RING! RING!—
Just as Xu Fang hung up with Lin Qiuwei, his phone rang again. Seeing the call was from Cui Yingying, he answered with a smile. "Professor Cui, what can I do for you?"
"Xu Fang, are you still liquid?" Cui Yingying asked, her voice a little hesitant.
Xu Fang cut straight to the chase. "Do you need more funding this month?"
"Yes. We successfully solved the last problem, but now we're facing two more big hurdles. We plan to tackle the largest one first, but it will require three billion in R&D funds!" Cui Yingying explained.
"If these two hurdles are overcome, does that mean the solar cells can be produced?" Xu Fang inquired.
"That's right. Once all the problems are solved, the technology can essentially be put into production. But because it's so complex, we can't apply it to all fields at once. My plan is to first deploy it in projects that have constant sun exposure, like the transportation sector," she explained.
