I shakily stood up, "Hello, I'm Katherine Martinez and I'm 25 years old. I applied for this job because-"
Should I be honest or should I come up with some noble reason to work with that asshole?
Mrs. Faux just sat there staring at me, patiently waiting on me to continue. I cleared my throat, "I applied for this position because this job pays good money and I'm currently in need of money."
I couldn't come up with a noble reason so I just went with the truth.
Honesty is the best policy...I guess.
She nodded with a stern face, "Ok, thank you for introducing yourselves. Now, please take out your notepad and pen."
Notepad and pen?
I looked around and everyone was taking a notepad and a pen from their bags.
What the hell am I supposed to do now?
I didn't want to look like a dumbass so I pretended to search through my bag for a notepad and pen. The plan was, I would pretend to search for them, then as an excuse, say I left them in my car, and then I would look for Hayley or Sebastian.
As I was searching, I found a notepad and a pen. My eyes widened and I was on the verge of screaming, Hayley, I love you!
Mrs. Faux spoke up, "An assistant should be able to take notes very quickly and efficiently especially during meetings with stakeholders or the board."
She cleared her throat, "I will be speaking at a steady pace and you are required to write down each word that leaves my mouth. Miss Dahlia will be writing as well so your notes will be compared with hers."
She continued, "This exercise will test your vocabulary, accuracy and listening skills."
I sighed, those are literally all my weak points.
Mrs. Faux started, "A perfect assistant is eloquent and carries herself or himself with pride and confidence."
She kept on speaking while I was stuck trying to remember if eloquent had a q or a c after the o.
She spoke for about 5 minutes and I tried my best to write as much as possible. I took a peek at Fabian's notepad and my eyes widened.
I looked from his notepad to mine, did she really say that many words?
Miss Dahlia came around and collected the notepads. I sighed, I definitely failed this round.
Mrs. Faux got up, "All that is left is the question and answer segment of this interview but as a form of motivation, Miss Dahlia will give you a tour of the office you may be working in."
Miss Dahlia brought us to a neatly decorated room beside Dylan's office. Sebastian came from a door that joined both rooms.
Miss Dahlia gestured to Sebastian, "This is Sebastian Danvers, you will be working very closely with him upon attaining the assistant position. He has served as one of Mr. Faux's assistants for 4 years, I believe he is best equipped to explain roles and duties to you."
Sebastian nodded and stepped forward, "As Miss Dahlia said, I have been in this position for a very long time so I'm well educated on the duties that come with this position, if you have any questions feel free to ask."
They all immediately swarmed him and bombarded him with questions.
I smiled, office Sebastian is so sexy. I looked around, I hope Dylan's office is soundproof, if I get this job I do no want to hear any of his sexual conquests.
"What are you thinking about?"
I slightly jumped and held my heart as I turned around, "Sebastian don't frighten me like that, my heart is weak."
He chuckled and wrapped an arm around my shoulders. I could feel everyone's eyes piercing through my back.
I took his arm off my shoulder and whispered, "They're staring at us."
Sebastian chuckled and went behind me. He wrapped his arms around my waist and rested his chin on my shoulder, "So what if they're staring?"
I tried removing his hands but he didn't budge, I whined, "Sebastian let me go."
He chuckled, "Or what?"
"I'll hit you where it will seriously hurt," I threatened.
I smiled in triumph as he instantly let go.
"How's everything so far?" Sebastian questioned.
I groaned, "Hell. I'd need a miracle to get selected for this position."
He chuckled, "I'm sure things aren't that bad."
I sighed, "I'm sure things are even worse."
As he was about to say something Miss Dahlia spoke, "Okay everyone this concludes the tour. We will now proceed to Mrs. Faux's office."
If I'm gonna redeem myself now is the time.
I got more and more anxious as our numbers diminished, Emily and I were the only ones left to be interviewed. Miss Dahlia came out with Fabian who sported a bright and confident smile.
I guess his interview went well.
He's actually the perfect candidate, he's a guy so Dylan will work more efficiently since he won't be able to flirt with him unless he has a gay side which I certainly doubt.
"Miss Katherine Martinez?" Mis Dahlia called.
I stood up, it's now or never.
I entered the beautifully decorated office of Mrs. Faux. She must love flowers and paintings, her office was thickly decorated with them.
She looked up at me, "Please have a seat Miss Martinez."
I sat down and instantly started babbling, "I'm so sorry about this morning, I didn't mean to..."
She cut me off by holding up her hand, "That incident is irrelevant right now, I have one more person to interview so let's try and get this done quickly."
I nodded, "Yes ma'am."
Mrs. Faux began looking through my resume, "Very impressive resume Miss Martinez but I don't think your qualifications are suitable for this department. Nevertheless, you gain experience from experience so you still have a chance to prove to me you deserve to get this job."
She squinted her eyes at me, "You greatly resemble a young lady that works in my company."
Great, she's talking about Athena.
"Are you related to Athena Benedict?"
I shook my head, "No ma'am, I get told I resemble her a lot."
She nodded, "You really do, almost like twins."
Mrs. Faux continued to skip through a file she had on her desk, "What is your relationship with Sebastian?"
I had no idea Miss Dahlia was such a chatter box.
"Sebastian is my friend ma'am."
She looked at me accusingly, "Just a friend?"
I slowly nodded, "Yes."
What the hell did Miss Dahlia tell her about Sebastian and I?
She then looked me in the eyes, "If my son asked you to have sex with him, would you do it?"
These were not the interview questions I was expecting.
Should I lie or should I be honest?
