Warm feeling and Walking Corspes

Pain

The agony of feeling your body about to explode, couldn't be put in words. Vellomao's rapidly beating heart thumped harder than ever before, desperately trying to keep him alive.

The lack of air caused his vision to blurred as his consciousness began to fade.

' No, I'm going to die.'

Just as his vision turned black in the center of his chest, a warm feeling circulated in his entire body. Giving him just enough strength to survive just a bit longer.

This sudden burst of energy didn't last long as Vellomao felt his mind fade once more. However, each time that same warm feeling comes back a bit stronger than the last allowing him to stay awake longer.

' So warm.'

' Is anyone here?'

As the current dragged him further away from the cliff, the frequency that Vellomao met others decreased. But each time the warm energy flowed through his body, he felt he could feel other presences around him.

Vellomao would later find out that he was undergoing the process of awakening an ability.

One of the many reasons for the blood sea being a place where many people can awaken is the unique contamination that infects anyone who touches it.

Even immortals find it problematic to remain in the blood sea for too long as the contamination pollutes their immortal bodies and makes them mortals once again.

That warm heat coursing through his body is his soul that's fighting back the contamination of the blood sea.

This process will continue as long as his soul continues to fight back, entering his body bringing about an ability. However, if his soul isn't strong enough to withstand this process, then the only outcome is his death.

' Home?'

A crisp popping sound rang in Vellomao's head as a scene flashed across his head. It was a blood world and in the center was a heart each one of its thumbs would cause a massive ripple to form in the red realm.

The scene changed it was still in a crimson world, there was a fish-like creature with mantis claws laying eggs.

The scene changed as one of the previous eggs hatched turning into a small version of that mantis fish. It quickly grew up eating its siblings as its first prey, and other creatures.

It was looking at its latest prey that had a human-like appearance. As the human approached the creature it opened its wide jaw as it swam straight towards it.

' That's me!'

After Vellomao snapped out of his trance, he noticed that the human figure resembled him.

' If that's me, then down below is...'

At the realization, he hesitated to use his remaining strength to push himself forwards to exit that creature's path.

Just as it began to move, he saw that same creature rushing towards him at an astounding speed.

Luckily, he was able to escape the creature's sneak attack as it seemed to not intend to continue hunting him. It stared at Vellomao before leaving to find other prey.

Vellomao sighed in relief as he thought: ' That was close. Good thing I had that vision otherwise...' He stuttered when he thought about that person who was torn apart.

Unfortunately for Vellomao, the warm feeling coursing through his body grew cold as the excessive movements seemed to use all of his energy.

His vision rapidly started fading a feeling of weakness appeared in his body until finally, he fell unconscious.

His limp body continued to be dragged along the currents route as he passed creatures that could be told to scare children and other people that also survived.

After getting dragged along their currents until each one of them combined into a larger one. Taking them to an unknown place.

Few people have managed to remain conscious at that point, one of them being the Gong's tribes chief's son. His body was bloated as he struggled to stay conscious, as he had a smile plastered on his face.

Another one was Eliakim, as his eyes let out an odd glow as he stared at Vellomao and Hermione, who were also unconscious.

The last person was odd from the other two; this person was calm and showed no sign of struggling, just letting the current take him.

This person drew the attention of both Eliakim and Chief Gong's son as he was the only person from a large tribe.

Even though the sacred ceremony was a big deal for all tribes, only two large tribes came to the cliff. As the blood sea was massive, there were other locations where the sacred ceremony was conducted.

Once all the currents combined, there was an immediate change as powerful pressure appeared that attacked their very souls.

This time even the strange man from the large tribe fell unconscious alongside both Eliakim and Chief Gong's son following as well.

At a beach that connects to the Blood Sea were the tribe's members that hadn't gone into the sea.

Chief Manu stood upon the sand that seemed to have been charred black waiting with patients as he looked at the chaotic blood sea.

Soon a single red bundle appeared swaying with the crashing waves as it slowly approached the beach.

One by one, more of those red bundles or more accurately, blood cocoons surfaced and landed on the charred beach.

No one dared to get close to these cocoons as the contamination from the blood sea was still on the cocoons.

The first one that surface began to thaw and get absorbed into whatever is in the cocoon. After a minute, what appeared was a headless corpse that had flushed skin from the absorbed blood.

The headless corpse started to jerk and trembled soon it began to stand up.

" What a shame, let's do this man justice and allow his body to join the blood god. This man's tribe members should do the honors."

A skinny elder came forward from the crowd, probably that deceased young man's tribe Chief, slowly walking towards the moving body. The elder shed a tear as he snapped his fingers.

A spark flying towards the corpse from the elder; as the spark touch led the corpse, it rapidly caught on fire, turning to ash within seconds.
