Three Factions Meeting Part 2

"Now then, let's talk about these pillars and the missing sacred gears. Since that's one of the main reasons for this meeting, mind explaining it to us?" Azazel asked with a provocative smile. It was honestly a little irritating how his expression grated on her nerves.

"Sure. In short, through my evolution to become a Demon Goddess, I've gained the ability to transform people into Demon God Pillars. This process is the progenitor process to the peerage system. Instead of granting a stat based on a peerage piece, it takes the characteristics of the converted and creates a pillar ability for them. What happened to the missing sacred gears was their destruction and assimilation into the new pillar's ability. Due to destruction and assimilation being two of my powers, their power was added to the pillar creation process." She explained with a smile. There was no point hiding it now. Secrecy was long out the window, so it was best to reveal these details on her own terms.

Michael was silent, while Azazel looked more interested than anything else and started to ask his questions.

"So that's where those sacred gears went? They turned into pillar abilities when you converted their hosts?" Rias nodded. "So where did the boosted gear go? From the report, it stated that Euclid was the wielder after the boy was killed?" Azazel asked with a profound interest. Irina perked up at the question. She too was interested in where her friend's gear had gone.

"The Nereid Kyrie was being used on Euclid's other hand. He used it to control the boosted gear through its dragon taming powers. When we defeated Euclid, I detected a remnant soul inside the gear. Deciding it would make a great pillar, I used the recently acquired Graal's power to revive her and patch her soul up using my own as a template. The problem I didn't consider was that the two gears were still connected and the pillar process pulled the gear in as well. Since Ddraig was in a subservient state at the time and Ingvild's consciousness was the one designated as the new pillar, he was used as material for the process. In the process of that, she became the new heavenly dragon. I inherited similar traits through my assimilation ability." Rias stoically explained.

Widening their eyes, everyone beside the Sirzechs, Serefall, and Rias's party were surprised. More than surprised, the process she just described would change everything. With the power to manipulate life and create abilities, the devils just addressed the core of their problems.

"Has Adjuka found a way to recreate the process?" Azazel asked. His inventor mind was spinning like crazy.

"Not yet, the next time I create a pillar, I plan to do so in his lab. That way he can record the process. This shield just gave me the best opportunity"

"How long does this process take?"

"About a day. The initial cocooning happens in seconds. After that, they are absorbed into me to complete the process. About a day later they're good to go. I may need to keep them longer depending on the extent of their transformation though. Medusa will likely take longer since I will be messing pretty heavily with her core functions." Rias explained simply.

Michael looked her in the eye and asked the question prominently on his mind.

"With this combination of powers, do you think you'll be able to create angels?" He asked with a light tremble in his form.

With the question, everyone else in the room's eyes widened. They had never even considered the possibility. Why would a demon want to create angels? Then again, the same question had been asked by Sirzechs before, but in a different context; he wanted to know If they could recreate the old pillar abilities. Soon, Azazel had a similar question in mind.

Rias nodded. "I should be able to. I would just need an abundance of the race's respective energies. There is a problem though."

"What is it?" You could tell how important this was to him by the uncharacteristic impatience in his tone.

"If I do this, they likely will not be recognized as angels by the heaven's system. The bright side is that they can reproduce and won't be subject to falling. The down side is the obvious trouble your going to have telling which ones are honest and which ones aren't." She explained.

"That makes sense. Neither of us can access that portion of the system, so looking for them to be accepted by it is unrealistic. It might be a blessing though to have to re-evaluate the current way we perceive our fellow angels anyway. From what we've found recently, angels could avoid falling through self-hypnosis to convince themselves that spying on their faction was the correct course of action. The system goes by intent for treacherous actions after all. Is it possible to convert existing angels to the new breed?"

The others in the meeting were getting tired of being surprised. These questions Michael was asking would change the entire nature of the biblical faction.

"I can. It would simply be a matter of using fallen angels as a template and purging the corruption that heaven's system injects into their system during the fall."

"Corruption?" This time, it was Azazel who spoke, interrupting before Michael could respond.

"I can answer this." Valerie started, drawing the whole room's attention on herself. "I've done some research into the three races in this past month. It really helped that we were in the same place."

Azazel smiled, feeling a kindred spirit in the young vampire researcher. Michael shifted a little uncomfortably from not realizing his people were being observed to that level.

"It was mainly due to Rias's anticipation of this question. What I've found out is a darkness inside the wings of fallen angels. The funny thing about it is that the darkness bears a strong similarity to the light they use. From the conclusion we've drawn, it's that fallen angels receive a fraction of the remnant darkness Lucifer used to create the devils. When Lucifer did his work, all of heaven's light was removed. That's why devils are creatures of darkness. When Angels fall, about 10% of their light becomes darkness and blends back into it. That's why fallen have a tainted light. This is my running hypothesis since I haven't seen an angel personally fall, but by combining my principle of life and Rias's power of prophecy, I came about that answer." She explained. This was one of the benefits of not really having a new ability. She could spend more time doing research into stuff like this.

"It's certainly something to consider" Michael mumbled.

"Now then, let's put off further talks on the subject till after our next subject. Let's talk about creating a peace treaty. That would be the prerequisite for a lot of this anyway." Sirzechs interjected causing Rias and Michael to nod. Azazel however....

"Aww. But this is sooo interesting." He complained in a sarcastic tone. Everyone above Satan class could feel the spatial ripples bringing their adversaries to their doorstep. It was time for the show.
