Drive it off

[Haha! Suprise, you've been japed (it was different to what you were expecting.) I have actually been working during the little free time that I have to make a little mass release for you blokes. I bet you didn't see this one coming!]

Watching the approaching storm with cold and calculating eyes, Mizuki felt a shift in the mana below deck.

Narrowing her eyes, Mizuki clenched her hand into a fist and heard multiple yelps of pain.

The crew did not realize as their senses were not as keen as their captain's.

Looking back towards the storm that kept increasing in speed the closer it got, Mizuki went to check on the crew.

"Have you finished yet?" she asked.

"Yes, almost done captain." Eric responded.

"Hurry it up then. I doubt that we can kill it but we should be able to drive it off."

Taking a glance at the expressions of some of crew, Mizuki's eyes turned even more cold.

"If you plan to use the chaos to escape and leave the others to fight alone, leave the coin and use the rowboat below deck."

A few pairs of eyes widened as others took a glance towards those who Mizuki glanced at.

Those of course being Tomi and Maryse.

"Not that you'll have a bigger chance at surviving out there."

Hearing their captain's still monotone voice criticizing her and her childhood friend, Maryse snapped as Tomi looked away with regretful eyes.

"Listen here you little brat! I do not care what noble family you are from or how you got that strong but I really dislike your tone right now!"

Mizuki didn't even bother to look at her.

"You are just a small child who doesn't know anything about the real world! When people are faced with an unparalleled might, they run and escape in fear of death even if they have to leave their friends. They do not just stand there while forcing the others to die with them!"

'This idiot is going to get killed.' was the thought of Natyr as she saw this escapade.

"You are not even half the size of an adult and yet you decide to play 'pirate captain'? An actual captain knows when to retreat and when to fight, a real captain is not some little f*cking brat!"

'What does size have to do with it?' Tomi thought as he spared a glance towards the captain, hoping her next movement would not stop them from making any in the near future.

A gunshot was heard, followed by a series of thuds on the hard wood of the main deck.

Maryse lost a leg and fell down to the main deck from the helm, down the stairs.

"...Anyone else want to call their last chance at survival on this ship a brat?"

Silence..

All that could be heard was the approaching lightning and rain.

Mizuki turned to the unconscious bleeding body and froze her wound.

She turned towards Tomi.

"Throw her in the brig with the others." as she threw him a key of ice.

'Others?' he thought with confusion while catching the the key.

Turning towards the unconscious body, Tomi walked towards her picked up the body and carried her below deck without even trying to look towards the rest of the crew.

"Now that they are taken care of, Salon. Open the barrel and load the cannons."

She started walking to the helm of the ship.

"When the outline of the beast is seen, fire at will."

...

As 'captain' Hinami was silently plotting her crew's escape with Lia they stopped as they heard a voice slowly growing in volume, approaching.

"I really don't get it Maryse. Why did you go off on the captain like that? You are extremely lucky to still have the entire upper half of your body right now, remember Mason?"

The voice that slowly grew louder and louder was most definetly Tomi, not that the imprisoned crew could know.

"Oi, cap'n. It sounds like two are approaching it does, but only a single pair of feet is walkin' I hear."

"Yeah. It could be the one who made this spell and the one who imprisoned us.. it could also be one of 'them'." Lia stated before Hinami could speak.

"After all this time? I wouldn't believe it. If it were one of them the spell would be tier 5 at least." Hinami protested.

"..True."

"Anyway, enough about the past for now. Let's just meet our captor first."

Everyone in the cells then shut their mouths and silently gazed towards the stairs leading out, hearing heavy footsteps growing louder.

"God. This place is still terrifying. Thank the good lords above that I got this fear resistance skill.. don't worry Maryse, I'll talk to the captain to try to ease your punishment, I think losing a leg is already pretty severe."

The crew heard a soft voice and moments later saw a pair of feet coming down the stairs.

Following the pair of boots that sounded like more than 100 kg pounding on wood, a third boot appeared, but this time it was floating.

"Okay. This here should be the place, I'll get you a blanket later. It's earily cold. I wonder what the captain ment when she said oth- HOLY F*CKING **** ******** ****!"

From Tomi's point of view, he saw tens of pirates that looked more like vikings and barbarians behind bars of ice, glaring at him with enough hate and killing intent to make a grown 70 year old man take a seat and p*ss himself.

"..."

A second of silence, and then.

"Why the HELL didn't captain say ANYTHING about a bunch of VIKINGS in the brig when she sent me DOWN here!?!"

A miniscule moment of silence as a stare off was happening between a terrified 'pirate' and about 30 confused 'vikings'.

Before anyone situated in the cells could say a word, Tomi... yelled

"FEAR RESISTANCE AIN'T ENOUGH FOR THIS!!"

... and then left, running.

The previous slow and heavy steps resumed, followed by a loud thud, like someone falling face first on the hard wooden floor.

After the heavy *thud*, the steps stopped for a moment and then continued sounding much less heavy than before. Like throwing a backpack on the ground when getting home.

Hinami and her crew sat there in silence.

"Captain I don't think he knew we were down here."

"Yeah no sh*t."

...

"Captain! I placed Maryse at the second bottom most staircase and tied her up with a rope, there is a terrifying group of vikings in the cells. They were too full to fit anyone else there."

"... It's fine. I'll take care of them after we drive off 'that'."

Mizuki, who didn't take her eyes off the storm for even a second, then started giving orders.

"Everyone get on the cannons. Aim up until the cannon just barely blocks the sun and press the black button on it's side. No need to aim directly at the beast, It's hard to see inside of the storm anyway."

Natyr, Salon and Eric were already following orders and were at the cannons, aiming them the best they could.

"Tomi don't lag behind. Chop chop. I don't plan to die just yet" said Eric without even granting Tomi a glance.

Tomi ran to the only free cannon and started aiming.

"On my command, fire. One.."

A streak of lightning flew past the head of Salon, almost beheading him.

"Do not hesitate, I am impeding the trajectory of the lightning. Two.."

In the storm, you could see the outline of a large sea beast. Two dragon like wings folded on it's back and heads emerging from the water one by one. 9 in total.

".. Three... FIRE!"

Four grey/black smoking cannon balls were heading straight for the beast, suprisingly enough 3/4 hit directly while the last only scratched it.

The cannon balls did not hold any mana, the cannons did but the balls were completely normal, exept the fact that they all had a single drop of Mizuki's blood infuzed with them.

The places were the hydra was hit slowly started to grow mold, disintegrate, age.

The blood of a high rank being is enough to destroy the ecosystem of an enire continent if spilt in heavy amounts. It was honestly suprising that the hydra's entire body wasn't withering.

The storm, along with the beast itself stopped in it's tracks. The closer it got to the source of that blood, Mizuki, the more it's wounds would fester.

Diving down to the depths, the hydra left out a powerful stream of air and water towards the ship and... escaped.
