wiping away his own tears, "Don't be sad, Uncle. I won't cry anymore."

"Silly boy. We gotta battle first, let's talk later."

Seeing him trying to hold back his tears made others feel really sorry for him. Yun Che rubbed his head in a doting manner before suddenly raising his hand to stop everyone. After climbing over a hill cautiously, Yun Che covered them with an air membrane and led everyone to lie in a prone position on the top of the hill. They looked down and saw a dozen pandas of different sizes scattered in the bamboo forest gnawing on bamboo. They didn't appear mutated and looked innocent and lovable just like before doomsday, especially the little pandas. Chenchen stopped sobbing and stared at them with his teary eyes—the pandas were really adorable.

"Xingchen, can you sense which one is of the highest level?"

Yun Che beckoned Ye Xingchen to lean over before whispering to him. The giant pandas hadn't noticed them as they were covered up in the air membrane.

"No, the air membrane is blocking my senses."

Ye Xingchen tried using his superfunction a few times, but could only shake his head helplessly in the end. Yun Che's air membrane blocked out their breathing and voices, but also blocked out their senses at the same time.

"I gotta let Heiyu do it then."

"What do you mean I gotta do it? Aren't you guys going with me? Master, are you setting me up?"

Heiyu flew into a rage right after hearing what he said. How could Yun Che abuse him when he had yet to recover from his serious injury?

"I just wanted you to make your presence felt, what are you thinking?"

Yun Che shot him a dirty look, trying his best to control his urge to throw him out. Heiyu was taken aback and quickly laughed it off, "You should have said so earlier, I thought…but you can't blame me, you're always setting me up!"

"Look who's talking!"

Yun Che smacked his head and turned to look at others to stop himself from killing him, "Get ready, everyone. If Heiyu's coercion doesn't work, we gotta fight it out with them, but try not to kill them. Mutant pandas have good combat effectiveness. I want to keep them in the Space after Xingchen takes his pick. They might be useful in the future."

"Uncle, I want that little one."

Right after Yun Che finished speaking, Chenchen was already tugging at him and pointing at one of the smaller pandas. The tense atmosphere loosened up at once, and everyone smiled helplessly. Yun Che patted his head, "Alright, Uncle Heiyu will help you get it later."

"Geez, why is it me again?"

Heiyu protested unhappily. How was he going to get the panda when he looked like a little puppy now? Wasn't this setting him up?

Unfortunately, although it was rare that there was something he couldn't do, no one present sympathized with him, but scoffed at him instead. Serve him right for always tricking them!

"Uncle Heiyu, I want the panda."

Thinking that Heiyu was unwilling to get the panda for him, Chenchen turned to look at him with his shiny eyes.

Heiyu mumbled, giving in to his pleading eyes. Chenchen hugged him happily, "Thank you, Uncle Heiyu. You're my favorite person."

"Alright, alright, that's enough."

Feeling really uncomfortable with his chubby arms around him, Heiyu struggled hard kicking his legs. Unfortunately, he was just a little puppy now and couldn't break away from Chenchen no matter how hard he tried.

"Get ready!"

Yun Che suddenly turned solemn, and everyone, including Chenchen and Heiyu, stopped bantering and focused on the mutant giant pandas in the bamboo forest on the hillside. Yun Che closed his eyes and took a deep breath before removing the air membrane with a snap of his fingers.

"Umm…"

"Roarrr…"

Sensing the presence of strangers once the air membrane was gone, all the giant pandas eating in the bamboo forest changed into their mutated form. The largest was comparable to an elephant as described by Chu Haoling, and even the smallest was the size of a bull. Showing mutated fangs that were long and sharp like ancient mammoths, the pandas roared and dashed towards them.

"Outrageous!"

