Warring World

After they had all settled back into cultivation Orion began to teach Lucius about running a clan. The basics that he taught could be summarised in a few points :

1) Since anyone could be cultivated up to the 4th tier with enough resources and time, of which Lucius and the Basils have plenty of, he shouldn't focus on talent but rather on character. He should choose those who worked hard, who strived to improve themselves and those that had honour and dignity.

2) Pick smart people. It seemed like something obvious but Lucius wouldn't be able to handle all of the matters by himself so he should pick people who could keep track of things for him. In other words, cultivation talent didn't matter but talent in other areas did.

3) Train alchemists, formation masters and blacksmiths. This was a vital point as Orion knew Lucius' personality and he knew that he would rather do it himself. Lucius had been alone for 10 years of his life so he was accustomed to doing everything by himself and making sure everything was up to his standards. However, if he was going to build a clan, he wouldn't have the time to be constantly refining pills or artifacts. Delilah was a formations master greater than Lucius so he didn't have to lay the formations but he still would check over her work meticulously even though she was technically better than him at it.

4) Create a clear hierarchy. This meant that those under him could be treated as friends but they should know that in the end they were still subordinates and had to listen to orders. Be soft but stern basically.

5) Resources. Hoard them. No matter how much you think you might need it, there always comes a time where resources can be useful.

These points were the basis for Orion's own governing system. Although of course, it was a lot more complicated since Orion ruled of trillions and trillions of people, he still followed these basic principles. Another thing Orion said was that the name of the clan didn't really matter since in the end it would all return back to the Basils as he would be king so the clan would automatically become the Basil clan. That being said, the divisions and different squads he made should have proper names since that would stay even after merging back into the Basil family.

To begin the process the trio all went to the clan building room. This was even further down the endless corridor, and opposite the door labelled the Clan Building room was a door labelled Elemental Comprehension room. The room required for them to be tier 3 to open so they were far off from that for now. The trio entered the room with Delilah at the forefront since she had met the requirements but Lucius hadn't. When they entered they immediately were surprised by the fact that there was a sky and a sun. The roof of the room was an illusion formation that gave the perception that they weren't in a room but actually outdoors. There was nothing in the room but a lot of grass. The space was around 100 square kilometres, which is around the size of Paris. In the future they would be able to expand the space even further.

The trio didn't have much to do really since they had no subordinates and they didn't want to start building houses and stuff yet. Johnny had not yet studied enough architecture and he wasn't planning to half ass this. Instead they just moved the crates that had all the building resources and ores that they had in storage into the area. Leaving them stacked neatly a few metres in from the entrance. Lucius went back and made more crates for future use since these crates were coming in handy and being used up way too quickly. The space crates were the sealed kind which meant that anything put into them would stay in the state that it was in when it was put in to it. So if I put in a cup of hot coffee, then 2 months later if I took out the coffee it would still be hot. This was perfect for preservation but it meant that nothing living could survive in there. The other type of space artifact was called unsealed and these ones could house living beings but came with the deficit that things would spoil in there. Lucius still made a few of these though as he may need to kidnap someone in the future and it would easier with this type of space artifact.

After this there wasn't much to do but train. Johnny trained in basic blacksmithing and in formations with architecture. Lucius trained his cultivation since it was lagging behind his body which had already reached tier 2. Delilah was the same but she was also perfecting a special skill of hers that she was creating.

After 3 months, Lucius had reached the 2nd layer of Spirit Condenser realm in all of his Elements. Delilah had reached the 5th layer of Elemental Ascension and reached the late stage in tier 2 formations. Johnny had reached the 7th layer of Spirit Refiner realm in his cultivation and reached the first tier in body refining. Johnny's body refining was unique because of his divine rank constitution, the Towering Wood Body! The Towering Wood Body was in itself suited towards body refinement as opposed to energy or mind cultivation, this could be seen through Johnny reaching the mid-high level of the hide stage of body refinement within only 3 months. Johnny's constitution trained by absorbing wood elements from the surroundings or plants and trees and cultivated his body to be as strong as a tree. When cultivated to its peak, the Towering Wood body would make someone invulnerable to regular attacks from the same realm, even up to tier 9. It also had a healing rate that could rival the Phoenixes! The wood element focused on healing and vitality so Johnny would grow strong and tall, full to the brim with life and energy. As an extra to his regular training, he took over as the farmer for the herbs as if he circulated his World Tree Guardian Scriptures amongst spiritual herbs he would cultivate faster and in turn, increase the rate of growth for the plants ; in these 3 months the plants farmed had been increased by three times as much as Lucius had normally farmed! What would be ideal for someone of Johnny's constitution and cultivation technique is to cultivate next to a true World Tree but they weren't gonna find one of those for a long time. The weakest of all the World Trees could only be seen in a tier 5 world at least.

Lucius continued his forging, creating a few tier 2 spears for Delilah and enhancing his Devils Calling to the second tier too. Johnny's preferred weapon was the staff so he mainly trained with Delilah. Their mutual use of pole arms helped them improve faster as training against someone as strong as Orion all the time wasn't necessarily a good thing. Having someone that was the same skill level as you could help you increase your skill if you sparred in parallel to sparring with a powerful mentor.

After the 3 months they had all felt a little cooped up since they were inside the Garden all this time so they decided to go to the next world. The world this time was a special world so Orion warned them before hand and decided to explain why he was sending them there instead of them arriving and being completely clueless as to what was going on.

"Listen up, the next world you're going to is called Hazmit and its a tier 2 low class world. However, it is one of its kind. Even among the millions of worlds that I know of, none are like Hazmit. Firstly, Hazmit is what we call a Warring World. A Warring World is any world that has been fighting a world wide war for the past millennium! Be prepared for it. Secondly, Hazmit is a world where instead of cultivating themselves, the people cultivated technology instead! I want you to learn everything you can from the way they do things, from their architecture, to their formations and blacksmithing too. Only come back once you've learnt everything you can!"
