Chapter 11: Lily

"Do you think my eyes can hold the light of the moon?” Cleo stared deep into Ward’s dark eyes, eyes she could find herself getting lost in with no thought of returning to the real world. The wind whipped off the Atlantic and tugged at her hair, almost as if it were trying to pull them apart, but she wouldn’t permit it. Nothing was going to take her from his arms.

Ward smiled, caressing the side of her head, his eyes a soft expression of the passion he had planned for them as he gazed down at her. “I think your eyes could hold the light of a thousand moons and a million stars. Yet, even then, the constellations would pale in comparison to the sparkle in your eyes whenever I look at you.”

She placed her hand over his, pressing it softly against her. “If only this night could last.”
