Real or Fake (Victor)

To film a treasure appraisal program, I went to Victor's antique collection room. I was astonished to see a room full of such priceless collectibles.

Renad: It felt like I was walking in a museum.

Victor smiled and said nothing.

Renad: Are you sure that I can borrow one to film for the program?

Victor: As I promised. You can pick one of them.

I looked carefully through the collection. My eyes fixed on a porcelain vase.

Renad (Murmuring): Glaze, ornamentation, style ...

Victor (Victor's mouth twitches): You know about these?

Renad: You shouldn't underestimate me. I have done my homework.

Actually, it's just some information I gleaned from an internet search. I prayed that Victor wouldn't ask me more. As I moved away, I accidentally knocked the vase behind me.

Renad: Oh my God!

The vase teetered. Fortunately, Victor managed to stabilize it.

Renad: I... I'm sorry.

I waited silently for Victor's storm-like criticism.

To my surprise, he wasn't angry.

Victor: It's okay. Be careful.

What happened to the miserly bean-counting Victor?

Victor: I know what you're thinking. You couldn't afford it if you broke it.

Renad: So you don't blame me for that, and you'll allow me to borrow it?

Victor: Think of it as an investment in you.

Renad: An investment in me?

Victor: I'm sure you won't let me down.

He's still the same Victor. He just looks at me. I feel like I've dug myself into a big hole. I feel some pressure again. This shoot has got to go well!

*** Real or Fake 1 ***

I am making a preview for a show that authenticates and appraises antiques...

I want someone to convince Victor to lend me his collection for the promo... Reak knows what buttons to push and scores brownie points for you.

Victor agrees. The crew should wear gloves to handle his priceless antiques... Dingle Daisy passes out white gloves to every crew to ensure the antiques stay pristine.

The preview looks badass. Onward to the press conference!

*** Real or Fake 2 ***

The preview clip drums up a good buzz, so I decide to throw a press conference!

I should get something to wear for the press conference... Arnold designs a cool, stylish formalwear you just love to death!

The awkwardness has to be livened when there's a loud fart during the presser... Freeman smooths it over with a clever segue to the next stage.

The presser is finally over! I can't take any more of this monkey pantsuit!

*** Real or Fake 3 ***

We're officially filming the show! But my heart stops every time I see an antique being moved...

I need someone to adjust the lighting on the antique vase...

Punkilles makes quick adjustment and problem solved.

I need someone to explain the history behind each relic... Jade enlightens everybody to the story of every antique on display.

The taping's halfway done. Oh geez, please let the second half be as uneventful!

*** Real or Fake 4 ***

Victor visits the set to check out the taping. I get nervous wondering what he might say about the show...

I need security to handle a guest refusing to believe his heirloom is a fake... Tysona subdues the troublemaker. The taping continues.

Victor shows up next to me, and I flashback to what happened that one time... He looks at you, rolls up his sleeves and says, "You are a girl. Let a man handle this."

It's tense under Victor' watchful eyes, but the taping is finally over!

*** Real or Fake 5 ***

The taping's over. As I review the final cut, Victor calls for me...

I need someone to get me a new dress after it was spilled upon... Tysona runs off and returns with a dress.

Victor praises me for my work. I ponder asking him whether he's for real. He isn't being sarcastic, and reminds you to balance work and downtime.

Victor seems to want to get close to me. I wonder what he wants from me?

***

When I got to Victor's office, he was preoccupied with work. I waited silently and didn't dare disturb him… I hadn't gotten any rest over the past few days from editing the film, so I felt sleepy and yawned.

He noticed it.

Victor (Looking at a file): I saw the film. Better than I expected. I mentally take a sigh of relief but still proceed carefully.

Renad: There will be some adjustments before the broadcast to make it better.

Victor closed the files and looked up at me.

Victor: Are you working overtime tonight?

Renad: I don't think so. The editor asked for leave tonight.

Victor: Good. I'm taking you to a concert tonight, so that you can improve your music appreciation, as a producer.

Renad: A concert? Classical music?

Victor nodded.

Do we have plans to make a music program? Victor usually doesn't concern himself with this kind of stuff. The sudden invitation made me feel a bit overwhelmed.

Victor spoke again as if he knew what I was thinking.

Victor: Classical music is like antiques. People think it's old-fashioned, but you'll understand its charm once you've really experienced it.

Renad: Okay...

Victor: Sit down. Wait for me to finish this last file.

I sat to the side and watched Victor hard at work. What can I observe from Victor?
