Lucinda's POV
Around two hours later we arrived at the storage house. I was surprised to see rows and rows of houses... All of them looking similar. The only difference was that there were numbers on the sides of them.
I looked at the key that Dee gave me and saw that it was number '118'. I got out of the car with Dami trailing behind me with a chocolate bar in his hand.
He handed me a granola bar and I gladly accepted it. Once Donavan had found a parking spot he and Chase came to my car. There were a few people here as well and across the street was a small shopping centre.
Chase came up to me and gave me another hug which I will admit felt great. Donavan looked bored and Dami was glaring daggers at Chase. He settled his hand on my waist as we entered the storage house district.
We were walking for a while because Diego's family storage house was in the hundreds while the ones at the entrance stared at one.
After finally making it to one hundred and eighteen I let out a sigh of relief before I realized we had to walk that distance back and now with a bunch of heavy boxes.
No wonder Diego didn't wanna do this... I wonder how his trip with Mathias I'd going.
I unlocked the door and entered the dark room. I searched the wall and found a light switch the flipped it on and it illuminated the whole room. It was filled with rows and rows of boxes on shelves all marked with a different label.
"Damn... Your family collects!"
"Yeah... My mom seems to want to keep everything because it's 'memories'"
I chuckled at his air quotes. Not a lie. Tia was a hoarder... But don't tell her I said that.
"So what are we looking for?"
"Um let me check..."
I took out my phone and looked at the text that Diego sent me last night.
"We're looking for Christmas decorations, family albums, Halloween costumes and Louisa's kindergarten graduation pictures"
"Since there's four on the list I saw we split up..."
"Sounds good"
We all separated and looked through different sections of the house... or more like unit looking at different labels on the boxes.
"Ayo Mea Regina!"
I turned around to see Dami holding and object in his hand.
"Do you remember this?"
I squinted my eyes to see what it was that he was holding and a feeling of nostalgia went through me.
"The Frisbee you won me that day at the pier! After Louisa smacked Dee in the face with a foam mallet... Can believe she still has this!"
"It's all in this box marked the 'Best of Lucinda'"
I walked over to where he was and saw the big box with the label. I began to dig through it finding multiple objects from the first time me and Dami met and the adventures we had together along with Dee, Lou and Tia.
"No need to interrupt this... family bonding but you guys are getting side tracked"
I sighed in frustration but realized Chase was right. I put the box back on the shelf and continued my search. After a while I found what I was looking for and took the box near the entrance.
While I waited for the boys to find theirs I sat down on a chair near the wall. I began to hear voices outside. One male and the other female.
They sounded like they were having a heated discussion before I heard a slight shriek and I rushed outside to see what was going on.
A man around 5'11 was talking... Well yelling at this brunette with a bob-cut in front of him. He had his hand firmly gripping around her bicep and she was trying to pull away.
I walked over to them to assess the situation and make sure that she was alright. I could hear their conversation more clearly as I got closer.
"Why won't you just listen to me!"
"Randy... Please let me go..."
"But you want to leave me..."
"Because you can't handle your anger! I can't live everyday in fear that you might hurt me"
"I would never hurt you!"
"You're hurting me right now!"
"But that's-"
"Hey Jerk! The lady asked you to let her go so please kindly oblige"
I interrupt their conversation and 'Randy's' eyes landed on me. My appearance seemed to shock him enough to loosen his grip on the brunette and she yanked her arm away and stood behind me.
"This doesn't concern you"
"Doesn't it? Because when someone asked you to let go... You let go"
"We were just talking... Weren't we Sasha?"
Sasha cowered behind me and I stood in front of her in a protective manner.
"Get out the way bitch!"
"Or what?!"
To say I wasn't expecting this was an understatement... Because I wasn't. Randy slapped me... Hard. On my face. Onto the ground.
After I got over my momental relapse I got up and kicked him, with my steel-tipped boots, as hard as I could, right between his legs.
He doubled over and fell onto the floor clutching his hands over his private while groaning in pain. Just as I was about to check on Sasha, Chase flew past me and landed a punch on Randy's face.
He kept going until Dami grabbed him off of Randy before he began his own assault on his face. I was the one to pull Dami off of an unconscious bloody Randy to stop him from killing him.
Dami wasn't thinking and could let his emotions take control of him. His demon side could take over and bash Randy's skull in.
Donavan finally came to help me and held Chase and Dami off while trying to calm them down while I looked to see if Sasha was okay.
She was trembling and curled up in a ball on the ground while her hands covered her face to look away at the carnage that was Randy's face.
Well this day turned to shit...
