Trip down the memoryland

Leonardo looked at his grandfather who was now sleeping peacefully.

But the storm that was rising within him, made him feel suffocated. He held his grandfather's hands and cared the back of his hand. The old wrinkly hands have always held him when, he fell, always guided him when he need someone to direct him to the right path.

In short, his grandfather was his everything.

He still couldn't understand why the doctor was being so weird.

He did saw him walk out of his grandfather's room with a grin expression on his face, but she. he was asked what was the problem and why did he fainted suddenly, the doctor gave some lame excuse and walked away.

And he knew it much be his grandfather , who have warned him not to say anything about his deteriorating health. But what his grandfather forgot , was that he was his grandchild. If he was stubborn, he was ten folds more stubborn then he is.

And then when he decided to go d out about the whole thing. About the reason behind his grandfather's sudden illness.

[The little girl couldn't understand what was going on. She looked at her father as she was picked up by a man she has never seen in her life. She wanted to run and hug her father, but she knew something was not right. Her dadda never cries, but today she saw his eyes glossed in tears.

She could hear people scream all around the palace. She held the unknown man tightly as he opened the secret passage.

Just when they entered, she screams her father's name.

And before he could make it to inside the secret passage, a loud gunshot was heard and his body fell covering in a pool of blood.

"Save me , father " He screamed but Philips couldn't even move from his place. He wanted to ran and pulled her out from the burning fire that was inside the room but before he could even call for help, a blast occured. ]

King Philips woke up feeling breathless. The horrible nightmare, or rather a part of his memory never left him mind. If only he had the power to change the past, this would be be changing and erasing this horrible even from his life. They day when he lost his everything. And despite being the king, all he could do is watch it helplessly.

The guilt was high , and it had no cure to it.

He coughed loudly, and tried to look away from.tbe family photo frame ,that was hung just opposite to his bed.

It was already hard and now the ongoing events of his life has made it almost impossible for him to even breath.

He series of cough was getting unbearable and he felt breathless. He quickly opened the drawer next to his nightstand and got the inhaler.

Just then the door swung open.

"Grandfather?" Hearing Leonardo's voice he stilled. But he knew it was too late. His grandson has already seen what was going on.

Leonardo quickly rushed next to him and held his hand, trying to ease him by rubbing his back.

"Are you okay?" His voice cracked toward the end as he looked at his grandfather. The man who was more important to him than his own father. He was the reason why he is who he is.

If his parents have been his pillar of strength, the man infront of him was the core foundation without which ,he would have crumbled down easily.

Philips didn't miss the vulnerability in his voice as well as his eyes. He looked like the five year old Leo, who couldn't even spend a day without his grandfather.

Philips chuckled but nodded.

"I know your lying to me , grandfather. I know you. I have know you ever since I was born." He looked down, trying hard not show the vulnerable side of him, but it was hard. It was hard to think of a life with out his grandfather.

He wanted to slap himself for even having such thoughts.

"I am perfectly fine, Leo. Don't worry about me. But tell me what is bothering you so much." He turned his head and looked at Leonardo, who stilled for a second before looked everywhere but him.

"Who is she?"

Leonardo turned his head so quickly toward his grandfather that it almost gave him a wipsplash.

"She is no one."

"That means she must be the one." He smile at Leonardo, the wrinkle around his eyes was more prominent than ever.

"I don't want to talk about this , grandfather. I can here to talk with you about your health. What are you hiding, grandfather?"

The old king's smiled and looked at the happy family picture of their.

"Even if you ask me this question two hundred times, my answer would be same. I am perfectly fine, my sweet child. You go, rest. I don't want you to stress and worry over this old man. And yes, we aren't done with the conversation yet. Met me this evening in my room, we will talk about it. Okay ,young man?" Leonardo had no option but to agree to his fathers wish.

This wasn't the first time he was acting this was. His grandfather was always a mysterious man. And couldn't figure out why he did what he did.

He was so different than other royals. Special king's. He was king is true sense you was not just a ruler, but a worker who worked for the betterment of his state.

Leonardo sighed and unable to hold himself, he hugged his grandfather. Who chuckled and patted his back.

"Don't worry about me. Go now. You must have a lot of work to do. And yes, on your way, can you please call Henry to come here with my food?" Leonardo nodded and walked away , while the smile that was on Philips face dim and he looked down in sadness.

Oh, how cruel the game of fate is!
