I yawned and struggled to open my eyes.

They slowly adjusted to the brightness of the room caused by the sunlight coming from my...open window?

I quickly shot up from the bed but I was met with a hit to the face by Amelia's large foot. She was cuddling my legs and her feet were just a few inches from my face. Amelia groaned in her sleep and I barely managed to dodge another assault from her feet.

The wind slapped my face and I was forced to look at my open window again. It wasn't open when I went to sleep last night.
