Eastland, Part 4

It was already dawn and the first light of the sun licked the horizon of the World, shining on an abandoned crypt.

The cemetery and crypt of a ruined city had been completely abandoned, grass and moss littering the endless maze of broken tombstones.

Only the upper part of the still intact stones was visible from the monuments of the deceased.

The high walls of the old great cemetery were now dilapidated. Full of holes. The once proud barrier that kept roaming thieves and the dead out, now protected nothing from anyone.

Between those stones, no movement was visible. The calm of the place was grimly unnatural, and that was because the dead could walk once more in the land of mortals if left alone. Kneading the dead in an area without proper supervision and constant cleaning with holy magic was also not a good idea. Such a thing ... was really possible in this world.
