Chapter 31

Remi was starting to leave the world of dreams, slowly becoming more and more aware of her surroundings. Aware of the faint light that filtered through the thick stone gray curtains of the ample room. Or of the extremely soft touch of the silky sheets that matched the color of that curtains. She had never been in a bed so comfortable, so smooth. She smiled unconsciously while she stretched under the sheets, noticing the bed cold when her legs and arms reached where she hadn’t been sleeping.

Her eyes finally opened being met with a very high ceiling, although by now she wasn’t as surprised by the height anymore. After all, most of Hugo’s house had such tall ceilings. Again, she scanned its golden motives that had a strong contrast against the dark color they were painted on.
