“HE REMEMBERS”

"HURRY up they are downstairs already, waiting for us," it was Ara who finished packing her things.

"Are they in a hurry?" she may not even admit it but her chest began to throb abnormally but she tried to ignore it.

"It doesn't matter anymore, I'm very hungry," Ara said rather.

Jenny just laughed softly at what she heard then stood up. As they walked down the stairs of the building she tried to calm herself. She tried to normalize her actions and somehow she did it. If there was anything she could not control, it was the strong thump of her chest. And it intensified even more when she finally saw the man who for her is the most handsome of all she had ever seen.

"Hello, sorry if we made you wait," Ara said when they approached Jason and Daniel.

She saw Jason's eyes immediately on her and she shuddered there. The seems to be a magnet in his eyes are different. And she even has this feeling that even if she doesn't sleep, it's okay as long as she would be able to see Jason's beautiful eyes.

"It's okay," Jason smiled and glanced at Ara then turned his gaze back to her. "So, she's the one you say is your friend?" he continued then shifted his gaze between her and Ara.

Ara nodded. “Yes, she is Jenny. Jen, meet Jason and Daniel, ” Ara added.

"How are you?" Daniel was the first to reach out his hand to her while smiling.

"I'm good, nice to meet you guys," she replied.

She even secretly congratulated herself because despite the intense nervousness she felt she was still able to deliver her sentence normally.

"I remember you, you're the one in the library aren't you?" Jason held out his hand to her.

This time Jenny quickly felt skeptical. Whether or not she will accept Jason's hand. But eventually, the young lady still chose the right one. She accepted his handshake despite the intense discomfort that she felt.

"Let's go?" that was Daniel.

Then they finally started walking. They were about to leave the gate of the university when Ara suddenly spoke.

“Really? Have you met before? How long have you known each other? ” Ara's subsequent question.

She did not speak. She thought that Jason might answer that question and the young man did not disappoint her.

“Not formally but yes, we met before at the library. I remember her name because I looked at it on her library card when she took her things from the baggage counter,” Jason explained then accompanied her steps.

Jenny didn't say a word to Jason. She just gave him a shy smile then turned her gaze back to the road she was walking on.

She did not know if it is because it is the first time she came with them but Jason has been very hospitable to her.

But since she noticed that he also treats Ara just like how he treats her, Jenny then thought not to give a different meaning to all the kindness he shows because as a matter of fact, it's their first formal meeting.

They were walking back to their school when the young man and she had the opportunity to be alone. She was the one who was accompanied by Jason, while Daniel was with Ara.

"Where do you live?" Jason asked her. “Aren't you having a hard time with your paper bag? Give it to me, I'll just carry it for you,” he added, tried to take the paper bag she was carrying.

“Oh no, I'm okay, it's not heavy. These are my books,” she replied, taking her hand with the bag she was carrying away from the young man.

"Tsk, give it to me," he insisted so in the end she did nothing but give what Jason wanted. "Where do you live?"

She had heard him ask that question from the young man. She just chose not to answer because of the discomfort she felt. But because he seems interested to get her reply, she has no other choice but to answer it.

“It's close from here, just a ride with a jeep. But sometimes when I still have a little time and I'm not in a hurry I just walk,” she said.

Jason nodded. "Is that so?"

Jenny did not speak and instead, as she often does she just smiled at the young man.

Jason is handsome.

Moreno, his dark eyes are beautiful, gorgeous thick eyebrows, his eyelashes are long, proud and perfect nose and curly black hair.

The young man's manly aura is matched to his height which she thinks is at six feet. Jason is in good shape and it is obvious in his school uniform.

“Why you are really shy and quiet? I'm sorry, I just noticed,” a moment later she heard Jason say.

Jenny could not stop the gentle and low chuckle that ran down her throat because of the young man's question. She then nodded in response to Jason's question.

"I'm sorry, are you bored already?" she said.

The young man shook his head. "It's okay, with your beauty, I can tolerate you being so quiet and so shy," he said in a kind tone while smiling.

Jenny felt the warmth on both of her cheeks because of what Jason had said. That kind of compliment was not new to her, but also because it came from Jason, this time she could not help being affected.

*****

AMUSE, Jason stared at Jenny's beautiful face. He was aware of his secret feelings for Ara, but despite that fact, there was something in Jenny that he could not explain. And he also has to admit that for him, this is the most beautiful woman he has ever met and seen.

That's true.

At their first meeting, he noticed it right away and that was the reason why he could not stop himself from looking at the young lady's name on her library card even though Jenny saw him when he did.

Ara is beautiful, especially her eyes and even her blonde hair.

But Jenny's beauty is different. This is the type that can be as called timeless beauty for it is not tiring to look at and even as the young lady ages, he knows that beauty will remain.

Jenny is also tall. Her height reaches beyond his shoulder, which he estimates is five feet and six inches. A white and very beautiful complexion that glows when she is in the sun. Her hair is dark with large curls at the end reaching up to the upper part of the young lady's waist.

"Your hair is beautiful, like Goldilocks' hair," when he could not bear it any longer he chose to say that.

"Thank you, I inherited my hair from my mother," she replied then smiled sparingly.

“Where are you going to stay? Are you going back to your classroom already? ” he asked Jenny again.

Jenny shook her head. “In the library, I will read for our next lesson. Then I am also finishing my research for my report next week. ”

"Why you are very diligent with your studies," he said in an admirable tone.

"It is necessary since I do not want to lose my scholarship," Jenny replied.

Jason's admiration intensified when he heard Jenny say that. "Are you a scholar?"

Jenny nodded. “Yes, the scholarship given to me by this school is full. That is why I need to study hard so that I can continue studying here, or otherwise, I might not be able to study anymore. But of course, because I want to graduate, maybe I will just look for a state university that I can transfer to in case that happens. But I hope not,” Jenny's long statement was followed by a weak laugh.

"Wow, you're impressive, how many women are like you nowadays?" that is true within him.

"Thank you," was Jenny's only response.

THAT lunch was the beginning of her and Jason being close to each other. There are even times when they have lunch together, especially when Daniel and Ara are both on-duty.

"Jen!"

One day she was in the library and busy reading a book. Jason's familiar voice made her chest throb automatically.

"Jason!" she said raising her head then smiling as she watched the young man approach the table she was occupying.

"Busy?" he asked sitting in the chair opposite her.

Jenny shrugged her shoulders. "Always," she said chuckling softly.

"Have you had a snack yet?" he asked her.

Jenny shook her head consecutively. "I'm still full," she said.

“Come on let's eat, my treat,” Jason offered her.

"Oh no there's no need for that, I'm fine," the young lady refused.

In many cases, since the two of them became close, Jason always pays for her food every time they eat lunch or snacks together.

“Tsk, are you still ashamed of me until now? Let's go?" Jason repeated in a tone the young lady had memorized.

"Okay, but it would be better if it would be my treat this time," Jenny thought to say.

Jason shook his head at what she said. "It's just a small thing, as long as you are here with me, that is more than enough."

Jenny thought of nothing to answer with what the young man had told her. She is too happy and cannot see any reason to refuse what Jason wants to happen.
