Chapter 39

Let's backtrack a little,

When Duncan was still fighting the bloated zombie, the green banshee flew in rage. She looked down on the female human below her as she's ready to unleash her fury at Diane. Diane used her vines to strike at the flying banshee. Her vines bounced off on the air, a green protective barrier blocking Diane's attack.

The green banshee waves her hand. She projected green energy blades and pointed her hand at Diane. The green energy blades launched one by one towards Diane. Diane cleverly dodges through the green energy blades using the vines while simultaneously leaving a blue and red mark around the place.

"Stop dodging me!" the green banshee scream, her already long hair extended, separating into a section of sharp green-haired blade. "Die!" the green banshee strike down using her sharpened green hair. Together with the green energy blades, the green banshee hair proves too hard for Diane to continue dodging. Diane used her vine to grabbed onto a nearby pillar, zipping herself to it and using the row of pillars near her strategically to blocked the green banshee's relentless attack.

The more Diane dodges the green banshee attack, the angrier it gets. Seeing her opponents raging, Diane smirked intentionally at the green banshee, making her even more furious. "You're mocking me, aren't you? You're mocking me, right? You bastard, YOU BASTARD!" the green banshee raged; her scream was deafening. Even after wearing some ear-muff, Diane still wrenched from the green banshee scream.

"You scream too much", Dianne jabbed, then held her staff in front of her, "Be quiet for a second", she said when suddenly a giant fist made of vine appears on top of the green banshee, hitting her and slamming the green banshee to the ground. Although the green banshee was protected with a green energy barrier, the impact from the giant fist caused her to move, creating a crater on the ground.

"YOU!" the green banshee scream furiously. The green banshee shot herself up to the sky, looking at Diane with fiery rage in her eyes. The green banshee body lit up with bright green energy before unleashing a strong energy blast all around her body, flinging Diane backwards. The blast was so strong that even with the protection of her strong and sturdy vines, Diane still cannot hold on.

"Damnit!" Diane cursed, but she did not forget to leave a blue and red mark. Diane turned her head up, looking at the green banshee, "Oi, you green granny. You miss your strike", she taunted the green banshee. Hearing Diane's provocation, the green banshee got even more furious and madder. The banshee entire's being turned red from anger before bursting out in flames.

"You bitch! You fucking bitch!" the now red banshee cursed in a fury, "I'll make sure you don't die peacefully!" Flames rose from the red banshee feet, spiralling around her body before forming into a dragon as it launched itself towards Diane. Caught off guard, Diane quickly used her vines to cover herself. The fire dragon hit the vines, charring it completely black. The vines returned to the ground, revealing Diane with no scratch on her.

The red banshee got irritated seeing her attack does nothing to her opponent. Diane, though, thought differently. 'There goes my vines', she sighed, 'I haven't finished setting up yet. Guess it's time to do it the old fashioned way'. Diane readied up her staff, pointing towards the red banshee as a green magic circle appeared at the staff's tip. Diane shouted, "Wind Blast" a strong wind current slowly materialized from Diane staff's end before hitting at the red banshee.

The red banshee smirked, waving her hand as an oval protective barrier made from the banshee's red energy suddenly popped in front of her. The red oval protective barrier blocked Diane's strong wind current. Diane launched a fireball towards the red banshee right after she cast Wind Blast. The red banshee parried the fireball with ease before she formed a whip with her flames, striking at Diane.

"Oufff", Diane winced in pain as the red banshee's whip scratched Diane's left arm. The red banshee smile smugly, "Where are your vines? Is it too much for it to get hit by my flames?" she chuckled mockingly at Diane. "Yeah, yeah, kept talking" Diane just brushed off the red banshee provocation as she prepared another spell. A giant magic circle formed behind Diane's back. 'This is young miss speciality Diane smiled, "How about this, Fireball Barrage!"

An unmeasurable amount of fireball rushed towards the red banshee. The red banshee mockingly smiled, "Child play!" she screamed. The fireballs hit the red banshee protective barrier. Then, the red banshee suddenly felt something encroaching on her from behind. The red banshee hurriedly looked back, sending a fire blast behind her. However, the red banshee then felt an icy sensation behind her. A massive block of ice slammed itself at the red banshee, hitting her hard.

