Fares fell on the ground, panting. He had to use almost all of his energy to pull this off, along with absolute focus, which was too tiring on his mental capacity. It was the feeling of being exhausted after 8 hours of sedentary work.
After recovering some more, he moved towards the earth dome he made. Inside, Zena was lying over Smooka breathing heavily, her face in too much pain. While Smooka could not move, except for breathing.
Fares sat beside them on the ground, took out a normal Raptor orb, and started cultivating. After he filled up his leg nodes, his cultivation did not increase on using the Raptors orbs, he did not even feel the warmth from the orbs anymore. Regardless, he could still use it to recover his energy on a faster basis.
Thirty minutes later, Fares opened his and a glint of freshness could be seen in it. He then turned around and looked at both Zena and Smooka, he infused his eyes with energy and used it to look at their energy flow.
He saw that Smooka's energy flow became arrhythmic, unlike how he usually was. As for Zena, her energy flow was normal, but her physical body was in a bad condition. Fares then went to the one with the most critical injuries, Smooka.
He placed his hands on Smooka's furry back and injected him with energy, using a continuous inflow and outflow of energy, Fares could make out a few damaged internal organs. He tried to remember what he learned about animal biology when he was writing an assignment about the difference between humans and animals in his human biology class.
Using that knowledge, he started providing energy on molecular levels for the damaged cells to heal the organs. It took quite a lot of concentration and energy, since Smooka was, after all, on a higher level than him, for now.
Another hour later, Fares finished healing the last organ and saw Smooka's breathing return to normal, but he was still unconscious. Fares popped another orb into his mouth, and after cultivating it for a while, he proceeded to heal Zena.
He put his hands on her bare stomach, injected energy into her. In Zena's case, it was much easier since his energy was far superior to hers, also human anatomy was one of his specialties that he had memorized by heart.
Fixing her broken bones first, Fares injected it and the kidneys with energy to increase their productivity, thus increasing blood components and help her body to heal itself. Since her pain was milder, he decided to let her body adapt to these kinds of painful situations.
Half an hour later, her body had fully healed, but she still was unconscious.
Fares then got out of the dome-like tent and moved towards the Saltasaurus' body. He used his sword to slice off the part of the neck still attached to the torso until he reached upon an indigo orb with a hint of blue inside it. The orb was huge, as big as a human head.
He then chiseled off a huge part of the tough skin on its back, using its much weaker insides as a start point. The skin there was at least a meter thick and did not feel like skin at all, it felt more like stones huddled together.
After stripping a chunk of its skin, Fares cut off larger pieces o meat and dragged the spoils of battle towards the dome tent. He placed it inside, then covered the dome with the stone-like skin of the Saltasaurus, making a double layer of protection. Fares did not know how long they are going to stay here, so he had to make plans.
After he was done, Fares sat on the ground beside his injured friends in a lotus position and took out one of the three alpha Raptor orbs he had. Looking at the violet orb with the tinge of indigo, Fares did not ponder too much and immediately threw it into his mouth, it melted immediately before he swallowed the liquid.
As it entered his stomach, Fares felt hot energy washing over him, however, this time it was not the scorching hot type. Instead, it was a milder form that felt as if he was standing in the middle of the desert. Being from a middle eastern country, the desert's temperature was a child's play to him.
Most of the energy had been used to replenish his energy, however, the minority of the energy strands went to his chest node. The energy condensed in the chest node, filling it with a glistening liquid that slid over the inner side of the node, ending in a puddle of energy at the base of it.
And just like that, two hours had already passed, and although he did not manage to get a breakthrough, Fares still increased his maximum energy source.
Looking around, both Zena and Smooka still had not woken up, Fares sighed and grabbed another alpha Raptor orb. He had no physical form, so he did not need to eat as long as he was cultivating.
He started cultivating yet again, his energy kept rising more and more, he felt addicted to the feeling of power coursing through his body. If he was just stronger, no one would have gotten hurt. If he was just stronger, he would not need to plan anything. The strong always prey on the weak with sheer force, that was why Tigers are at the top of the food chain.
The day went by just like that, only when Fares had finally been done with the last orb did the last lights of the day dim down. Fares became more vigilant, according to Azkar, the nights in this era were much more horrifying than days. He had no idea what happens, even he could not see it, but every time a hunting team stays in the open at night most of them just vanish into thin air before anyone even noticed.
He used his energy like a sonar, sending some of it outside the dome and collecting it back again, Fares could use this method to search the surroundings and make out what was what.
Fares repeated this every few minutes, he did not know what comes out at night, or when does it come, so all he could do was conserve his strength for the rest of the night.
At some point during the night, Fares felt an odd signal. It was not that he felt something, but more like he did not. Whenever his energy touches it, the energy slid right past it.
This made Fares even more alert, if it had that much control over its energy it had to be something strong. Fares used his energy to open a small opening in the dome tent, if he could not use his energy, might as well use his eyes.
Looking towards the direction where his energy did not reach, Fares saw a black figure. But before he could indulge his curiosity, the figure's eyes turned to gaze at him, with its red shining eyes.
Fares felt his soul tremble at the bloodlust emitted off the figure. Before he could even move, the figure was right in front of the tent.
The figure extended his hands, penetrating the dome tent, and grabbed at Fares' neck. Fares was stunned both because of the figure's speed and power as well as it being human hands that were holding Fares' neck.
With a quick yank, the figure pulled Fares out of the tent and threw him on the ground to the side.
Thud~
Fares hit the ground with a loud thud that knocked the air out of his lungs. 'Too powerful!' He thought.
But before he could get up again, the figure arrived just above him and placed a heavy foot over the top of his chest close to his neck, as a warning for him not to move.
Fares gave up on trying to resist it, whoever it is that was standing in front of him if it wanted to kill him, he would have already died a thousand times.
"Who are you?" The voice said with a strong, dominant voice.
"I come in peace. I am a human same as you." Fares said trying to get the figure to calm down.
The figure's red shining eyes stared at Fares, at the same time its legs pressed deeper over his chest, before saying, "I have already given up being a human a long time ago. Now tell me, what is a weak human like you doing here?"
"Wait. I have a reason for that. We were fighting a string beast, but my companions got hurt, so I had to stay here with them." Fares said hurriedly before the figure's patience run thin.
"He is telling the truth." At that time another figure emerged from the tent and said.
Fares was alarmed upon seeing the figure, he felt no presence coming from it. It was as if it had just appeared out of nowhere.
"What did you find?" The first figure said.
"Two figures, a girl and a tree dweller." Answered the second figure with a softer voice.
