chapter 16: history & jealousy

JULIET'S POINT OF VIEW

After dinner, I immediately went to my room. I understand my mother, but she is most likely picky slash moody with situations like this. I really wanted to talk to Lauren all about it, but Aunt Tia said that the only persons who must know about this.

Then, I Immediately thought that I would talk to Aunt Tia instead. Since we haven't had a non-serious conversation ever since, I started talking to her after how many years. I grabbed my mirror from my drawer then recited the magic spell.

"Oh hi, Juliet!" Aunt Tia said as she rubbed her eyes.

"Oh no, were you just asleep?" I worriedly asked.

"Apparently yes, but it's okay and I kinda felt that it was an emergency or something, so what happened?" She asked then I sighed.

"Everytime Romeo and I hang out, a headache happens to him. The weird part is there was one time that he didn't felt a headache, he even told me that maybe something happens whenever I accidentally touch his wrist." I said.

"Did the wrist you accidentally touched is the one where he puts on his bracelet?" She asked.

"Yes." I replied.

"Can I tell you a secret, Juliet?" She asked then I slowly nodded.

"Years ago, I met Romeo on the island I live. I guess he was shored in the sea, when I tried to read his mind I couldn't see anything when he was asleep, but then when he was awake I asked him if I could read his mind again then I do so and I cannot still see anything." She said.

"Do you think he has an amnesia?" I asked as I frowned.

"I did, but I didn't tell him because he was a kid back then, and most especially I can see the pain and stress he had gone through right before he arrived at my island." She said.

"What happened afterwards?" I asked.

"I asked him if I could get him adopted by another family because I, as the guardian slash sorceress must have a private life." She said.

"But of course, I didn't want him to expose me that I am a sorceress slash guardian, so I recited a magic spell for him to forget everything I told him."

"So basically he is adopted and he knows that?" I asked.

"I don't know, but what I am sure is I made him think that he is with his real parents by using the bracelet he has." She said.

"Aunt Tia, that's cruel!" I said.

"I know, I know, but he seems very sad and I didn't want him to live the rest of his life being like that." She said.

"Well, guess what you made him live the rest of his life, lying about his real parents." I said as I sighed.

"But how is this related to what I just told you?" I asked as I frowned.

"Have you and Romeo met when you were kids?" She asked then I started to panicked.

"H-How did you know such stuff, Aunt Tia?" I nervously asked.

"Am I sensing that Juliet has a crush on this Romeo guy?" Aunt Tia said as she smirked.

"Okay, I might. Wait no, yes I am, ever since we met at the library." I said as I started to blush then she scoffed.

"I bet you are something in his history right before he had the amnesia, Juliet." She said then I frowned.

"Please, Romeo and I literally just met once that time, the next time I saw him is a week ago when Travis introduced him to me." I said.

"You will never know, Juliet. Why not take your chance before it's too late?" She asked.

"I would love to, but Travis.." I said as I sighed.

"What about him?" She asked as she frowned.

"He confessed to me his feelings towards me last week, the two of them are basically friends. Which if I will tell Romeo about how I feel, he will tell Travis, and then Travis will feel sad and won't talk to me anymore." I worriedly said.

"Calm down, Juliet. Don't think of that with that way, you are lucky that my crystal ball chose you two just so that you can spend time with him." She said.

"Besides, if I gotta be honest, I do like Romeo more than Travis. The moment when we first met through the mirror, I felt a distinct feeling about him. He even might be hiding something from you, Juliet." She continued.

"You and Mother are super opposite, she prefers Travis more than Romeo, just because I caused his headache." I said as I sighed and I rolled my eyes.

"Julia is just protecting you, my dear. But whoever you choose, I will support you no matter what." She said.

"Thanks Aunt Tia, Travis is a very kind guy just like Romeo, I just don't know who to choose." I sighed.

"Don't worry, take some time to think of your feelings. They can both wait, destiny as well." She said then I chuckled.

"We haven't had this kind of conversation in a long time, Aunt Tia." I chuckled.

"I know right, just remember if you need someone I am always here." She said then she winked.

"Yes Aunt Tia." I said as I smiled.

"You should get to sleep, Juliet. You have school in the next day." She said.

"Right, thank you once again, Aunt Tia! I miss you!" I said as I smiled.

"Anytime, Juliet. I miss you too!" She said then we waved at each other and she ended the call.

Next day, I went to school and thought of what Romeo said yesterday. I immediately started to find him, so that we could talk for awhile then I found him together with Travis so I walked towards them.

"Good morning, boys!" I greeted as they faced at me.

"Good morning Juliet!" They said.

"Can I talk to you for a second?" I asked.

"To whom specifically?" Travis asked then I looked at him.

"Uhh R-Romeo." I replied then Travis nodded in confusion.

"Oh, you wanted to talk to Romeo." Travis mumbled as he faked a smile.

"What did you just said?" I asked.

"Nothing, I'll leave you two alone." Travis said then he left.

"What did you want to talk about, Juliet?" Romeo asked.

"Look Romeo, I know you have things to prioritize but can you please be my partner for now? I know I shouldn't be forcing you, but this is for the good for Aunt Tia and us as well." I said.

"Juliet, I.." Romeo sighed.

"That bracelet? Is not some ordinary bracelet, Romeo. I know for sure that it is made as a Magicia." I said.

I had no choice but to force Romeo, aside of he will help me and Aunt Tia but also that we could spend some time together.

"I'm surprised that a girl like you is very convincing, so my answer is yes." He chuckled then I jumped in excitement.

"Oh my gosh! Thank you Romeo!" I said in excitement then I hugged him.

"Y-Your welcome, Juliet." He said as he slowly hugged me back then we released.

"By the way, I should go to class right now. See you later Romeo!" I said then he smiled and waved at me as I left.

TRAVIS' POINT OF VIEW

"You saw that too?" I asked Lauren as she walked towards me.

"I did." Lauren replied.

"Why do you seem so chill about it? It's your ex boyfriend with your bestfriend, Lauren." I said as I turned at her.

"They were just hugging, it's no big deal. Besides, I am slowly moving on from Romeo, I wouldn't mind on who is he with now." She said.

"Well guess what, this is a big deal for me. I need to talk to Romeo-" I said as I slowly walked to Romeo then Lauren grabbed me.

"Stop it Travy, whatever you want to do, just stop." She said as she pulled me backwards.

"I know when someone is hiding something, Lauren." I said as I looked at her.

"What do you mean?" She asked as she frowned.

"I will figure out soon, Lauren." I said as I glared at her then I left.
