Brief History

The Kingdom of Maharlica (KOM), also called the Maharlican Kingdom, was formerly known as the Republic of Maharlica. Before it became a monarchical government, it was a republic first.

The Maharlican Kingdom is a Southeast Asian country located between the Maharlican Sea and the South China Sea. In Asia, the kingdom was named 'Turtle of the East', because geographically, its land formation looks like a swimming turtle, and because economically, its economic development is painfully slow like a turtle.

When it was still a republic, the country was one of the most underdeveloped countries in the whole world until the late 1980s. The poverty was extreme and political corruption was abundant. Fortunately, it slowly developed in the mid-1990s and became a developing country. Up until this day, Maharlica is still developing.

There are a lot of factors why the country is struggling. Some could be named as:

(1) Lack of capable leaders;

(2) Unfair distribution of wealth; and

(3) Graft and corruption.

By being a weak nation, Maharlica has been a target of imperialism, and gigantic nations have tried to destroy its independence. Luckily enough, the nation has maintained its independence up until the present day.

MAH

Mah is the official Maharlican currency and is used all over Maharlica. It is denominated in coins, and 100, 500, and 1,000 bills.

GRUNA MONARCHY

The beginning of the Gruna Monarchy marks the end of the republican history of Maharlica. When Mirando Gruna led an insurgency, it resulted in the end of the office of the last Republican President of Maharlica, who was Alejandro Canosa. Mirando then established his own monarchical government and rose on the throne as a ruler.

Many different versions were written in history books about the turning point in Maharlica's history. Some books said Mirando saved the country by proclaiming himself king, to secure the country's independence. However, many books have said that the rise of Mirando to the throne was the starting point of Maharlica's hell. He was ruthless, authoritarian, and was nothing but an absolute ruler who only cares about himself and the royal family. They said, ever since Mirando became king, there was less justice, but more crimes. And it's still getting worse until this very moment.

And many historian articles and blogs have been clashing for more than twenty years debating about what really happened.

But which stated the truth? Which should you believe in?

SOMA

The Soldiers of Maharlica (SOMA), is a mutiny founded to work against the Gruna Monarchy. Soma is like the modern Robinhood. They steal and then distribute what they stole to the needy.

But up until the present, its existence is still unknown to the whole world. But they could come up to your door and ask you to join hands with them and fight for justice. But would you? Would you betray your king and become a Soldier of Maharlica? Do you have the courage to?
