Missing Person

While Gregal was trying to figure out who or what was the thing behind the happenings of the robbery street, the culprit, Shawn was testing his powers right now, everything in front of Shawn seems to be frozen in time.

He was using his overpowered perspective of time to slow down everything in front of him, it was not that time itself was slowing down, everything that Shawn was processing while seeing through his eyes was at speed faster than light.

He could see even the littlest change happening in the surrounding. While testing his powers he also found another useful thing, he found that anything a meter around him can be sensed by him, he could even sense the tiny dust particles within a meter radius around him no matter which state they are in.

Shawn didn't know how to describe it but it felt like any other of his five senses, now he has a sixth sense that is completely unique to him, and there seem to be many other things that his sixth sense is capable of.

First is of course detecting even the minute changes around a meter of him, this one seems to be like an active skill just like a video game, he has to focus to feel it but it also has a passive ability, whenever anything that can cause him harm, anything that moves very fast within his meter radius, or if his vertigo goes of balance, his powers would activate automatically which should allow him to avoid any kind of danger.

Just like when Jackson used his leg and tried to trip Shawn, his vertigo went off balance which caused everything to slow down around him saving him from an embarrassing fall.

He did many tests to prove that this passive ability exists and it's not just him spewing out shit theories from his ass. So first he decided to trip himself down the stairs purposefully, he walked towards the stairs and just jumped off headfirst towards the leaving room.

As soon as his body felt it was falling down, his power suddenly activated without him even trying, everything around him slowed down as if it was frozen in time, even his own body was floating in the air.

He carefully grabbed the railing next to him and straightened himself up and slowly placed his foot on the steps so that he doesn't break them. As soon as his foot landed, everything went back to normal as if nothing happened, time started to move for him again.

Next, he wanted to check if his power activates if he was attacked from a distance so he picked up a coin and went to the other side of his house out threw the coin towards the door at the speed of 3000 feet per second.

And as soon as the coin left his finger, he activated his power causing everything around him to stop in time, even the coin that is supposed to move as fast as a bullet is moving slower than a snail, he walked towards the door of his house in super speed and stopped using his power.

As soon as he stopped using his power, his power activated without him even trying to use it as he saw the coin just a meter away from him slowly moving towards him by every millimeter per second.

Shawn was really excited seeing this, he put his arm forward and decided to check something, he pinched at the coin at super speed, while the coin was moving very slowly, Shawn's own movement was just shy away from the speed of light so his two fingers pressing down on a coin made of steel provided no resistance.

The moment his fingers touched the rim of the coin, it felt as if he was pinching butter, his fingers just pressed the coin and folded it into half like paper.

This surprised Shawn as well, he knew he doesn't have super strength and he didn't know the limits of his body's hardness but now he has some idea, when it comes to raw strength he is stronger than a peak human but not at the level that can be considered super strength but his body is exceptionally tough, so tough that razor-sharp knives nor hypodermic needles can penetrate through his skin let alone muscles.

When he tried to squeeze the coin, he expected some resistance but putting all the factors together, Shawn suspects that his body is almost indestructible, and fusing it with his speed, he can almost punch through anything.

Time started to flow normally for Shawn again as he looked at the crushed coin in his hand, realizing the power he holds, Shawn felt troubled.

He is not a person with high morals who will use this power for good but he isn't sinister either who will abuse it, imagining someone with his powers who uses it for evil is quite a scary thought.

As he was staring at the coin in his hand, he smelled something burning so he looked down and saw his clothes were almost charred but his body still remained smooth and unharmed.

"How could I forget about it again?" Shawn questioned himself in annoyance, he quickly put on another pair of clothes and put the burnt ones in the trash.

Having nothing else to do, Shawn went back to his room and closed his eyes to sleep away.

Three days have passed and Shawn looks troubled, he is sitting on the living room couch as his legs are shaking rapidly in anticipation, he has a troubled and worried look on his face as he looks at the door every other second.

The reason for his worry is his mother, she has not come home for three days. On the first day, he didn't bother to check on her because sometimes his mother doesn't come home for a day.

Two days passed and Shawn got a little worried as she has never gone missing for two days but Shawn didn't want to assume the worse and thought that his mother might have just extended her stay wherever she is staying but it still bothered him that she didn't leave any message behind telling him that she won't be home, she has always informed him if she didn't come home for two days.

As for the third day, Shawn really started to get worried as this was not his mother, she might be a bad mother and irresponsible, she never made him worried about her and always informed him if she was up to something.

Having no word from her for three days, Shawn went to the nearest police station and filed a missing person's report, the police asked him some questions about his mother missing and why did he take three days to tell them.

One can file for a missing person's report after 24 hours so the police somewhat suspected him, Shawn also told the police everything about his mother and her habits and how she doesn't come home for a day and it was quite normal for her to not talk to him for a whole day.

The police came over to check Shawn's house and see if anything was missing from the house, seeing that his mother has taken her essential belongings like a phone and purse with her while leaving other things in the house, the police crossed out the possibility of her running away from home.

The police also checked her credit card info and found no activity on it for three days, they started to assume to worse and informed Shawn that things might be bad but they promised him to find his mother.

Right now Shawn can't do anything but wait, suddenly the doorbell rang causing Shawn to snap out of his state, he walked towards the door and opened it to find Marcus standing there

"Dude, how long has she been missing?" He asked. "Three days, I haven't heard anything from her, the police say that they will find her but I doubt it, I am really worried". Shawn expressed his frustration and grumbled while clenching his fist.

"Don't worry, I will help find your mother, I will hire some private force to look into her disappearance as well". Marcus reassured Shawn.

"Thank you". Shawn said while he was a little emotional. "No need to thank me, I am your friend, I will help you no matter what the situation". Marcus said with a smile. Shawn nodded his head and walked back to the couch and slumped down with worry while Marcus sat next to him and tried to console him.
