"Be calm"

"Eh? Where am I?" Genric woke up and the first thing that he saw was a ceiling made of rocks. Since he just woke up, he was still a bit sleepy so when he saw he was inside an unfamiliar face, he was confused and when he turned his head to look around, he felt pain coming from his left arm making him look at it.

When he saw the state of his left arm, a look of realization flashed across his face and his body tensed up as all his memories from yesterday came rushing in his mind as he smiled bitterly, "Oh right. That happened."

Genric sighed as his face turned having a look of anxiety and fear on it. He was scared because of the new environment that he was suddenly thrown into without warning and knew nothing of it. Anxious because he doesn't know what to do and what will fate bring to him.

"Calm down, Genric. Getting anxious and scared will bring no good to you. What I need to now is what I do best, be calm.", Genric said to himself as he closed his eyes and took deep breaths to calm his emotions.

A few minutes passed as his body eventually loosened up and a look of calmness soon appeared on his face. He took a look at the cave's entrance and saw that it was still covered up. He released a sigh full of relief as he stood up slowly and walked towards it while muttering to himself, "Good thing no one came to this place while I was sleeping. If not..."

He shuddered when he thought of the consequences but soon forgot about it as he said, "Well no use thinking about something that didn't happen in the first place. Come to think of it, I wonder how long did I sleep and what time is it currently. I remember that when I was about to head back to the cave after gathering leaves, it was nearing night. Sigh* Does this world even have the same time as Earth?" Genric sighed again as another problem came up again. He hopes that the time here is the same on Earth.

When he arrived at the entrance, he pushed aside some part of the leaves covering and took a look outside. "It's a bit dark outside but it looks like its currently early morning huh." Genric muttered as he sat down beside the entrance and he gazed outside looking at the far away sky where the light of the sun can be seen slowly rising.

"That's good. I'll go out later when the sun has fully risen. For now I'll just organize my thoughts." Genric said to himself as he started to think of all the things that he encountered up to now.

'First things first is what happened to me. I think I was transported to another world like those fantasy novels I always read. And just like those novels, I can safely conclude that this world that i was transported into is most likely a fantasy world where magic exist because of so many reasons. For one, a fucking goblin exist here. Two, the atmosphere here feels a lot different than on Earth. The air here feels more clean, like there's something in the air here that air on Earth doesn't have. It's probably what they call mana or some other kind of energy.'

'In fact, if I remember correctly, the first time I was here, I felt my body was strangely heavy and uncomfortable. Maybe because my body was exposed to this 'mana' for the first time and it was adapting to it on that time. And now, my body feels more energetic, more than I have felt before.'

'Now comes the second and most important thing.' Genric thought as his face turned serious.

'Something is happening to me. My body feels... more powerful to say the least. I feel like I can easily kill that goblin now with only one hit on it's vital spot. Also...' Genric looked at this left arm and felt it for a moment as he said in his mind, 'I knew it. My body is healing faster compared to when I was on Earth.'

Ever since Genric could remember, he was never normal compared to others. His body always heals faster than others. What others would take a a few days or even weeks, to him it will heal in only 1 - 3 days.

'Also at that time, when I got angry at the goblin when it laughed at me, I felt different. When I was on Earth, I tend to get too angry when someone insults me. Every time I always managed to calm myself but I also felt like something was restricting my emotions and actions. This time though, it feels like that invisible shackle that stops me is finally gone. I felt more... free. Like something that was locked up inside me was finally freed from its restraints. Maybe that's why even though I felt strange when I did those ruthless things, it also feels familiar to me. Maybe it was a hidden side of mine that I didn't know until now. Sigh* Whatever it is, I need to look more into this. Like they say, "Know thyself, and know thy enemy, and you can win a hundred battles". I need to know myself so I can prepare for whatever's coming right to my doorstep.'

While Genric was contemplating, a ray of sunlight pierced through the cover of leaves, landing on his face and waking him up from his thinking state.

"Hmm? It's morning already?" Genric said out loud as he looked outside the cave to see that the surroundings is finally bathed in the morning light.

"Time to head out then. I need to find food and water. I'm so hungry and thirsty. After all I didn't eat nor drink when I slept last night." Genric stood up while patting his butt.

He removed the leaves covering the cave's entrance and took a step outside, preparing himself for today's adventure with a face showing calmness and full of determination as he said to himself. "Even though a lot of things is still a mystery to me, there is one thing that I do know. I need to survive. For myself. And for them."
