CHAPTER 16: A HAPPY ENDING

Catherine opened her eyes and saw a familiar ceiling above her head.

She was stumped for a moment when she saw a familiar figure standing anxiously by her bedside.

Catherine had often imagined what Jane would look like if she wore royal robes.

It was a fantasy she had since little, now that she saw her she felt that the original was definitely better than her illusions by a million.

'Wait!'

'Hadn't she died?!'

She remembered her last bit of life force getting sucked away. It was painful and the process of dying slowly wasn't something she enjoyed. Each time she attempted to break into the whirlpool much of her life force would be consumed. She persevered though because at the center was her sister.

She loved to enjoy life and didn't want to die but she could not abandon her sister. It was too much for her.

'Very well! I will die after saving her then!' Catherine had been very resolute regarding this decision. She did not regret it in the least-she was content.

Catherine slowly woke up.

"Good that I still have my limbs intact."

"Still I had imagined that heaven would be different. What a disappointment!"

She grunted coldly without seeming to notice the look of bewilderment on their faces.

"Right. This is heaven indeed Sister!"

Catherine abruptly looked at the figure standing quietly at the side.

"Sister! You died too?"

"What a waste! What did I up my life force for huh?!"

Jane was having a good time looking at her little sister with pouty lips.

"Well whatever, now that we are both dead let's loaf around forever."

"Ahem!" A man was standing at the doorway. It was Ray.

"You died too!"

Ray could not help it and said, "All of us are alive and well. We did not die neither did you Princess."

"Everybody is fine."

Tears started to trickle down her face. She asked in a choked voice "Then, then this is all real, we are alive."

Ray: "You're crying to know we're all alive huh. Seems that you harbor ill intentions towards us."

"Hey I am your commander! How dare you speak to me like that!"

"The Queen had told us everything."

"...…"

"You have the arrogance of a leader though."

"Shut up!"

Jane looked at the duo bickering in front of her. She was happy. For the past one week Catherine had lain unconscious in front of her. She had felt helpless for the first time and did not know ever know that she cared for her sister to such an extent.

Jane would be lying to say that she was not grateful. She was truly grateful to have met her.

Jane was happy.

She felt that this ending was favorable to everyone. It was truly a happy ending.