"Bang bang…"

Heiyu shouted, releasing the coercion of a divine beast, and the mutant giant pandas dashing towards them rolled down one after another one. After their bodies were stopped by the bamboo, all the mutant giant pandas laid on the ground trembling. Different from human beings, the coercion of beasts was in their blood. Therefore, even though Heiyu had yet to recover from his injury and could only appear as a little puppy, he was still a divine beast that mutant beasts were afraid of.

"That's it?"

Chu Haoling was dumbfounded. To think they had been fretting over it the whole day. Was this the same group of mutant giant pandas that attacked them a few days ago?

"Haha… seems that Heiyu is still very useful. Xingchen, go pick the strongest one."

Yun Che quietly heaved a sigh of relief, but he didn't notice that Heiyu on his shoulder was already a little sluggish. Releasing the coercion required energy and had taken a toll on his already weak body.

After finally realizing that something was wrong with him, Yun Che controlled the airflow as he dashed down the hill, putting all the pandas into the Space with a wave of his hand once he approached them, leaving only the largest one outside. Ye Xingchen immediately used his superfunction to control him, and Heiyu quickly forced a drop of blood out and shot it into its mouth.

"Oooh…"

The mutant giant panda rolled on the ground in pain, and everyone dispersed at once, leaving Ye Xingchen standing in front of the panda and using his superfunction to subdue him. Jiang Shang wanted to go over, but was stopped by Yu Wenqing. Ye Xingchen had to subdue his warbeast on his own. Moreover, it shouldn't be a problem with Heiyu's help.

"Umm…"

The blood of the divine beast was quickly absorbed by his body. The mutant giant panda stopped and took a fearful glance at the Heiyu on Yun Che's shoulder before shrinking to the size before mutation. He then walked towards Ye Xingchen, nudged his thigh and stood up before sticking out his tongue to lick his cheek, showing the latter that he was willing to accept him as his master.

"Haha…we'll call you Panpan from now on. Don't worry, we won't ill-treat you."

Ye Xingchen touched his head and smiled happily. The giant panda was very adorable when it wasn't showing its prowess, and Ye Xingchen also gave him a name known by everyone. The former Panda Panpan represented China; this Panpan represented Peak Squad.

"Umm…"

Panpan squealed, nudging him and acting cute. Seeing this, Chenchen struggled to get down and ran over, "Uncle Ye, I want to touch it too."

Kids couldn't resist cute animals like pandas. Ye Xingchen pushed Panpan away slightly and bent over to carry Chenchen up. Chenchen immediately used his chubby hand to touch him.

"Hello, Panpan, I'm Chenchen. We are good friends from now on."

"Mmm."

Panpan seemed to know that they were together. Not only did he not get angry, he even squealed at him in a friendly manner, and Ye Xingchen interpreted dutifully, "He's saying hello to you."

"Mmm, Panpan is so cute!"

The forsaken Wolf King bit the corner of Ye Xingchen's clothes. Had his fickle master grown tired of him?

So he was jealous.

"Look at you."

Ye Xingchen was suddenly rendered speechless, and the rest all rolled their eyes at the same time. Why were the two of them acting lovey-dovey all the time?

"Are you okay? Do you want to rest in the Space?"

Yun Che didn't go over to congratulate Ye Xingchen, but was holding Heiyu in his arms and asking him worriedly. Xing Feng who was with him also had a worried look on his face, for Heiyu was more than just a pet to them.

"Umm…okay, with the mutant giant panda and Wolf King around, I suppose no other mutant beasts would attack you."

Heiyu nodded weakly. His internal injury wasn't something that he could recover from in a matter of days. He had taken a long time previously, so it should be the same this time. The only difference was he had avoided Yun Che and dared not come out previously, so he didn't appear for a long time. He didn't need to hide this time, and it might take some time for him to recover.

"Okay, remember that you're injured. Go in, we should also make our way back soon."

Feeling upset, Yun Che opened the Space and sent him in. Xing Feng put his arm around his shoulders, "Don't reproach yourself, you didn't know that a mere release of coercion would strip so much energy of him."

None of them would know if Heiyu didn't tell them.
