Interest and Disgust

For more than two months, Gao Wei had been staying in the capital. Although commanders and representatives of several other bases who came for the wedding also stayed because of the secret of planting and the matter concerning the president, they only cared about planting and the president, whereas what Gao Wei desired most was Heiyu after the scouts he sent to the southwest dug out more about Heiyu.

However, he might underestimate Yun Che and let his guard down, but he would never underestimate Xing Feng. He had been waiting for two months for an opportunity to get close to Heiyu, and today he finally got the chance. When he received the news that Xing Feng, Yun Che and others had all left home, he immediately rushed to their house, trying to approach Heiyu when he paid a visit. And it would be best if he could straightforwardly take Heiyu away with him, which seemed unlikely.

"Wei, you seem to be highly interested in Heiyu?"

Heiyu was having the best time gnawing those energy bars, and apparently Gao Wei was also satisfied with his obedience, "Heiyu is interesting, and I think there should be few people who's not interested in him, right? Some mutant beasts can imitate human speech after they reach level five. But animals are animals after all, and they often stumble and their words inaudible. Heiyu is the first mutant beast I have ever seen that can speak clearly and think independently. I heard that he is also strongly combative, am I right?"

Knowing well about Heiyu, Gu Mingxuan laughed as well. It seemed that this man had not realized that he was robbed by Heiyu.

"It seems that boss and others are here."

Tan Weiye and Mo Wenyang walked over holding their hands together and they didn't go easy on him. Others didn't say a word, not because they were afraid of Gao Wei but because they knew Xing Feng and Yun Che would do what they wanted to and there was no need for them to make it harder.

"You guys are staying here as well? I'm just a junior base commander, while you are the real base commander."

Gao Wei sneered at them, not forgetting to greet them with a fist bump. Tan Weiye, Mo Wenyang, and even Xing Feng who followed with Yun Che didn't refuse. They had made a decision not to wake a sleeping wolf for the time being and they would pretend that they knew nothing about the mutant human beings and his ambitions so as to wait for him to reveal his real purpose. Although Gu Mingxuan had told them that he might be here for Heiyu, they were not worried at all. If Heiyu would so easily be tricked, then he would not be the Heiyu they knew.

"Tell me, what the hell are you doing here?"

After sitting down with Yun Che, Xing Feng continued. Yun Che smiled and glanced towards Heiyu and the mountain of energy bars next to him. All these energy bars were in wrappers, so they were obviously not manufactured by the machines in the Space. So it seemed that Gao Wei really had a plan for Heiyu, otherwise, why would he make such an effort to bring so many energy bars here? It was difficult to find energy bars that had not expired.

"You didn't come at our invitation so what kind of a guest are you?"

Xing Feng was still rude, but they all knew that it was all just a joke up to this point. Although none of them like him, it was not the time for them to completely fall out with him.

"Forget it, I'll be the kind one and I'll just put it behind me."

Pretending to be hurt and waving his hand, Gao Wei suddenly said in a serious manner, "Speaking of which, which family do you support to run for the president? The Xing Family? The Mo Family? Or other families?"

"No one!"

Since Gao Wei had become serious, they should just stop joking here, but Xing Feng's answer seemed to be so unreliable that even children wouldn't buy it.

"Am I an idiot to you!"

"Relocate the Mo Army to the southwest? Do you guys want to develop the southwest into the largest base in the country?"

Not knowing whether Mo Wenyang was making a joke or not, Gao Wei calmly probed. It was not something he what that a certain base grew to be the strongest one. There were already three army groups in southwest, and with the military power of the Mo Family, they would have a total of four army groups. Moreover, if the Xing Family…Then the southwest would undoubtedly have enough military power to wrestle with the capital.

"Largest base? Now in this world, being the largest base means nothing at all. The most important thing is to be able to feed all the people."

This was true. The military power was good, but the key was whether they could feed those soldiers. And this was also the reason why extravagance was not allowed though each army had sufficient reserves. Soldiers needed food and if they didn't have enough food for the soldiers, no matter how strong their military power was, they would still lose sooner or later.

"Feeding soldiers might be a problem for others, but you certainly won't have to worry about it. Che treats you the best. I heard that the southwest had another bumper crop, right?"

In July, the lands ploughed by the southwest had a bumper crop. Every base had known it some time ago. However, the planting base reclaimed by Xing Feng and the army harvested last month, and now the third season of crops were planted in Yonghe Town, so it was very likely they would see another harvest this year. The Southwest Base was edging towards the goal of sufficient food and clothes.

"You bastard. You're planting scouts in the southwest again?"

Mo Wenyang immediately rolled his eyes. There was no way that he could stop other armies to plant scouts in theirs. However, once he thought about those people Liu Xizhao sent to the southwest, Mo Wenyang felt disgusted.

"Don't say it as if you guys didn't have people planted in the northeast."

Gao Wei did not deny. After all, this was something that everyone knew.

"You think everyone does business like you?"

He hadn't had time to plant anyone there yet. Their connection with those scouts before the doomsday was cut off long ago because of the sudden arrival of the doomsday.

"Oh? It sounds like you haven't planted any? Then I have to report back quickly, and we can't let your scouts blend into our army."

Gao Wei acted surprised, and Mo Wenyang didn't have the mood to argue with him. He secretly decided that when he returned, he would have a thorough check on the army. Even if he couldn't find the scouts, he would be able to keep them away from those he trusted, so that what happened to Yun Cheng would not happen again.

"Have you sent scouts to the Coast as well?"

"Take a guess if I will tell you!"

Tan Weiye wasn't bluffing. If there were any scouts in the Coast, the details of Yun Che defending the base against millions of zombies would have spread all over the place. And even if they had done so, their scouts wouldn't have the opportunity to wormed their way into the army.
