"Never judge a book by its cover."

William frowned and the usual cheerful, goofy expression left her face. She looked down and clenched her fists, before looking back at me with her goofy smile, "No, why do you ask?"

Her smile was as bright as usual but her eyes were glum. I immediately regretted sticking my nose into what didn't concern me, "It's none of my business, sorry for asking."

I waved the card around between my fingers and tried changing the topic, "This actually feels pretty real."

William looked down, "They're not necessarily in an open relationship. Lucas is a sex addict so Dad really just turns a blind eye to all he does behind his back and in front of his face."

She clenched her fists, "I try to be open-minded like Dad but, I still find the whole situation very upsetting, especially since one of his favorite fuck buddies is my own mother."

What am I even supposed to say to her right now?
