Slaughter in Space

The generals looked on anxiously at the collision on the screen. The moon destroyer missile was their greatest offense and greatest defence at the same time. The missile was a deterrent against the Batak, and was also their only chance at destroying the Batak moon base. They had spent 500 years developing it and had used up 70% of the resources on the moon base to construct it! The moon destroyer was the ultimate weapon created by the Yamir. It was no longer just a weapon to them but a symbol of security and hope. It was the only thing that let them sleep soundly at night, knowing the Batak wouldn't attack them in their sleep. This missile was their everything!

The explosion caused a deep rumble that shook the entire ship along with a wave of wind that shook the tallest buildings on the moon base. There was no air in space so there was no medium for sound to travel through but everyone could tell that the explosion would be the loudest thing they had ever head before. On the contrary though, the explosion happened in silence, so apart from the rumble caused from the waves, if one had been looking away they wouldn't have been able to tell that an explosion of such scale was even happening. This eerie silence as they watched the explosion happen shook everyone who spectated it to the core. Whether it was the generals, the soldiers, the researchers on the ship and even those still on Hazmit's ground. Jessica and Michael looked up at the sky and prayed silently in their hearts for their twins.

The flames that erupted from the explosion traced round the shield but quickly expired out as there was no oxygen to sustain them. The initial blast had ripped a hole the size of a large house in the front of the shield but the flames could only lick the front of the ship before disappearing. The flames were too weak to do anything after having to breakthrough the shield. The rest of the flames were only able to crack the shield without breaking through. The shield had web like cracks all the way down to its mid section but in the end it was fine.

Those researchers released the breathes they had been holding while letting out deep sighs. They all looked at each other and smiled with thankful expressions before looking to Lucius and bowing down as a collective. Lucius looked at them bowing and chuckled as he commented on the missile being "quite powerful indeed". The rest of the soldiers and Delilah and Julia only felt the rumble as they were slightly stirred up but other than that they were completely fine and completely oblivious. Delilah asked what happened and Maria responded that it was nothing.

On the other hand, the generals were in shock as they saw the undamaged ship emerge from the blanket of flames around it. Some of them fell to their knees as they stared at the ship in indignation and petrified by the thought of their greatest weapon being useless. Others were unable to accept it and began directing troops to shoot out the laser cannons and the carrier busters at the ship. Axolot just sat down in a seat to the side and rubbed his forehead. He could see now that the ship was far more powerful, well at least far more sturdier, than the one that he had come to the moon in. He had already given up on the idea of bringing down the ship and had already resigned himself to a fate of death. He decided to wait there until they came and then tell them anything they wanted to know. His spirit had been crushed completely since he was the only one there that knew of the power and grandeur of such a ship since he was the only one to have ever ridden on one before. All of the current occupants of the base except him were descendants of those who had arrived on that ship with him. He looked up at the ship and chuckled to himself as he saw the front of the behemoth light up with a glaring glow.

Zzzzzzzuuuuuuuup, Badooooooooooom!

A massive white beam burst out of the front of the behemoth, it crashed straight into the moon base's front wall and broke through it instantly. A long trench was left in its wake as a line was carved into the moons surface.

"Ahhhhhhh..... save me.... please..."

"Noooooo..... I don't deserve to die like this...kuh!"

"Medic? MEDIC!?"

"God fucking damn it, what kind of cannon is that? MEDICS GET OUT THERE AND BRING THE WOUNDED TO THE MED BAY, EVERYONE ELSE GET TO THE FRONTLINE AND MAN THE GUNS" The only remaining General shouted.

Right after the mega cannon was fired, the hatch under the ship was opened as 50 different ziplines were released at the same time and shot towards the surface of the moon. As soon as the drill at the end of the zipline was rooted into the ground, countless men came streaming down the lines like a waterfall of men. They were all decked out in space suits but they also all had machine guns in their arms. On their backs were laser mirrors that would reflect any shots that reached them. They fired of their guns behind them as they tried to attack while falling but as soon as they reached the ground they pulled out the mirrors and made a defensive line.

While the men were deploying, the Generals were trying to bring out heavy artillery to destroy the defensive line but Lucius was able to see this and direct the side cannons of the ship to destroy those machines before it could attack the men on the ground. The soldiers who were manning the stationed machine guns were unable to penetrate any of the laser mirrors and with the addition of the remaining men, the defensive line began to push forward. Once the push began, Delilah and Julia dropped down. They got into their positions as an arrow type formation was made with shield men while the men in the back pulled out snipers to end some soldiers off while they couldn't be attacked. Delilah had the body forging strength of a third tier so even with the decreased gravity on the moon she began to lob grenades and bomb into the enemies food stores and the other places that Lucius had highlighted with circles. At this time, the defensive wall of the base had already been destroyed by the first mega cannon blast but now their vital points where being attacked so some soldiers went to set up shield formations around the circled buildings to stop Delilah's bombings. The Generals were shouting out orders and trying to solve the problems that were arising rapidly so it was at this time that Lucius dropped in.

Lucius dropped down from the hatch on a special vehicle that he had created for himself specifically. It was a hover motorbike that could change modes depending on the terrain. While Delilah was making her part of the formations on the ship, he was working on this personalised bike and had made it with the speed of a jet in mind. He used high tier ores and formations to make it as fast as a tier 3 warrior. As soon as he dropped down he sped off towards the moon base as he activated the masking ability of the bike, blending in to the pitch black of space. All of the mayhem and battle happening around him also helped in masking his presence. He was able to get inside and past the defensive line within 5 minutes as he scanned the area. He was able to quickly find the only remaining General who was the most vocal and authoritative person at the front lines.

