Heiyu Was Actually the Hybrid King of Beasts

After entering the sea, Heiyu had Yun Che on his back, followed the smell of qilin, and went all the way to the depths of the sea. When the sea was about to flow together above their heads, Yun Che performed an air membrane to prevent the pressure of the sea and provide them with enough air to breathe. The depth was darker than they had thought. The deeper they headed, the less they could see. In the end, Yun Che had to throw a few fireballs and had them protected by the air membrane, putting them either in front or beside them.

The creatures deep in the sea didn't change into zombies but became mutant ones. Perhaps it was because Heiyu was a divine beast, they barely ran into any creatures on their way. After a long time, the front was lit up all of a sudden. A Crystal Palace which had covered a large area appeared before their eyes. It seemed transparent, but one couldn't simply see the layout of the palace with their eyes, which was mysterious and magnificent.

"There is a border here."

Yun Che didn't sense the existence of the powerful board until they got close to the palace. Heiyu took him into the border directly and soon felt the strong scent of divine beasts. Even Yun Che could feel it. Great pressure forced Heiyu to stop. He barked.

Heiyu stopped there and closed his eyes for a while, then he suddenly raised his head and let out a long roar. A pitch-black unicorn slowly emerged from the top of his head. And a pair of huge wings were extended on both sides of his body. His appearance changed a lot and seemed twice that of his original size.

"Heiyu!"

Sitting on his back, Yun Che witnessed all this and let out a whisper of worry. Heiyu turned his big head to Yun Che, then lowered his head and muffled, "It's okay, as long as you are still my master."

"What?"

What did that mean?!

Yun Che frowned, wondering what he meant, but Heiyu shook his head afterwards, "Nothing. Did I freak you? See? This is who I really am! I finally remember my birth story. I'm a hybrid child of a qilin and a qiongqi. The latter is one of the four fiends in Chinese mythology. Beasts like me are very likely to be spurned by all ethnic groups. At least I did when I was young. But later I ran into someone, a god I may say. He tamed me, didn't despise me for my hybrid identity but helped make me a divine beast. I used to be the only hybrid divine beast in that world and even became the king of the beasts in the end."

His talented blood had been sealed. Now that it was crushed, he remembered a lot, including who he used to be, why he became the guardian of the space, and why he recognized Yun Che as his master even if he only had fake memories. He remembered everything.

"Then why did you become the guardian of the space?"

Yun Che had an answer already, but he found it hard to believe. Heiyu looked back at him, "Because my master! He died!"

For the very first time, Yun Che heard Heiyu sobbed. He felt sad, very sad!

"Every Parallel Space is formed by the condensed life-long blood and soul of the great kings. Only people who got lucky or the god himself in his next life could touch and open it. Greetings to you, God Ming Che. I'm Xuan Po of the qilin clan!"

A deep voice sounded in the ear. After a dazzling light flashed, a tall and slender man stood in front of them. He was in a white brocade robe in an ancient style, his silver hair dragging to the ground. The man had a handsome and delicate face. He bowed to Yun Che as he greeted and acted humbly and respectfully.

"Ming Che?"

Yun Che frowned. It was not the first time he heard this name. He still remembered that Xing Feng called him that way the day he drank his blood. Did it mean he was the rebirth of Ming Che?

"You are the guardian of the earth?"

Now was not the right time for his questions, so Yun Che left all the doubts behind and turned his sharp eyes toward the man who claimed himself Xuan Po. Despite all the handsome guys Yun Che had seen in the past years, such as Ye Xingchen and Jiang Shang, he still found the man too perfect. Even his aura was too transparent and divine to violate.

"Yes. God Ming Che, this way please!"

Xuan Po still kept low even if he already realized that Yun Che had no memory of his previous life, "Ming Yu, you can transform in this border."

Ming Yu was Heiyu's real name. But after so many years of not hearing it, Heiyu only felt sad. Even Yun Che could sense how depressed he was.

"Heiyu, I'm here with you."

Jumping off his back, Yun Che flew in the air and circled his big head. Ming Che and Ming Yu. Their relationship was easy to tell. But as his present master, Yun Che only believed he was Yun Che and the beast in front of him was Heiyu, no matter whether he was the God Ming Che they said he was or what kind of stories had happened between them.

"Yes, Master!"

His warmth faded Heiyu's depression. He turned into a puppy and jumped on Yun Che's shoulder, "What transformation? Is it some kind of food? Beasts have always despised human beings, yet you prefer all the time to show up in their shapes. Don't you think it's ironic?"

Heiyu mocked.

"You haven't changed."

The qilin beast only smiled. From his reply, it was easy to conclude that he knew Heiyu, and they knew each other quite well.

"Works for both of us. You are still hypocritic."

