The sun set high above the land as the clanking of metal broke threw the silence of the clear field.
'Fuck! I can't get caught!' A few spears flew past the trespassers face as she drove for the red painted line on the ground.
"Ha! Try to get me now without being killed ya bloodsucking idiots!" The trespassers took off her hood.
"Princess Amber!? Why would you risk dying to cross over here?!" A guard spoke out, recognizing the princess.
"I dont have to tell you shit! Now later losers!" Amber ran off deeper into the new land.
"Damm it, she's been getting over here way more lately." Another guard commented.
The vampire guards turned around and started back to the castle, away from the dragon lands. Once they were brought to their king, all four of them fell to their knees in respect.
"Let me guess, it was that pesky dragon girl again right?" King Luna's red eyes burned as he stared at the guards.
"Y-yes your majesty, she snuck away again. We are t-terribly sorry." The guards nelt more, terrified of the king. However instead of bursting out in rage, all he did was sighed and stood up.
"I want you to find out what she's taking, understood? Find it, and have your men guard it. Don't kill her though, we can't afford to have the dragons wanting war too. You're all excused." King Luna sent the men off with a wave. Once alone in his thrown room, he felt a par of arms slither around his stomach.
"Honey, you didn't get angry? I'm so proud." The sweet voice made Luna smile as he turned to look at the short woman who was hugging him. Her long black hair complemented her rare, blue eyes. She was around five feet tall, and her fancy dress always made her look like a doll.
"Well thank you." Luna said with a chuckle.
"Have you seen Roy darling? I called for him, but he hasn't been in the castle all day."
"Don't worry Lucy, I'm sure he's just in the forest. You know he enjoys the animal's company more than any vampire." Lucy held her husband more as she giggled.
"Mhm! That's our little Roy."
Deep in the forest of the vampire lands, it always seemed like it came from a fairy tale book. The sun's light broke threw the trees in streamers of glowing light, while the birds always had a song to happily sing. At the base of a large apple tree, Prince Roy sat in its shade.
'That girl was here again, this time I was able to see what she had gathered.' Roy thought with a small smile. Next to him was a homemade basket he had made. In it was multiple rare flowers that were used for powerful medicine. Along with fresh berries that were overpowering in sweetness, which happened to be the Prince's favorite. Roy had always seen who he called "the girl in the hood", and today he finally wanted to talk to her.
It was true, he didn't like talking to others, but that was because Roy found vampires boring. Everyone treated him like the best thing ever, it sucked. For once he'd love someone to give him some attitude.
Then he heard it. The distant panting coming from his left side. 'Show time' he thought. Quickly Roy grabbed the basket and climbed the tree. He head in the leaves as he heard the panting coming closer, soon there she was. Her long and red hair peaked out of her hood as she frantically looked around.
'Where is it?! That book said those flowers would be-' Amber's thoughts were cut off when she heard a thud behind her. Quickly she whipped around ready to run when Roy's eyes met with hers.
"Well hello there, I am Prince Roy, of the vampires. Who might you be young one?" Roy bowed with a grin as he offered to take her hand.
'Who the hell does he think he is? He sees someone trying to steal from his land and wants to kiss their hand? This dude has a few screws loose.' Even though her thoughts were against it, Amber gave the stranger her hand. Doing this made her cloak shift and exposed her shoulder, allowing Roy to see a beautiful display of gold and black scales.
"An honor to meet a dragon." Roy softly kissed Amber's knuckle before letting her go.
"Yea yea, thanks I guess. Now what do you want. I'm trying not to get captured ya know." Roy could feel the scowl Amber was sending his way, which only made him chuckle.
"Well, I seem to be the only one who noticed."
"Noticed what?" Roy revealed the basic, causing Amber to let out a small gasp.
"You have been collecting rare plants from my land that don't grow in the hot soil of the dragon's land. I believe you're after these lastly right?" Amber quickly and carefully looked threw the basket.
"Yes actually! But these berries are new to me, why are they here?" Roy chuckled again
"Thought you might like a treat. I know you must be getting injured threw your mission." Roy looked at her arms and saw bandages along with new scars.
"Yes well, it sucks when the skin that gets hit is the skin without scales. Anyway, what do you want for the basket pretty boy?" Amber could hear guards getting closer, sending adrenalin threw her body.
"Well, promise me you'll visit some time?" Roy smiled, causing Amber to groan in annoyance.
"Really? Ugh, fine. I'll visit tomorrow night. Now if you don't mind, this is the second time today your idiots of a guard team is chasing after me!" Amber snatched the basket.
"Good, deals a deal. Later my mysterious madam." Roy jumped into the tree as Amber rushed off. A laugh bubbled in his throat as the guards stopped near the tree in confusion.
"Where did she go?!" One guard yelled in frustration.
"She's probably going toward the border again, after her!" The team started to run again, leaving Roy alone with his amusement.
'Dad really did get the sturdiest guards on this job.' Roy smiled to himself as he jumped threw the tree's toward the castle, satisfied with how his interaction with the dragon went.
'See you soon~' Roy thought.