Lucius circled around in the sky and arrived behind the General as he shot off three shots with a pistol that simultaneously hit the General. The light rays pierced through his brain, throat and heart. The General collapsed to the ground with a shocked expression in his eyes as his throat gargled with blood as he collapsed to the ground with a thud. Those around him turned and stared in shock before swerving and turning frantically to find who had killed the general but couldn't find Lucius at all.

"THE GENERAL HAS BEEN ASSASSINATED!" someone shouted as those further away turned to look.

There were 3 Generals that were second in the command chain and right under Axolot in terms of seniority. One of them had been blasted through by the mega cannon and the third General couldn't be found so this was their last General. As soon as he died the news was spread through the front line as the soldiers began to panic and go wild. Some of them ran back into the city and towards those places of importance that Lucius had marked with crosses before. Some of the Brigadier Generals and Lieutenant Generals tried to calm them down and regain order but they were targeted next and Lucius slayed his way through the defensive line. Once Lucius was done and it had been confirmed that all of their Generals were dead, an all out riot ensued against those cross marked locations. Those places where the residences of the Generals and thus were the places with the most riches and consequently the most highly guarded security. Some were planning to have a last meal from the Generals' luxurious storage or to steal as much as they could and offer it up in exchange for their lives. Others simply wanted to find the missing General and offer up her head to save their own heads.

Under the chaotic riot, Delilah and Julia's job had become far too easy as they hadn't expected for the Yamir soldiers to simply abandon the defensive line and begin a riot. Delilah ordered her soldiers to stop attacking and instead charged forward and into the moon base. The moon base was an artificial dome of sorts that had breathable air and even farms and ponds of water. Once they were inside the dome, they could take off the heavy and cumbersome space suits and bring out their full potential. They could also take over the remaining machine guns and take control of the situation. The scene was almost comical as 20,000 men ran in a straight line on the moon, bouncing up and down as they ran. Julia ordered her squads to follow but to keep their guns up to cover for Delilah's group.

Meanwhile, on the ship the remaining 10,000 men were sent out by Maria with ropes tied to the waists to collect all the shrapnel and broken pieces of the missile. The missile was clearly made of high quality materials and Maria wasn't gonna lose this chance. She could bring it back and study with her dad and could make another one and by proxy find out how to defend against or disarm one. It was highly likely that the Batak would also have a similar missile so it would be better for the next moon base raid to be equipped with this knowledge.

The moon base had around 600,000 men but this number had already been halved within only 15 minutes of the attack. The mega cannon at the start had slain around 150,000 men in one go because of the collapse of the wall and the heat damage from the blast that boiled the remnant soldiers in their armours. After that, around 50,000 men died from the big artillery machines being destroyed by the side cannons of the ship. The resulting explosions and shrapnel blasts were death traps that would slay everyone within certain radii. The remaining 100,000 men were killed by the assault squad and also the riots that ensued after that. The next batch of people to die were those that attacked the residence of the deserting Generals and Lieutenant Generals. The Generals ordered their personal servants to mow down anyone who came near their villas and consequently another 100,000 men were gunned down in the frenzy.

Blood splattered, bodies burned and people exploded constantly as mayhem spread wildly. The soldiers on the moon base were actually trained quite poorly as they had lived on the moon their entire lives and it was thought that there would be no point to training them if they would never see battle in their lives anyway. Thus the soldiers were weak bodied, weak minded and weak spirited. They could barely run fast enough or react on time, they didn't formulate any plans or think about what they were doing, and their comradery collapsed at the first signs of adversity. They would better be described as elves that could only follow orders, so as soon as their commanding officers were killed, they fell into carnage and immediately abandoned their stations. In the first place they were all descendants of wealthy and important people that had bought their seats on the initial ship to the moon. They were used to debauchery and laziness. They were only trained into soldiers because of Axolot.

Lucius was floating on his bike above the deserting Generals house, watching as the machine guns annihilated their own soldiers. Such amounts of desertion and friendly fire weren't in the plan so he thought it would be better to just let them kill each other instead of assassinating the General as it would probably put an end to this queer situation. Some of the smarter foot soldiers brought out some heavy artillery and were going to use it to break through the Generals defensive equipment so Lucius swooped in and assassinated them before dropping some grenades and destroying the equipment. At the same time, Delilah and Julia had made it into the dome along with all their troops since there was no defence against them.

The moon base was split into two sides, the villas of the high ranked and the boarding of the low rank foot soldiers. The food storage and such were all in the left side along with the low ranks property so Delilah and the Liberation Army were able to take over the left side of the circular base and cut of the foot soldiers' retreat. They formed a line of laser mirrors and then watched the mayhem along with Lucius. Those soldiers that decided to turn around and escape where shot down mercilessly. The soldiers were boxed in and couldn't escape through the sides since they didn't have space suits and thus wouldn't be able to survive out there. Never the less, there were some soldiers that ran out foolishly but they soon froze to death once they left the safety of the dome.

Lucius sent Delilah a voice transmission through a headset and then left on his bike towards the building that was further in than the Generals villa. He was heading towards the command centre that was only behind Axolot's own villa which was right at the end of the base. Since the soldiers were being slaughtered and the General was holed up in her villa he thought to gather some information instead of watching idly. Delilah could do his job too and in the mean time he could speed up the process that would follow their victory.

He parked his bike and stored it back into his space ring before walking up to the door and kicking it open with a light push. He walked in and looked around the room, realising it was a command room so he went further in to get to the main control panel but as he took a few steps in he heard a laugh from his side. Lucius looked over to his right and saw a white haired old man sitting in a seat in the corner of the room by himself.
