When they arrived at the palace, Clarissa was still contemplating how glad she was that Kieran arrived when he did. If not, she might have fallen for Greshinda's scam. 

She knew he couldn't close down the black market because it was still useful but she didn't get why he couldn't close down Greshinda's store or make her leave the kingdom. But she decided to leave it be. They had bigger problems to face than Greshinda. 

There was still the matter of his curse as well as the issue with the dark witches. 

She would have to write to Gabriella. 

Just before the carriage rolled to a stop, Clarissa placed a hand on his. "Your parents, where are they?"

He smiled mischievously. "I sent them on a little retirement." he chuckled seeing her expression thinking they were dead. "They're They'll be here for the wedding but not the engagement."

"Why?" Clarissa asked confused. Why couldn't they just attend the engagement ceremony as well.
