The mess caused by the Overseers greed had yet to be leaned up. Sure, they might of been a little greedy. But their deaths still shook the world. It destroyed the balance of power. Nations once protected by them were invaded quickly. In less than a year, nearly six nations fell. The Union was on the verge of collapsing, and the nation of Immortuos was quiet. Many people fell into poverty. It seems that the world was slowly dying.
"This mess partly my fault, so I should help clean it up."
Lifting his bony hands, he drew in the air. Oddly shaped runes began to form and made strange noises. Similar to that of a whirr from a fan. The runes gradually got brighter and brighter before strangely popping out of existence. At the same moment, a table the size of a town hall appeared. Chairs surrounded the long table. People began teleporting next to said chairs in a confused state.
There was a man covered in blood, a woman holding an axe, all types of people were here. But they all held on similarity, they were a leader of a country or city. Some immediately prepared for battle, after all, teleportation spells aren't that unheard of. Everyone got ready to battle, some recognized each other and were confused once more. Some held the opposite reaction to those that they recognized. As a large battle was about to take place, everyone's expressions turned solemn as they quietly went into a docile state. They all pulled back a chair and calmly sat down.
Their blank stares suddenly transformed into normal ones. They confusedly looked around once more. Murmurs began to spread throughout the room. They figured out by now that they aren't in charge here. After all, you can't be a leader without being somewhat smart.
"Now now everyone, I know you're confused. So, everything shall be explained to you in a moment. But before that, would anyone like some food? Perhaps a drink will calm you down."
The quiet murmurs quieted down for a second before erupting into fierce screams. As it turns out, not everybody here holds a large capacity for knowledge. In other words, some people are dumb.
"I don't want to create a bigger mess, so sit down for now." Without even lifting his fingers, the bony figure at the head of the table made everyone sit down. The smarter of those there decided to stay put and stay silent.
"As I said, everything shall be explained to you. So please direct your attention towards the back."
Everything went quiet as everyone looked to the back of the room. A holographic image was displayed. It showed the Overseers and their army getting crushed by a gigantic spider. Having now seen the deaths of the Overseers, on shivering young man raised his hands and asked, "Is- Is this real?"
With his same monotone voice, the skeleton at the head of the table responded, "Why wouldn't it be?"
It was clear that the spider was part of Immortuos. A creature of that size and strength could easily destroy their kingdoms. A burly beastman with a lion's mane asked, "Where are we?"
"Isn't that obvious? Are all beastmen as dumb as you? Or are you special?"
The now quaking beastman slammed his hands on the table, his claws contacting the table made a terrible noise. "How dare you!" The skeleton responded with a mere stare. Only someone with great power dare to ignore the king of beastmen like this. Those who held a grudge against the beastmen race looked at the lion with disgust. They were overjoyed to see this scene happening. Either the lion dies or Ossa Magi does. Either way, they would benefit. Contrary to their expectations though, Ossa Magi merely ignored the king after looking at him. He continued, "I do apologize for killing the Overseers. I know it threw the power between nations apart. It's a chaotic world right now. So, I will be cleaning up the mess i made."
The beastmen king stood up once again, resulting in the sneers of those who hated him. Now he was going to get it. He got away with being rude the first time, he won't get away with being rude a second time. But instead of yelling and making a fuss, the king merely bowed and asked a question. "How will you do that? How will you fix the issue of killing the Overseers. With all due respect the Overseers had many responsibilities, not just going to war. Power can't fix this, but power is necessary."
"Hm, I guess you aren't dumb. Of course I can't do everything the Overseers did alone. I could just destroy the world."
This shocking statement came out of the skeleton's mouth so casually, it's slumped body all of a sudden looked like something they would want to punch to death. Ultimately, everyone would put their grudges aside to destroy someone who wanted to destroy the world. It would only benefit them. Plus, everyone here held something in this world close to them.
"Or, I could assign subordinates of mine to take the positions of Overseer. Take the spider you saw, I don't use it much. It's not dumb and it has extreme fighting capabilities. There are many more servant of mine that have the same capabilities as him."
....
Silence. Someone has many powerful subordinates? How scary!
"But other than that, I prohibit anyone from going to war without my approval. That's only for now. We are also creating a new form oh kingdom ranking. This will be explained soon. But for now, good bye!"
Everyone was teleported to their respective kingdoms with a wave of his hands. When they arrived, they saw a portal with a undead standing next to it. The skeletons explained that they will guard the portals and ensure that nothing will happen to them. It was also explained that the portals are a way back to the skeleton kingdom's gates.
