Rein lifted his sword along with it's sheath and threw it aside. He grabbed his bag strapped around his waist and flung it towards Lark and Vilson, it flew with a degrading trajectory and crashed just before Vilson's feet. Vilson shook back because of the anonymous content of the bag. With a puzzled look he said, "what is this?".
"He'll heal the wounded," replied Rein looking at approaching Heath.
The bag wiggled and the ropes on the top enclosing the bag loosened, out popped a hemispherical head with black feathers tightly packed.
"What is that," said Vilson with eyes squinting and eyebrows contracting, focusing on the bag.
Lark nodded his head in a neglecting way gazing at what was about to come.
"Aw shit! you didn't have to throw me," said a voice from the bag.
With a sharp twitch the bag opened completely and out came a penguin of small stature, padded feet and a small beak.
"A Penguin!" exclaimed Vilson and Lark.
Lark looked at the new appearance then at Vilson with eyebrows curled and jaw dropped.
"Stop looking at me," said Vilson just as surprised.
"Okay, quick explanation" said the penguin cracking his neck and advancing towards the two with his small feet.
Penguin: I am a penguin, and I can heal anyone from any type of severe injury, even life threatening. "If it's not dead already then it shall live" is my policy.
"That's it!" exclaimed Vilson and Lark.
"That's what is necessary," replied the penguin with a grave expression. [but kind of cute] [cause it's penguin]
Penguin: Look here's the deal your friend over there with burning hairs [pointing his flipper at Heath] have been taken over by a higher being but not to worry my partner is stronger, it will probably take twenty minutes to bring him to his senses. But during that time, we'll have to deal with the lesser beasts, like the one over there [pointing at Nord] eating your friend's leg.
"Oh, shit Nord!" yelled Vilson as he saw the lesser beast eating at Nord's leg.
"Wait, wait a second I am not finished," said the penguin.
[Both Lark and Vilson started running towards Nord]
Vilson while sprinting took out his bow and made an action to grab the arrow from his quiver, but instead grabbed thin air for he had run out of them a while a ago. He then put his bow back and started to sprint at increased throttle clutching out a sharp dagger from his waist, just as he was about to reach the beast a spear came zooming and gored the beast, killing it instantly. Vilson while continuing on his path looked back to find out that it was lark who threw his spear and was just behind him sprinting.
"Hurry," said lark.
They both reached there simultaneously and saw Nord ripped from his abdomen, bleeding profusely.
"What do we do," said Lark.
On hearing lark's voice, Nord who was still conscious opened his eyes.
"It didn't hurt," said Nord.
"How can it not! you're all torn from your waist down, why didn't you defend yourself," said Vilson.
Nord: [in a fading voice] I cannot feel my body from my neck down. It's probably paralyzed after fighting that giant. So, it didn't hurt.
"You moron," said lark with moistened eyes.
"Listen to me you two, [heavy breathing] the most important thing, [heavy breathing] I am not good at running" said the penguin as he came running with his short feet, completely out of breath.
"Hey, you can heal right, you said you can heal anyone as long as it's not dead. Heal him, heal Nord. He is barely alive." said lark in a requesting tone.
[penguin taking deep breaths]
"Why should I," replied penguin with pressing expressions.
Vilson: Didn't Rein send you to help us.
Penguin: Rein? You're saying his name as if he is your friend.
The atmosphere became tensed.
Vilson: [stoked at penguin's remark] What do you want?
Penguin: Assistance.
"Assistance?", said Vilson with a puzzled look.
"Rein and I need to get into the building at the center of the village," said penguin.
"The capital?" replied Vilson.
[Nord coughs blood gaining attention of the bystanders for a few seconds]
Penguin: Yes, if that's what it is called.
Vilson: But why? [confused look]
Penguin: That is none of your business.
Vilson: You can go there on your own if you want.
"No, there's a barrier in between," replied penguin.
"What barrier are you talking about," said Vilson in a irritated voice.
[Lark intervened looking at Vilson]
"Stop!!" yelled Lark, "Nord is dying, we don't time for a conversation."
[Lark looking at penguin]
"I'll help you, to get into the capital, " said Lark, "if that's what it'll take you to heal Nord."
"I'll be taking you up for your word then, you better keep it," said penguin as he waddled towards Nord and touched his shoulder.
A white light enveloped Nord's body and healed him completely.
"What just happened," said Nord as he stood on his feet and took a look around his body where the injuries were.
His clothes were ripped covering enough parts as to not cause embarrassment.
"Who healed me," asked Nord.
"That would be me," said penguin.
Nord looked around to find the voice's owner.
"Down here," said penguin to make the search easier.
[Below pointed Vilson with his index finger and annoyed expressions]
Nord looked at the penguin and sat down on one of his knees, keeping one of his fists on the ground and the other one on his other half bent knee.
"Thank you, Sir, for saving my life," said Nord, showing respect to someone about one fourth of his stature.
"Finally, some manners," said penguin as he climbed his way on to Nord's well-built shoulder, slipping mid-way wiggling his little feet, on which Nord assisted him to mount his shoulder.
Penguin: Now, I would really like to talk a little more but the ten-foot giant over there [pointing at the anomality] is getting on his feet again, so I would like you to run as far as possible and keep me safe.
The anomality started to get on his feet after Rein had wasted him.
Nord: Looks like someone thrashed him.
"Yeah, Rein did," replied penguin.
"What should I call you sir," asked Nord in the politest way a seven-foot giant could.
"Penguin, is good enough" replied penguin.
Nord: Sir penguin, it looks like you have great healing abilities.
"Yes, I do," replied penguin.
Nord: how fast can you heal shattered bones.
Penguin: In the blink of an eye, why?
Nord: Torn limbs?
Penguin: same. Why do you ask?
Nord: Then I request you, if you would be kind enough, please keep healing me as I combat that exceptional beast.
Penguin: Yeah, sure. Wait what?
"Please take care of the lesser beast Lark, Vilson" said Nord, he thrusted towards the anomality covering the area in between in almost an instant, with penguin swaying on his shoulder.