"ARGH!" the red banshee scream in pain as she fell to the ground. The red banshee looked miserable; blood dripped from her mouth. "I knew it!" Diane said happily, "You can smirk and smile smugly all you want, but you cannot defend and attack at the same time", she mockingly declared to the red banshee. Diane walked closer to the red banshee and saw her enclosed on ice. Diane readied up a spell on her staff, pointing it towards the encased red banshee, "Goodbye", she said, a fireball comes out of Diane's staff.

*BOOM*

The ice breaks off while Diane quickly jumped backwards. As the dust settles, Diane breathes a sigh of relief, "Now that's done, I need to check…." A scream interrupted Dinae as she felt a chilling sensation around the place. Diane suddenly jumped, then an ice spiked emerged from the ground. "Phew, that was close" Diane rubbed her sweat off before her eyes turned wary.

"You dare hurt me!" the red banshee flew up high in the sky. "You dare! Human scum, you're definitely going to die from my hands!" a blue hue surrounds the red banshee, turning her red-skinned slowly blue. Then icy mists materialize out of nowhere, filling the room with a chilling white smoke. Diane kept vigilant around her surrounding.

Diane then felt something approaching her. An icicle flew from an unknown direction towards Diane, though Diane managed to dodge it thanks to her vigilance. However, just as Diane managed to avoid a single icicle, another one flew from her back. Diane manages to dodge the icicle, albeit barely. Then, another one popped out from beside the elven lady. Diane steps backwards, but, at the same time, another one flew towards her from the front. While an icicle flew towards Diane, another one formed above Diane and another one beside Diane and another one and another one; eventually, the icicles surrounded Diane.

"I'm fucked", Diane let out a painful smirked as she braced herself on what to come. She casts a spell to protect herself, but an icicle was already homing towards her. *BANG* an icicle hit something, then another one flew towards Diane with a bang. The icicle continues to form as it flew towards Diane endlessly.

After a while, the mists cleared up, revealing the blue banshee's smug smile. The blue banshee looked down below at the icicle mountain that she created. The blue banshee felt pleased and proud of the icicle mountain below her. She laughed out loud, "Hahaha, take that, you filthy bitch. I told you that you're going to die by my hands, I told you!" she danced with glee.

The blue banshee flew down; she then walked slowly towards the icicle mountain. The blue banshee wanted to enjoy her works and to see the human female's agony. The blue banshee leaned down and was surprised. Her face turned from glee to irritated before she screamed in a fury. She flew up, searching for the female human that managed to escape her.

Then, four giant vines emerge from the ground, shooting straight at the blue banshee. The blue banshee wanted to retaliate, but a fireball out of nowhere interrupted her. The four giant vines slowly wrapped around the blue banshee. The elven lady slowly emerged from the ground, her hair white, and her body was shivering thanks to the cold mist and ice.

Diane sneezed, "You crazy woman. Why do you have to make this place so cold? Don't you see what I'm wearing!? I don't bring my sweater, dang it!" she stomped her feet. The blue banshee wanted to scream her lungs out, but the vines quickly covered her mouth. She didn't give up, though, as she tried to freeze the vines wrapping around her body. The blue banshee eyes widen as she noticed her energy leave her.

Looking at the blue banshee expression, Diane smile joyfully, " You can't do anything, can't you? That's a special kind of vine. I kept them exactly for situations like this", she sneered. Diane breathes a sigh of relief, "I'm done with this. Away with you!" she claps her hand, the vines, then slammed the blue banshee to the ground towards the blue and red symbol that Diane prepared earlier. "You! I curse YOU!" the blue banshee let out a final scream before her body was slammed at the ground. Looking at the blue banshee scream desperately, Diane clicked her tongue, "Oh, I'm an elf, by the way, not a human", she said with disdain. The mark Diane left earlier lit up as an explosion of ice and fire engulfed the area.

After, Diane found that her surroundings fuzzed out. She found herself back at the prison, but inside a jail cell. She watched as a rainbow orb slowly formed on the wall of the jail cell. Diane picked the rainbow orb and put it inside her pouch. She walked towards the cell door and tried opening it. No matter what she does, however, the cell door won't budge.

Diane looked worriedly outside, praying in her heart, "Please be safe, young miss….."
