Chapter 47: Willow

Nothing happening inside?” Willow asked, remembering Olivia leaving the hotel bar alone. She assumed the author was going to join up with her cover model and the others, but after peering inside at the display of drunken behavior taking place, Willow could understand why the woman chose to skip the activities.

Olivia paused and, from her look, Willow could tell the older woman was judging her appearance. She couldn’t really blame her. She knew she wasn’t the chicest dresser. She preferred more comfortable attire. She remembered well what she looked like as she left her room that evening before the Authors Mingle. She wore a beige corduroy skirt with a chocolate sweater, both appearing on the well-worn side. Her auburn hair, while brushed, still looked as if it needed attention, and she chose to skip the makeup. She did not appear to be the typical bar-hopper. She resembled exactly what she was, a bookworm.
