Chapter 28

Lucinda's POV

I watched as my vase filled with tiny stones flew across the room, just missing Lucian's head by an inch and shattering into millions of tiny pieces all over my floor.

Lucian's eyes widened in shock and looked between me and the vase. I picked up the nearest thing to me and aimed it at Lucian and he moved again.

Damn it!

My beige lamp shattered all over the floor but I didn't have time to mourn for it while I looked for more things to throw at him.

At some point all of my loose furniture had ended up on the ground and Lucian had started to work up a sweat.

I huffed in frustration at my inability to hurt him and decided to change my strategy. I picked up a chair threw it at him and missed but then it landed on my flat screen TV cracking it.

My eyes widened into saucers as my poor TV suffered the consequences of my anger towards Lucian.

I was just about to pick up another one when someone talk behind me grabbed the chair from my arms. I turned to glare at whoever just stopped me from expressing my anger and saw Dami.

"Mea Regina, what is going on here?"

"Do you remember the last words you said to me when you left two years ago?"

"Of course I do... That's why I came as soon as I could because I imagined this would happen"

I looked across the room at Lucian who looked like he wanted to be anywhere else than here right now. I wonder why he still hasn't left... The man can teleport.

Suddenly his facial expression changed to one of... Remorse?

"Don't look at me like that!"

"Princess... I really am sorry... I did say my surprises always come with a catch... Although I deeply regret this one..."

"This doesn't mean I forgive you but I suppose I can call a truce... For now... But know this. I will hunt you down Lucian Zephyr Morningstar and I will make you regret ever crossing me"

He visibly gulped and nodded quickly before he headed for the door and left. I sighed and pouted. I walked all over the broken pieces of furniture as it all crunched underneath my shoes.

I plopped on the couch with the biggest frown I've ever had in my life. I glared at my cracked TV screen and scowled at the fact that it was broken.

I was already two months down with this whole dating Chase nonsense. Now with the official reduction of four, I'm basically left with half a year.

Life is a piece of shi-

My thought process was interrupt by Dami plopping down on the couch next to and putting his arm on my shoulder trying to comfort me.

I groaned and shrugged his hand off but he just chuckled and pulled me into a tighter hug. With the scowl on my face I was worried I'd etch some permanent lines in my face.

"Smile, Mea Regina..."

I smiled for a second flashing my teeth then returned to my scowl. He huffed in annoyance and got up and went to my kitchen. I followed him like I lost puppy curious to see what he was going to do.

He started taking out a pot and boiled some milk in it. I sat on the island watching him intently. He got some cocoa out of the cabinet put some teaspoons into the pot and stirred.

"What are you making?"

"Damiano's special feel-better-stove-top hot chocolate"

He beamed proudly at me and I laughed. Does this idiot want to burn down my kitchen.

"The last time you were near a stove you nearly put the entire residents of Rock Skies Resort in the ICU..."

He shot a glare my way.

"Hey! I've been taking some classes and I've gotten pretty good at cooking..."

I looked behind him over at the stove where the so called 'feel-better-stove-top hot chocolate' was bubbling out of the pot. I nodded my head in that direction.

"You sure about that?"

"Oh shit!"

He quickly picked up the pot and placed it in the sink and turned the stove off. He sighed and put his hands on his hips.

"Let's go to Tia's"

~

"Lucy!"

The very boisterous staff of Tia's Café greeted upon my arrival. Dami shook his head and gave me a sideways glare.

"Can't believe they still do that..."

I rolled my eyes at his jealousy and sat at my usual table. One of the waiters, who's name I remember was Joan, came and asked whether I would like my usual but I opted for hot chocolate with a chocolate muffin instead.

Dami looked at me with a raised brow and I shrugged.

"You made me crave it..."

He dismissed it and said he wanted the same thing. After Joan left Diego burst out of the kitchen and came marching towards our table.

"Aren't you supposed to be packing for your trip with Mathias?"

I found it weird that I'd find him at work since Diego wants to be prepared for every occasion.

"Aren't you supposed to be my best friend?"

Dami looked at him with an incredulous look in his eyes.

"She was my best friend first..."

Oh God... Please don't tell me their going to argue about this again. It happened before and I was asked to choose between them but I just told them their both my best friends.

"Anyway... Did you plan on answering my question?"

"I just came to check if you were still on for tomorrow"

"What's tomorrow?"

I asked dumbfounded. Was there something I was forgetting?

"Remember... You said you'd go to the storage house to get those things for mom?"

Well shit-...

... With everything happening with Lucian and Dami I totally forgot.

"Uh sure..."

"Need some company?"

"I don't see why not..."

I picked up my cup of hot chocolate and took a sip savoring the warm chocolatey taste on my tongue.
