The Chief Is A Very Ruthless Man

Not realizing how loud he was, Vellomao voice reached the ears of the small tribe. Each one of the tribe members stared at Vellomao with bloodlust in their eyes.

Yet when they heard the blood cocoon open they quickly withdrew their gaze. This time the blood cocoon wasn't filled with a corpse but someone alive. It was a middle aged women wearing black cloth that matched her follow tribe members. The middle aged woman was short but had large muscles, her scars also made her muscles pop.

Seeing that one of their tribe members survived, made the tribe burst out in joy. The cheers of the tribe members seemed to have woken up the woman. With her eyelids fluttering, she had a blank look on her face before tears streamed down face.

Seeing the tears, her follow tribe members knew that they were doomed. The middle aged woman had failed to awaken even though she survived. They could sense the hunger of the larger tribes watching them.

Watching this all happen the Chief, also showed interest in annexing this tribe. They weren't capable of producing a Warrior but an increase to their tribe numbers means they could support more children. More children meant more chances to produce Warriors to strengthen the tribe.

It wasn't easy for the Manu Tribe to get this large. It took several generations to slowly increase their numbers for one Warrior in the tribe to a whopping 80 awakens. The reason it takes so long is that death rates for tribe members were high. They needed to fight against monsters and beasts that could easily fight toe to toe with Warriors. Death was common place in this world.

What happened for this small tribe was most likely all their warriors were killed during a hunting down a monster. Now with no warriors in their small tribe they could only come to the blood ceremony to get another awaken to become a strong Warrior.

As for what truly happened to this tribe was of no concern to the chief. He was only hoping that they could annex this tribe before others do. To do that, they needed to follow the ceremony's rules of annexing tribe.

The rules were very simple. For a tribe to annex another tribe, they must issue a challenge to that tribes warriors. Once a challenge is sent both tribes will send their strongest warriors and battle.

On the occasions that one tribe lacks any warriors, the other tribe must send their newly awakens instead of their warriors. Along with issuing a challenge, the tribe with warriors must also slay at least one of the other tribe's undead to show their interest.

"Poldi and Eliakim go challenge that tribes fighters." The Chief barked orders at them.

Poldi and Eliakim instantly understood what the chief wanted and were interested in testing our the powers. They walked under the gaze of several hundred other tribes and loudly said, " I Poldi (Eliakim) of the Manu Tribe issue a challenge to this tribe members."

"Sigh..." An old man the seemed to be in his sixty's sighed before he looked at Poldi and Eliakim.

"If you want to annex our, Gigante, tribe you must fellow the rules. Help us take care of our dead and send them to the blood God's care." The Old man pointed the staff in his hands to the two corpses that started showing signs of movement.

Well aware of this, Poldi and Eliakim walked over to the rising two corpses with haste. Seeing the plump red body's of the dead Gigante's tribe members up close, made Poldi and Eliakim felt sorrow for the Gigante tribe imagining that this could have been them.

"Wait we the Golden tribe also issue a challenge." Suddenly in the distance, Vellomao turned to see a medium sized tribe with its members all dresses head to toe in gold assortments shoveling other tribes out of the way.

"I guess that we aren't going to be able to annex this small tribe so easily. "Vellomao said to himself.

Vellomao wasn't the only one who had the same thought, but he was the only one to say it out loud once again drawing the attention of the other tribes.

"Vellomao, were not going to have trouble." Feeling the chief's strong hand touching his shoulder, Vellomao knew that the chief was planning something.

It didn't take very long to know what the chief's plan was, as once the Golden tribe issued their challenge. Poldi and Eliakim launched their attacks at the only two corpses.

Poldi's arms expanded twice their size as his red skin released hot steam from his sweat evaporating. With a quick few punches his corpse was pounds into a bloody pile of meat and bones.

Eliakim was just as quick and brutal, his eyes shined a golden light on his corpse, turning it into stone within a few seconds. With a swift kick, he turned the petrified body into pebbles. Once he stopped shining his golden light, the pebbles turned back into flesh leaving disgusting sight to behold.

By the time the Golden tribe were able to arrive with their challengers and reach the tribe. They were left with only the two piles of meat from the slayed undead.

"You pieces of shit! " One of the challengers of sent by the Golden Tribe sent a death glare to Poldi and Eliakim.

But their was nothing they could do. With both undeads slain, they could no longer show their interest in annexing the Gigante tribe according to the rules.

Poldi and Eliakim both ignored the death glares that the Golden tribe members sent them as they were just following the rules. How was it their fault that they were too slow? They were just trying to give the two Gigante tribe members a quick relief to the blood God.

"Holy Shit, how is anyone supposed to fight these two monsters? Chief, your a ruthless man!"

While most people were showing interest in the conflict between the Golden tribe and Manu Tribe, Vellomao was more interested in Poldi and Eliakim display of their powers.

With how overpowered their abilities were at the beginning stages of the Warrior path. Vellomao felt that he really understood the difference between those who awakened vs those who haven't.

It was a difference that couldn't be made up with martial arts or being skilled at hunting. Poldi and Eliakim brutal and quick ending of those undead felt like something that experienced warriors should only be capable of in Vellomao's mind.

Even though he saw Hermione use her power briefly just a few minutes before, the power she showed wasn't on the same level of impossibility as these two.

Take Eliakim as an example from what he should his power is that he could turn people into stone by simply looking at them. How does anyone defend against that? He is a real life Medusa. If his powers are this strong what will he be capable of when he's older and further into his path as a Warrior.

The thought of how strong warriors were truly were sent a shiver down Vellomao's spine. He felt that this world was much more dangerous than he thought. The death rate among their tribe members, including warriors, was still very high. There was various reasons for someone to due in this world, and dying without knowing the reason why was very common. That was why even though birth rates were high, their tribe only had a population of a hundred plus.

When Vellomao turned to look at the Chief standing next to him with the same stern face as always. He felt that Chief didn't feel that their powers were overpowered at all. Yet thinking back to his memories of the chief fighting those giant demons, Vellomao felt that it was reasonable.

Even though Vellomao was just trying to shows his admiration. He once again drew the ier of the Gigante tribe and the golden tribe as they felt he was making fun of them.

This was especially the case with the Gigante tribe. They were still grieving with the reality that they were going to be annexed by another tribe losing their Tribe name and identity forever.

Yet this prick, who looked like a twig, repeatedly poked at their sore spot as if he was trying to provoke them.
