Chapter One

Escaping to another world was just at the tip of my fingers. Either with a book, music, other forms of media, and most of all that came head to head with books was video games!

There were no new games in my hands so I ended up replaying ones I've already completed. The same would happen to books but I had a habit of constantly getting new ones as soon as I could, so I doubt any time soon I would be out of new books to read.

So why not instead read said books you ask?

I have no clue.

I went swiping away through my apps on my phone, stopping on "Night School". I was on the last character's ending, Jerakai. This was the twelfth time I completed all the endings of this game, still, they got me every time.

The way they threw themselves over me. No one in real life would do that if they weren't my family or friends. So my standards were quite high, maybe too high for a normal being to meet them. Meaning there was a high chance I would forever be single…. But that was okay! I had all of them to keep me company.

Just look at the way Jerakai's dimple poked out when he smiled at me. The way his locks fell to one side a little. And those deep brown eyes- He was just gorgeous!

"THALIA!!! GET THE DOOR, I THINK IT'S ABUELITA!"

I groaned and leaned over. "GET IT YOURSELF!" I yelled through the vent back at Leo.

As the youngest, you would think he understood he should help those older than him rather than trying to get me to do it. Not to mention he was already downstairs.

But as I was saying…

My lips curved up as I looked back at my screen. At last, this was the end, the confession scene good ending, where he feels the same.

I was about to throw my phone to the side for a moment to bury my face in my pillow to squeal about the moment then sigh long with some groans about it being over before a gift box popped up.

This had never happened before. Possibly all my hard work had paid off!

I clicked it with my thumb and the ruby-red, sparkly ribbon came undone, the top of the cream box vanished and confetti covered my screen.

You have just unlocked new stories, which means new endings and much more!!! Click the box to continue.

Of course, I clicked with no hesitation. And this all came to no cost to me!

At least that's what I thought.

In a blink of an eye, light flooded the room, so much it seemed everything was bright and I couldn't even tell that I was in my bed anymore, or recognize any distinct features of things in my room. When the light had finally disappeared I was in a room but it wasn't mine.

The phone in my hand wasn't mine either-

I dropped the phone onto the bed screaming bloody murder.

🦇 🦇 🦇 🦇 🦇

"You're being dramatic again, flanca." My "papá" shook his head walking into the room.

This was actually Leticia's room, her papá, and this phone as well.

The room was way too huge to be mine, along with this bed, that was also too comfy. Even the gown I had on seemed to be made from some expensive material.

I think I had played the game too long and just needed to "sleep" to wake up from this crazy dream. And what bad luck for a dream, I'm in one of my favorite games only to play a side character.

"I hope you don't plan on going to sleep, you have orientation to get to, remember?"

Did I really want to play this game? I mean, I wasn't playing as Spencer but this still was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Before I could open my mouth to reply, Palemon waltz in with a smile. I briefly caught a fang in that smile. "I'll make sure she gets there on time."

"What?! What happened to the maids?! I told one of them to come up here and urgh…" My "papá" stared at him for a while in distrust, before he glanced over to me. "Just make sure to be safe." His eyes fell back on Palemon and lingered on him as he left.

"Alright, let's go." He moved to the end of my bed and grabbed me by the ankles before I could react, and dragged me forward.

"HEY!!!" I squirmed and got one free, almost kicking his beautiful face with that mischievous smile but he got ahold of it again. And dragged me so far my feet could almost reach the floor.

This was supposed to be Lectica's friend since she was young. And now he was supposed to be mine. I'm not sure if all this friendly behavior was going to work in my favor or not, the same for this upside down lifestyle.

After I got myself together we were out in the chilly night- well after being driven halfway there before Palemon begged for us to walk normally.

"You're more quiet than usual." Palemon's eyes stayed ahead but I'm sure he had taken a few glances my way without me actually seeing him do it.

How was I going to play this part? I usually knew her as a rival for Palemon when I played his route and a friend in the others. And could be a friend in his route as well depending on the choices.

Overall, she was talkative, but not in a bad way, that's how she was able to make friends and more. While I on the other hand didn't just talk to just anyone. If I had no idea what to talk about you bet I would just stay quiet. It may have been awkward but I rather the awkward silence than me to do or say something foolish.

And in this case, all of the above plus ruining this character.

Maybe I should have gone to sleep after all. Before this whole thing turns into a nightmare.

"You're worrying too much."

My head whipped around to stare at Palemon in bewilderment.

"That's what you're doing right? Overthinking or something, just relax. You're not the only one forced to take night school."

Ah, I had forgotten about that… While Spencer accidentally signed up for it, Leticia- I was "forced".

I was thrown back into this reality, walking right into Palemon's back.

I clutched my nose glaring as I rubbed my face and noticed Spencer walking to the school, the center of attention. She was the only one out of uniform.

I moved around Palemon to peek at his face. His eyes were dilated and focused on hers. Glancing around I saw others doing the same. Some I recognized as characters I romanced while others were new faces. My eyes fell back onto Palemon, he was still bewitched by her.

And for a moment I saw his fangs out.
