Consternation

In a moment, they were sitting inside the pink Jeep Wrangler. The car was conspicuous; fortunately it had heavily tinted windows, so no one from the outside could see who was sitting inside.

“What an interesting automotive taste!” Mike commented with a sneer.

“My brother is a really ‘specific’ man!” Elen laughed.

“Undoubtedly!”

“Shut up, Mike! You should be grateful that she came with help.” Jo reacted to their conversation; she turned and gave him a meaningful glare.

“I am, very. Thanks Elen.”

“No problem, guys. Saving people from oppression has been my almost full-time job lately.”

“Are you going to join the forces with your brother?” Jo asked mockingly.

“I am considering that, since I could make good money.”

“Don’t leave me, Elen. I don't know if I could do without you.”

“I wouldn't be surprised if you were the first to change jobs.”
