“I thought I had treated you well, Remi” Alik said, and even though his tone was softer it still conveyed his anger. Having almost previously shouted at her, Remi didn’t get fooled by his foul attempt on being nice now. Instead, she kept sitting, maintaining his look with a blank face while she let him keep venting out “Is this how you think of us? After giving you everything you have, you go and search for the fund in someone else’s company?” he asked again, his spiteful tone being more obvious again.

“No, Mr. Doumas, I—” she began, but it only angered him more, so he cut her off, smacking his hand on his desk.

“You work for me, Remi. You signed a contract. How dare you” he said, a vein slightly popping on his forehead.
