Declaration of War

The Capital Base.

"It's been a day. I hope everything is doing well with Che."

Upstairs in Section C, Xing Feng looked ahead at sunset with the howling of zombies aside him. After busy work, Gu Mingxuan came to him and delivered a bottle of mineral water. Thanks to Yun Che, they barely drank beverages and the like anymore. Mostly, their choice was mineral water, and the tea they usually drank was also diluted spring water which was boiled.

"No news is good news."

Twisting the bottle cap and raising his head to take a sip, Xing Feng said in a low voice. It had been a whole day, yet all he got was the email Yun Che had sent in the morning.

"I think so. With at least tens of thousands of people in the research center, they won't be able to kill them all that easily. Tomorrow, we'll know."

Holding his head with both hands on the tower, Gu Mingxuan comforted him. None of them seemed abnormal today, but the truth was they couldn't calm down because nothing could go wrong.

"Captain, the base commander of the Northeast Base sent a video chat request."

A soldier hurried over and reported. Xing Feng and Gu Mingxuan looked at each other, "Let's see what he is up to."

"Let's go."

The two of them were gloomy, wondering what Gao Wei had in mind at this moment.

In the conference room, all the members of Chaoyang were present. On the vast TV wall, Gao Wei, sitting behind the desk, appeared in their sight. Even though they were facing the screen, they could see his golden vertical pupils. The weather was hot, but he still wore a military uniform. "What have you done to my research center?"

It had been a day, yet all the armies he had sent to locate the research center had reported that the research center was gone. Since Xuan Tian was not answering, Gao Wei could only contact Xing Feng and wish to find some clues through their conversation. "As you can see, all of us are here confronting you. What do you think we can do to your research center?"

Compared to his viciousness and anger, Xing Feng was quite casual. Chu Haoling refuted directly, "Could it be you have offended too many people and some of them are trying to ruin you? What a blessing! I wish them luck to destroy your damn research center."

"Haoling, manners."

"Who's speaking?"

The call went through, but a stranger answered. Xing Feng frowned slightly, "This is Xing Feng speaking. Where is your chief?"

"Master Feng, please hold on. Chief is in a meeting."

No one didn't know Xing Feng in the Southwest Base. The man who answered the call must be Mo Wenyang's confidant. Hearing the running voice on the phone, Xing Feng waited patiently.

"Xing Feng?"

About a minute later, Mo Wenyang's voice sounded. The Southwest Base had developed quite well recently. Regardless of the zombies outside, people inside the base almost lived prosperously. Therefore, as the chief of the base, Mo Wenyang was busy every day.

"Gao Wei tried to test me out. I'm sending you the video."

Since all of them were busy, Xing Feng got to the point directly.

"How did he get time to contact you at this time?"

Mo Wenyang asked jokingly as he opened the video he had just received.

"He might go against the Southwest Base or the Coast Base. So, get prepared."

Gao Wei was definitely declaring war at the end. Therefore, he would only target at the Southwest Base, the Coast Base, or the capital. The rest two bases wouldn't hurt even if Gao Wei attacked them. Therefore, Gao Wei wouldn't waste his time and energy doing something useless.

"If he dares to come, I'll make sure the Southwest Base is where his life will be ended."

Mo Wenyang gritted his teeth as he watched the video. All of them in the Southwest Base had neither loosened their guards nor stopped improving themselves. In fact, after they knew that Yun Che had a secret space, all the soldiers and superfunction squads practiced even more complex instead of making chaos. Even if Yun Che had the space, he had never abandoned them. Without him, none of them could have the chance to enjoy their present lives.

It would be a lie if they said they were not shocked at all when they learned the news. But after that, they knew better that they were on the same side with Yun Che. The latter was always a representative of the Southwest Base in the outside world. Therefore, if Yun Che had to fight against the rest of the world, they would stand by his side, guard his space, and prevent others from stealing it.

The Southwest Base was the most harmonious and united one among the six bases. No matter how they consumed each other at ordinary times, they would shift their aims to the same target when they were under attack.

With people like them, Mo Wenyang was not afraid of the mutants outside. Not all the mutants were level 8 or level 9. Therefore, Mo Wenyang believed they had a chance to win.

"Don't underestimate them. Che said that the mutants in level 7 are as good as superfunction possessors in level 8. We don't know their numbers yet, but if they can erase the Central China Base overnight, I'd say they have enough."

Xing Feng knew the situation in the Southwest Base. But it was never too much to be defensive. The Southwest Base and the Coast Base had to be well protected no matter what.

"I got this. What about the Coast Base? Did you tell Weiye about this?"

After watching the video, Mo Wenyang believed Xing Feng was right about Gao Wei targeting the three bases. Since Xing Feng was in the Capital Base with 11 armies, Gao Wei wouldn't risk attacking him. Therefore, he would turn his guns against the Southwest Base or the Coast Base.

"Mingxuan is calling him."

Xing Feng glanced at Gu Mingxuan. Before he shifted his gaze, Chu Haoling looked over. Xing Feng shook his head with a smile, "Tell our men to send Senior Chen to the Capital Base. We'll be with them if they need any help."

"I'm on it."

Mo Wenyang didn't refuse, knowing Xing Feng was doing this for Chu Haoling, hen he hung up the phone. Wei Kan and Wang Wei had finished watching the video as well, and they all looked solemn. Gao Wei made the threat as if they were Yun Che's weaknesses. That was too humiliating.

"Now that you've watched the video, I'll drop the detailed situation. You all know that Yun Che emailed me this morning, saying that they had started attacking the research center in the Northeast Base. Gao Wei is targeting us because of this, so it's no longer just about Yun Che. Guys, I wish we can jointly be united and resist our enemies together."
