Wife Of A Hundred Specters- Part 2 [Na'arvi]

Na'arvi remembered how devotees flooded the South Arya temple to pay their respects on other evenings. This evening, the temple was eerily silent and vacated. The royal guards flanked the entire path, up to the bottom of the stairs that led to the congregation hall. Minister Chakrayu paced up and down on top of the stairs and then stopped when he saw Na'arvi approaching. The temple priest waited beside him, looking displeased, whispering something into the minister's ears.

"My queen," Chakrayu bowed when Na'arvi reached the top of the stairs. The two flower girls behind her, carrying the large lotus bowl, tried to hide from the glare of the temple priest. "We have dismissed the visitors for the rest of the evening. And…." Chakrayu traded an uneasy glace with the priest, "we have settled…the king….inside the sanctum as you requested."
