Chapter 15: Change of scenery

I came through when the first rays of sunlight cleared the cover of darkness in a beautiful pink shade of red and blue.

But I had a lot to think of to admire the beauty of my surroundings. For I literally trashed the lake.

The place where a lake was supposed to be is now a big crater... The snow has completely melted and the frozen white oak trees are now ashes scattered in the wind.

Not even the missing girls corpses were left; all was swallowed by the power of the Abyss...

I ran hands in my hair frustrated.

This is bad. A very bad situation! If someone sees me here I am doomed! I need to go back before anyone finds out about this.

I grabbed the crimson crystal that was left from the Vampire and quickly ran toward the Castle as fast as I could.

I used what energy left I had to compell the guards; tricking them with a little mind trick.

However, as soon as I climbed back into my room through the window...Trudy was already there... waiting for me.

She quickly closed the window and curtains then gave me a look then she spoke dropping decorum She was breathing heavily

Trudy paced back and forth panick showing all over her face. It was Quite the sight actually...

But she was right...I lost control of myself and I could have been spotted. This could have ruined the entire plan and put me and this world's future in a very tight spot.

I said speaking from the bottom of my heart I took a breath and explained how the incidents are connected to my foolish actions melting the lake.

I explained how I killed that Vampire and how ended up losing my control and using the power of the Abyss.

Trudy let out a sigh and gave me a pretty damn harsh talk; in the end she let me rest for the day or at least that was the plan until I received that invitation.

Trudy came in late in the evening just after lunch bringing with her a golden envelop With the emperial palace crest on it.

I say< Princess Priscilla is throwing a party and they want me to join in.> I ran a hand to the back of my head

Trudy clarifies < I shall inform the Duke about the invitation>

I nod I said she bent and left closing the door behind her.

This is a chance to make a name for myself in the elite social circle. The invitation is saying it's a party inside her garden glass house in the imperial palace.

I need to prepare a dress and jewelry; I hope I won't have trouble convincing the Duke to spend a little of his fortune.

~The next day~

I let out a long sigh the moment I sit inside my carriage, Trudy gives me one of her bored stares which makes it even worse.

To send an invitation so tight in time, do you know what I've been through to get my outfit prepared??!

I barely slept a wink in two days! TWO!

Another long sigh and another bored stare out the window.

I averted my gaze toward the opposite window and ignored her presence, silently watching the frozen land scapes of Evanson fold in their wintery atmosphere.

Magic sure is a crazy thing, I am sitting in a wooden carriage wearing a silk dress suitable for a summer party yet I am not feeling any cold.

No matter how much I try to ignore it, the more I watch the wonders of magic the more I am concious of the heavy burden that's been set on my shoulders.

What would I give to have my life back...

Look at me, forced to seduce a prince that I don't even like so that people may respect me.

Forced to abide by the absurd rules of this world.

Having my life controlled by a strange oracle with bad tea brewing skills.

Trudy's stern voice brought me back to reality.

I closed my eyes and suppressed those thoughts away. It's always like this...the more I think about it the worst it gets.

Of all things my abilities should be related to negative emotions, HILLARIOUS!

I say

Trudy nods and then a flash of light drags my attention outside the carriage.

Gone the snow planes of Evanson, it was a complete different scenery, a different season.

Green plains filled with the most beautiful of wild flowers blooming.

The sun bright in the sky with just enough clouds to me the White Palace on the top of the hill look magestic with it's surrounding city buildings.

I played the game...The texture and illustrations were good, the graphics were also remarkable.

But this is on a complete other level I say my eyes practically pooping out

Trudy explains with her usual calm demanour

And then it came to me; I remember there was a setting like that in the game.

The land where the first saint appeared and her Hero. The same land where they founded their home, their Empire.

The loved land of the Sun goddess Solaria...

Regulus.

Immersed in my thoughts, I was startled by the sudden rush of tingling running down my spine.

I crouched on my seat as I felt a familiar sensation.

Something deep with me was pulsing, radiating and resonating with this place.

Images, flashes like visions of a tiny butterfly like crystal with it's beautiful hue batting it's wings came to me.

Trudy jumped off her seat and approached me

And then it was darkness.
