Chapter 35: Blooms of Hope

“Serna!” Atrian seemed horrified.

“No,” Serna’s voice rose in pitch. “Why should we give anything to them? They ignore us, leave us to struggle, and now they want our help?”

Rowan stepped back to let Danik and Atrian handle the irate woman. Looking at Elduine and Tarik, she almost burst into laughter at the uncomfortable looks they were giving each other.

Serna was adamant, however, she cited every reason under the stars as to why the lilies couldn’t be shared.

Suddenly, Lea stepped forward.

“Sister,” she used an Elven term of endearment to quiet the enraged half-elf. “Look at me.”

Serna paused and Lea continued.

“You have your reasons to hate the other nations, but let me bring something to your attention. I worked in the house of Brynehaven, caring and tutoring the only daughter...Rowan.”

“Brynehaven...Reanin?” Serna frowned as she searched for the name.

“Yes,” “This is his daughter, Rowan. King Gregan took her in after Reanin died. She is now Queen.”
