Chapter 15

Dream...

“Get out of here, you unlucky child!” My mother cried. She threw stones at me. Hit my arm, cheeks and legs.

“Mom, you're the only one I have! I beg you, don't let me go! I'll do everything. Just don't let me go! Mom!” I sobbed pleading with my mother. The neighbours hated us because my mother was a prostitute. And I'm just an illegitimate child. If mom had used her brain, this would not have happened. Because the heart is in force. I ask her what happened, but she doesn't talk to me.

When it was because of me that she left. What do I know? I was still in her womb at that time. The problem is that men can't be satisfied with one woman.

My mother found out that the man she loved had a wife, according to the neighbour. It's a good thing the neighbour knew the story of my mother’s life. Not like me. I was just unlucky in my mother's story.

If I hadn't been born, it wouldn't have left her.

“No! Go away, go to your father! I'll be fed then! This, oh!” She threw the photo of my father at me. On the back of the photo is written the address where my father allegedly lives. A man in his mid-40s, I think is a businessman, he is very rich in his posture.

“But mom, you're the one I want to be with!” Mom was crying as I put my things together. Puts in a backpack bag. I grabbed her hand, but she just pushed me away.

“Mom, don't do that oh! Please, I can't do it without you.” Little by little I heard her sob. She just sat on the floor with me. I feel sorry for her, we shouldn’t have suffered this without male crooks. Even my mom is just a prostitute, they need to be punished. This is the only place my mother can work because she has no education.

“My daughter, please. This is for your future, if we're together you won't get anywhere in life, arrogant people will only belittle you, I don't want you to know what happened to me. My daughter, I just want you to you'll get better. “ I couldn't stop crying. My mother held both my cheeks. Her finger wipes the runaway tears running from my eyes.

“I promise mom, I'll come back to you. I'll give you a luxurious life, no one will belittle you because they're higher than us! That's a promise mom!”

“Mom!” I get up and turn around.

My mother!

“Nightmare?” His deep voice filled my ears. His face was worried when I opened my eyes.

“Yeah, my mom, when can I see her again?”

“Shh, you'll see her soon too.” He comforted me.

His sturdy arm wrapped around me. He hugged me tightly. Grace and I were still at home, she immediately opened up to me as soon as I opened my eyes. Grace is no longer in bed.

There is a typhoon today, so the school announced that there will be no class for today, for our safety. But if there is no school, I still have work.

“Hey, breakfast lovebirds!” said Grace who I guess was from the kitchen.

We immediately parted in the embrace due to its sudden entry.

“Sure!” Dylan stood up first. But I did not follow him. I haven't washed yet, I even have a morning star eh.

“MJ!” I heard Grace shout at me. The strength can scream early in the morning. Fortunately, the houses are not close to each other. If not always scold this one.

“Yes, I'm coming down!” I shout back here. I just wiped my face and then left the room. Grace and I slept in the bedroom, Dylan on the sofa and Grace and me on the bed. A fragrant smell of dry wafted into my nose as I entered the kitchen.

“I'm sorry, daii. Manang and I are saving now, so ... let's tuyo first!” Smiling at this promise then she sat down.

“It's okay, that's delicious!” I am amazed at the answer to this.

One of the things I liked about Grace, she loves to explore new things, new food to be exact.

This is what I like most about her. I even took it to street foods once, and she was happy. She almost ran out of manong's merchandise then.

“Here you are,” Dylan tapped the chair next to him. Here I go, he said because we can start again. I want that setup, but I'm still thinking about something. If I knew in myself that I wouldn’t have been hurt in the past. Maybe not. Can start again. Every person deserves a second chance. God forgives, we can still be human.

“Are you still busy even when it's stormy?” Dylan whispered. Grace's face immediately lifted from the nod due to the focus on her food. She glared at her best friend. Dylan doesn't seem to know Grace's policy every time she eats. It seemed like only air came out of Dylan's mouth when he said the word sorry and signed peace. We were both hands-on, even though Grace and Dylan were having a hard time, it still imitated me.

I told them that it is difficult to eat tuyo when spooned. Well, they tried but they didn't succeed. They don't want to believe. Maybe manang biday didn't inform them. When it was over, I also answered Dylan’s question that I was still busy. Schoolwork is different.

“I'll bring you there,” he offered me because I'm going home to the dorm to get dressed to go to my work. This set-up is tiring, but I can't do anything because this is the life that was given to me.

“All right,” I nodded to him then walked out the door of Grace's house first. But, strong lightning greeted me as soon as I came out of the door. I let out a scream. Until .... Everything went black .....
