The problem

Sitting in the corner of the classroom, Tsukiya ran his hand through the forehead. He was a first year Japanese language student, who wanted to complete the college and teach Japanese to the kids in the primary school in his hometown. But he never thought there will be this much hurdles to pass. The class will only start in the next 30 minutes giving him more than enough time to think about the reason for his headache.

Tsukiya's POV

If I don't find enough money I will have to stop college for now. But how long, mama will never be able to pay for my college. Though I somehow got a scholarship it doesn't cover the living expense. Part time job at the cafe gives enough money for food. But what about the rent? It has been a week and I couldn't find a cheap place.

I can't stay with aunt Yua any longer. Though she didn't say anything, I can't stand her boyfriend anymore. What a crappy guy? If my mother's only sister (aunt yuan) didn't like him, I would have killed him already. He is living with the money that aunt makes. Never went for a job, but ate like a pig. No, not exactly. No-one can eat like a pig, but I just don't like him.

Ohhh...what is wrong with my stupid brain? I'm supposed to think about a cheap place to stay.

Should I just ask the broker to search again? He says it can't be any cheaper. Only option left is to share an apartment with someone else. Then there will be someone to share the bills. But who is there? I don't have a girlfriend and there are no guys so desperate to stay with me.

What if I just give up everything and go back home? This is all new to me. I don't even know if this is for me.

Suddenly his phone rang, making him to snap out of the thoughts. It was his mother. "Mama, why are you calling early in the morning"?

"Tsukiya, are you alright? Where are you"?

"I'm in the classroom. My class will start by 8.30".

"Ohh okay. You still have another 30 minutes. I was so worried about you. I had a bad dream . You were back in the village. But instead of working in the school, you were with me in the field. You know son, I was horrified. I never wanted to work like me. I want you to be happy ". She began weeping through the phone.

"I know mama. Who said I'm going to work in the field? I will finish college and teach in the school. Just wait until then".

"I know... I know.... But if anything gets bad, never think of coming back. If you need money ask me. Just stay there whatever happens ".

"Okay mama".

He abruptly cut the phone.

"So now going back is no longer an option. But what about the rent? It is not like she has extra money to send me. Oh God! Should I just sleep on the streets?"

"Hey, Is this seat taken"?

Tsukiya looked at the blonde guy standing next to him. He doesn't look Japanese. He had eyes with the colour of sea and a bit of moustache and beard. He was wearing a black T-shirt with the ripped jeans. He looked like he is out of a foreign magazine. The guy smirked as Tsukiya continued glaring him.

"Heeeeeyyyy..... Can I sit here? "

He asked again. Tsukiya snapped out and nodded at him. The guy sat next to him.

"Hiii... I'm Aiden".

"You don't look like a Japanese person ".

"No I'm not. Is that an issue? " The guy told smiling
