Everything went awkward towards Faridah and Kyle after that rejection of marriage that Faridah answered.
The grand lobby of the five-star hotel was bustling with life, yet Faridah's family huddled in their corner, their attention glued to Faridah and Kyle.
The two stood a few feet apart, their interactions stilted and awkward. Faridah avoided Kyle's gaze, while Kyle fidgeted with the cuff of his shirt, pretending to be engrossed in the intricate designs of the marble floor.
Faridah's Cousin, Gabriel Hamilton, narrowed his eyes. "What's up with those two? They were fine just this week, but now it feels like they can't even be in the same room without making it weird."
Her mother, Mrs. Feliz, glanced from Faridah to Kyle, then back to Faridah. "Did they have a fight? Faridah didn't mention anything to me, but something is definitely off."
Before anyone else could speculate further, Keteki, ever the observant assistant, stepped forward with a knowing look. Clearing his throat, he said, "I believe I can shed some light on this... delicate situation."
All eyes turned to him, and Keteki adjusted his glasses, speaking in his usual precise tone. "It appears that Mr. Kyle proposed to Faridah last night unexpectedly, I might add that she turned him down."
A gasp rippled through the family. Solis nearly choked on her water, and Mrs. Hamilton clutched her pearls dramatically.
"She what?" Mrs. Feliz hissed, lowering her voice but still sounding alarmed. "Why would she reject such a lovely boy? He adores her!"
Keteki held up a hand to calm the impending storm. "It was a misunderstanding, I assure you. Faridah was caught off guard and didn't feel ready to give an answer. I believe she regretted her response almost immediately, but neither of them knows how to approach the other now. Hence the… awkwardness you're all witnessing."
Mr. Alexander Hamilton, Faridah's father leaned back, his lips pressed into a thoughtful line. "Well, we can't just leave them like this. They're clearly perfect for each other. If Faridah needs time, fine, but this atmosphere is unbearable!"
Gab smirked. "Are you saying we meddle? Because I'm all for meddling."
Keteki gave him a pointed look. "Not meddle but rather strategize. A subtle plan to guide them back to one another. But perhaps after the Hamilton Auction tomorrow; we don't want to distract them before such an important event."
Mrs. Feliz nodded, her determination solidifying. "Fine. We'll wait until after the auction. But once that's done, we're fixing this mess. Keteki, I trust you'll handle the details? I will tell her grandparents about this after the auction."
Keteki smiled faintly. "Of course, ma'am. I already have a few ideas in mind."
As the family leaned in to brainstorm, Kyle glanced at them curiously from across the room. Faridah, catching sight of her family's plotting expressions, groaned inwardly, already suspecting they were up to something.
She glance at Kyle who was busy with his phone like he had something important to do that being with her.
"I'm hungry..." she started as Kyle stopped typing on his phone. Little did she know that what he was writing is about a new recipe that he will create to get Faridah's heart.
Kyle Anthony Greyson is not that easy to be rejected in fact he came this far already and he is not giving up on her.
"I will tell Keteki to get you some food." Kyle said as Faridah sighed sadly knowing that what she wants is a food that Kyle especially made for her.
"You know that that is not what I meant right?" Faridah asked as Kyle looked at her intensely.
"Fariiii!" her grandmother approach Faridah with a hug as she smiled at Kyle.
"Ohhh this must be the promising man that your parents talk about," Her grandfather said as he shake hand with Kyle.
'Rather than being the promising man I rather be called as someone that Faridah Hamilton rejected with.' Kyle thought as he smiled fakely in front of her grandparents.
"I'm Kyle Anthony Greyson, It is my pleasure to meet you." He said as Faridah's parents approach them as they proceed on discussing about the up coming auction.
"The Lim's auction was held in a different way." Gab said as he presented a picture. "
"Kyle and I will be going back to Canada since Kyle have a class. We will be back in the auction day." Faridah said as Kyle looked at her.
"You can just stay here if you have too much to do. I can go home by myself." hearing such thing from Kyle, Faridah glared at Kyle.
"Keteki, Book a flight for us back to Canada tonight. Kyle have a class tomorrow." Faridah said not listening to Kyle's suggestions.
"Hmmm, What are you doing now will reflect on what will you do tomorrow." Solis said partaining to Faridah's sudden decision after all they needed her to be around until the Auction happens. Her mind and their action will lead the Hamilton's Auction into a success.
"Call me if anything bad happens," she said as Solis and Gab knew that there is not stopping her with her decision making and that she will go back home with Kyle.
"Nahh we'll be okay especially that Gab and Solis are here to assist us." her grandparents reassured as Kyle looked worried about it.
That night, Faridah was taking a break into her room while Keteki was outside waiting for her to call him since Faridah didn't eat anything the entire day.
"Keteki,..." Kyle called with a tray in his hands. "Finally you decided to make her a meal huh?" Keteki asked as he smiled at him.
"I'm sorry for causing you problems this time Keteki." Kyle said as Keteki just smiled at him and nodded. He knew that Kyle doesn't mean any harm towards Faridah or the Hamilton's.
"I hope the both of you would fix these misunderstanding." Keteki said as he opened the door for him as he went inside Faridah's hotel room.
The smell of fresh flowers and mint toothpaste were around the room as Faridah was in her bathrobe drinking wine while looking at the city lights in Paris.
"You finally decided to feed me huh," Faridah said as Kyle put down the tray on the table.
"I don't know what you want from me but if your not going to marry then I have nothing to offer at all. I am not rich, I have loans and I am in a huge debt. Problems, I will only offer you problems." Kyle said as Faridah looked at him as she takes a sip on her wine.
"Problems huh, I don't mind at all as long as you stay with me." she said as Kyle stopped.
"Your saying such sweet things after rejecting me huh?" Kyle asked since he was also confuse by Faridah's actions towards him.
"Hmm what I'm saying is the truth after al. I won't mind it if your the problem." she said as she starts digging on her food that Kyle made for her.
"Just for you to know Faridah Hamilton I am not giving up just because I receive a single rejection. No, even if you make it into a hundred rejections I will not fall out of love with you and give up on you." he said firmly.
"I know." Faridah said smirking. "What do you mean you know?" Kyle asked. "After all if your willing to leave me alone you should have returned the blue diamond into my hand as a sign that your not going any further from this no assurance relationship." Faridah said a Kyle smiled.
"I said no for a reason, It doesn't mean that I didn't like you at all. In fact its the complete opposite of it." Faridah said as Kyle immediately hold her hand and kneel down in front of her.
"Then if that's true, Can you kiss me?" Kyle asked as Faridah raised her eyebrows.
"Your being cocky again huh?" Faridah said as Kyle smirked. "Can't you do a simple kiss now?" He asked provoking Faridah as Faridah grabbed his nape and kissed him on the lips gently.
As their lips parted Kyle smiled at her as he rest in his lap.
"Keteki will be here in a few minutes since we will go back home to Canada. Did you buy something for your Mom?" she asked as Kyle nodded. "I bought a few souveniers." He answered as Kyle stayed like that in Faridah's legs while she's eating the food he made.
"If ever we get married you know that you will be taking my surname right?" Faridah said as Kyle smiled. "Indeed, After all you wanted to continue the Hamilton's legacy." He said as Faridah smirked knowing that Kyle Anthony Greyson understands what she wants.
Faridah's family name symbolized strength and history, and Kyle understood how much it meant to her. Though unconventional, he felt proud of the decision, knowing it reflected their bond and his willingness to embrace her world as much as she embraced his.
Faridah's eyes glistened with gratitude as she finish her food, and in that moment, Kyle knew he had agree on something truly right for the woman he loved.
