"Lengthy elevator ride."

Dylan furrowed his brows, "What?"

I leaned against the elevator wall and played with my fingers, "I want us to be friends, but I can't be friends with people I don't or can't understand."

Dylan smiled and leaned on the opposite wall of the elevator, "What'd you wanna know?"

I scanned through the countless questions in my mind wondering which I should ask first. Dylan rose a brow and looked at me expectantly as I engaged in an internal debate with myself.

I finally made up my mind and asked my first question of our lengthy elevator ride, "Did you tell your parents about it?"

Dylan laughed, "Fuck no. My dad wouldn't give a damn, but my mom was already lecturing me on a daily basis about sex in high school, teenage pregnancy, and shit like that."

I'm sure all those lectures just went in one ear and back through the other.
