An Offer They Can't Refuse

~ Thank you for Przemo and kevinarlt for continuously supporting this book through powerstones! I really appreciate it! ~

Contrary to Renaldo's expectations, the battle for the capital was exceptionally easy due to Aguinaldo's foolishness, his defiance of the masterplan of the army led to an easy battle wherein the Spaniards are already exhausted when Renaldo and his men got there, so Renaldo's schedule is suddenly freed up a bit but it isn't really great seeing a mountain of paperworks in front of him due to various proposals and other concerns regarding the revolution. This problem of his rooted from his lack of preparations and organization, it also does not help that he focused more on the military side of things that he neglected the civil and administrative affairs of an organization, he lacks a lot of people to fix civil and administrative affairs, so right now, Renaldo is pushed with a lot of paperworks.

"This can't always be the case though, I need people to manage the organization and at the same time I also need them to manage the country in the long run, I truly miscalculated this time, I was a military guy in my past life and that timeline is mired by wars, I wasn't that educated in the field of administration which resulted in this shortsightedness of mine, I need to fix this, I could use the Propaganda members in Spain but I don't know if they'll support my cause or they'll rat me out to the Monarchy, illustrados like them are hard to read to be honest, especially our national hero, Jose Rizal. I think that man is a bit passive-aggressive on his approach towards the Spaniards but if I can convince him including his peers, I might be able to get them to work for me" Renaldo said to himself, those people are probably his only choice for now so he immediately wrote several letters to these people, inconspicuous letters that will pass the prying eyes of the Spanish and other nations as to prevent some hiccups along the way.

Aside from writing these letters though, Renaldo thought of his future plans of conquest and possibly, the establishment of his monarchy, both of which will boost the morale of his people and at the same time give legitimacy to their cause. But to do the latter he needs to get the approval of other nations for his right for sovereignty of which he can't afford right now given the instability of his country and the revolutionary army, a repeat of the Magdalo faction's insubordination might take a big toll on the army's own discipline and unity and will definitely discredit his ability to lead.

Renaldo himself knows that he's just a military guy and he needs a lot of learning to do when it comes to leading a whole country by himself, so he chose to do the former right now which is to liberate the country for now and worry about the administrative part later.

Renaldo then called Leandro and ordered him to use his network to send these letters to a collection of people over to Spain and other parts of the world, and also to send one letter to a certain fiery person right here in the Philippines.

In various parts of the world, several letters circulated among the filipino propagandist circle, and the contents of the letter intrigued and shocked some especially Rizal and Juan Luna, given the contents of it might change the way most of them work in the future. It also earned the ire of some members as it is a letter of both announcement and threat. The content of the letter is as follows:

"Dear my fellowmen,

It is my honor as the leader of The Revolutionary Order to greet each and everyone of you who raise propaganda for the betterment of the situation of our country, I appreciate everything that all of you have done in the past and in the current time, especially about your plea for equal treatment between us Filipinos and the Spanish people, given that certain scenarios may not have happened, that would be the next big thing aside from just revolting against the regime. This may come as a shock to each and everyone of you my brothers, but I, as the leader of the revolution is proud to announce to my fellow Filipinos in Spain that we have liberated the whole island of Luzon against the grasp of the Spanish Monarchy and are currently on the way to developing further liberation towards the islands of Visayas, Mindanao and if God bids it to his will, Guam.

I, Renaldo Laran Melchor, a direct descendant of Rajah Sulayman and the future first sovereign of the Imperium of the Philippines would like to invite or perhaps call upon all of you to come back to the country and pledge your loyalty to our motherland, I promise to give each and everyone of you a position in my retinue that is befitting of your accomplishments and achievements regarding the academic and scientific field. Your contributions towards the country made in the past will also affect your position in regards to how high it is. I hope that all of you complies for the wages of non-compliance is death towards you and all of those related to you by blood from your most direct kin to your dogs and chickens. On the other hand, should you comply and go back to the country, you will receive the highest honor possible and will be welcomed with open arms from your countrymen. I expect each and everyone of you to be here by the 1st day of the 12th month of the year, those that fail to come on time will suffer the aforementioned consequences.

Sincerely,

The Sovereign."