Heiyu refuted back. Yun Che stroked his head after he landed and didn't correct him. Heiyu had mentioned that he was a child of a qilin and a qiongqi and had been bullied for a long time. It was very likely that the perpetrators were mostly from the qilin clan and the qiongqi clan. Therefore, it was reasonable if Heiyu had an attitude toward them. But Yun Che had no idea that the relationship between the two was much more intimate than he had thought.

"This way, please."

Xuan Po once again bowed and led the way. Since he was so gentle and polite, Yun Che went into the palace with Heiyu directly. The palace was quite large, and the ceiling was more than ten meters high, but there was nothing in the main hall. Xuan Po took them to the back of the side palace. Pushing the door open, they seemed to have entered a different world. The decorations inside didn't seem consistent with the Crystal Palace. It looked ancient, and all the desks, tables, chairs, and stools were all made of solid wood.

"I assume you didn't summon us here to have tea. I have no time for your catch-up. Now go ahead and say it."

Realizing that Xuan Po took his time to pour tea for Yun Che and had no intention to get to the point, Heiyu reminded him impatiently.

Raising his eyes slightly, Xuan Po glanced at Heiyu and then sat opposite them. He had his right hand under his chin and said all of a sudden, "When will you show me some respect, huh? Considering I'm your father."

Slap!

"Oh, screw you! What father? Who dares to be my father? Get out of my sight, will you? I was born from nowhere, and I don't have either parents or a family."

Yun Che dropped the teacup right after he took it. Heiyu yelled at Xuan Po as if he was crazy. Only he didn't know that the louder he shouted, the stronger it proved that Xuan Po was telling the truth. He was Heiyu's father for real.

"Well, Ling Yin might cry for what you said."

Xuan Po ignored how freaked out Heiyu was and even nodded with a smile. Heiyu turned his head angrily, "He will cry? Oh, do you still think I'm the ignorant kid who would believe your lie?"

After speaking, Heiyu held Yun Che's neck with his claws, leaned against his chest, and stopped talking. His parents were the Chief of Water qilin and the Young Chief of the qiongqi clan. They were both royal divine beasts with pureblood. Heiyu himself, however, was just a hybrid creature. Before his master helped make him the beast king, he had never got support from either clan, not to mention knowing the existence of his parents. Later, when he finally became the king of all the beasts, he figured who his parents were. Also, he learned the history between them. His parents fell in love regardless of their blood. And since they were both males, they figured a way to give birth to Heiyu through some forbidden tricks. After the then king found out what they had done, they were both punished to guard the Parallel Spaces and weren't allowed to come back until they stoned for what they had done.

Heiyu wasn't supposed to know about them actually, but his master was God Ming Che, one of the Seven Gods in the immortal world. Ming Che was quite unruly and always did things the way he wanted, and nobody could stop him. With his help, Heiyu took advantage of his identity as the king of the beasts and opened their paths to the Parallel Space. They had found his parents many times, yet it never worked out. Therefore, Heiyu had never admitted he was their child. His master was the only one who mattered in his heart.

"Fine, Ling Yin won't cry, but I will."

Even if he said so, he still had a big smile on his face. Xuan Po seemed to have foreseen that Heiyu wouldn't talk to him, so he turned to Yun Che, "God Ming Che, sorry you have to bear this. I just didn't expect us to see each other again in this way."

When Xuan Po first sensed Ming Yu's scent, he was shocked, having no idea how he appeared here as a guarding beast of the space. After all, only divine beasts who had committed felonies would be punished to be here. But Ming Yu was already the king, so who dared to punish him? Xuan Po didn't know the answer until he saw Ming Che. So, Ming Yu wasn't here for punishment but for waiting, waiting for a tiny but only chance that he might see God Ming Che again.

Gods at Ming Che's position were superior to ordinary gods. They had the supreme power in this world and lived with the world. Death never occurred to them. Until there were wars among them, or nothing could make them fall. Xuan Po didn't know why Ming Che had fallen before, but he was sure that Ming Che had made his way back. Ming Yu risked everything he had and finally saw what he had always wanted.

No wonder he had triggered the thunder tribulation of Ninth Heaven. If he couldn't, well, nobody in this world could.

See him again?

So, he was Ming Che indeed. Yun Che sighed inwardly, "My name is Yun Che. Look, I don't care if I am the one you believed I am. Right now, I'm just an ordinary man and all I want to know is what has happened to this world, and why you summoned us here. Also, why didn't you do your job to guard the world and kill the master of the space who already became evil?"

Yun Che believed there was such a rebirth thing in this world, but he wouldn't let his previous identity change his decision, especially he didn't even know what kind of a man he was in his previous life. As long as the old memory didn't occur to him, he would still consider himself as Yun Che and wouldn't make any decision or do anything based on Ming Che's identity. All he cared about right now was the situation he had to face at present. As for other things, he wouldn't care, at least for the time being.
