Chapter 38: A Gentle Breath

Rowan groaned as Atrian ‘s voice drifted through the air, “General Tarik? It’s time to rise. “

General Tarik mumbled something not too coherent but very out of character.

Rowan giggled, but then groaned as the general sent Nora to make sure the queen was awake.

Grohl was up and had provisions for his friend and the Queen for their trip home. The sky was looking clear, so Atrian and the general were optimistic about the time it would take to get back to the palace. In a matter of minutes, the General, Rowan, Atrian, and provisions were getting ready to leave the Keep.

“My dear Queen,” Nora clasped her hands in front of her.

“Yes, Nora?”

“Do you still have Lea as your handmaiden?”

“Oh, of course! Lea is still with me.”

“She can tell you more about the bow. She helped your mother, and she will be able to help you.”

“I will speak with Lea. Thank you, Nora.”

General Tarik helped Rowan into the boat and Atrian pushed off.
