"Ves, lay it on me, what do you got for our situation here?" Arthur asked looking at the warehouse before him with a calculative gaze as his slivery eyes glowed subtle neon blue in color.
"Three Model-Tsetse Series-C Scouting bots identified, Grade averaging 30-35,
Cybernetic Enhanced human identified.
Probable cybernetic enhancement: Thought acceleration.
Mod Grade: 45
Identity: Elite Black-hound guardsmen
Name: Unknown"
"He's one of the black hounds huh, no wonder his name doesn't come up he might as well be a puppet then," Arthur said his tone laced in disdain.
"You stay here, I'll take care of this I wouldn't be requiring your assistance" Arthur stated to Jennifer.
"Oh, I wasn't going to offer any sort of assistance anyway, so you're good," she said with a cheeky smile.
Arthur looked at her for a second and then shook his head as he chuckled and said "Good, I'll be off then."
"Good luck out there," Jennifer said as she rose up carefully from hiding and started walking towards the other direction leaving the place.
"Let's get to work then" Arthur announced as he raised his gauntlet-equipped right arm and extended it straight aiming straight for the warehouse, he waited for a second, and then his lips curled into a smile of satisfaction as if he got what he needed. just then as if on cue a small compartment slid open on his gauntlet to reveal uniformly placed minuscule red cartridges of ammunition when he closed his right palm, they all launched off within a fraction of a second and homed towards the three scouting bots and the guardsmen while emitting a low whistling sound as they tore across the air and struck squarely on the surfaces of the three bots.
As the guardsmen snapped out removing his gaze from the device on his hands to the scene in front of his eyes, his facial expressions contorted into a deep frown as he muttered out unconsciously "what in the h- "
Right when he was about to complete his sentence, he watched taken aback seeing a figure dressed in a black-hooded outfit rush towards him. Anger soon surfaced on the guard's face realizing that the figure in front of him must be the reason behind his bots being attacked as he lashed out "you! thieving street scums! One after another" he said with a scowl on his face.
The eye on the mechanical side of his face lit up in dangerous red color, as he watched the world around him rapidly slowing down a bit, now he could see Arthur throwing a punch straight for his face while his Black gauntlet let blue electric sparks as they crawled across its surface in slow-motion.
The guard smiled seeing this change as he leisurely moved his right hand and caught Arthur's punch as if he were catching a ball as he smiled widely upon his success, with mockery apparent in his tone he said "I'm gonna bury you here."
"That's very nice of you" Arthur chuckled leisurely as if he weren't worried about the fact of his right hand being held tightly by this burly man at all and with quick succession he jumped and placed his legs right over the guard's chest and kicked to propel himself away from the guard, as his gauntlet came loose from his hands and stayed on the guard's hand.
The guard overcome with anger falling prey to Arthur's slipper maneuver was about to shout and activate his ability again however he was rudely interpreted by the mechanically beeping noise from his left hand only to see the Black gauntlet letting out furious electric spurs that enveloped almost his entire right limb, the guard's countenance grew grave fear slowing crawling upon his barely distinguishable facial muscles.
The gauntlet burst out in flames with an ear-splitting noise, the explosion covered two meters of radius surrounding the guard, as only his cybernetic parts of his body survived with substantial damages while the rest of his body was charred and burnt beyond recognizable.
Utilizing the window of opportunity he created by the explosion, Arthur without stopping even for a second made a quick beeline towards one of Scouting bot and grabbed ahold of it using his left hand still equipped with the gauntlet, he yanked it and thew it towards the another, they collided into one another and exploded in flames leaving only the third bot intact which he dealt with by removing the left gauntlet as well and throwing it towards the bot, securing the third bot's demise as it crashed down on the ground caught in the explosion created by the gauntlet.
Seeing the last of his trouble crashing down in flames, Arthur breathed out in relief as he inhaled and exhaled deeply within his mechanical Black mask.
"Well, that was fun," Arthur thought to himself as he started walking towards the warehouse entrance, there was a gaping hole right beside the entrance because of the wall getting caught in the range of the explosion by the gauntlet held by the guard.
Standing in front of the hole, Arthur thought out loud "Hope the consignment this time, is worth the price I paid." As he looked at his hands feeling a bit bitter about sacrificing his gauntlets
He pushed his bitterness to the back of his mind and jumped in the hole as he entered the warehouse.
The warehouse seemed abandoned and worn out, there were only a few empty boxes in series of columns, as he walked forward in he started hearing muffled noises, which Arthur followed after and with a few more steps he encountered a room without doors and at the corner of it lay a teen with the most notable thing about him being his bright red hair and his golden cybernetic arm, a piece of mechanical equipment that kept his mouth closed and a few more restraints on his legs and arms he was left in a defenseless state.
Seeing him like this Arthur chuckled and questioned "Is that thatcher? what a shame to be left in a pitiful state like this."
Thatcher seemed to be embarrassed by his facial expression as he glared at Arthur when he passed comment on his circumstance. Not giving much thought to his glare Arthur moved closer to him and removed all of the restraints and released him from his pitiful state as he said, "Didn't I tell you to collect detailed information before taking any job."
"Other than the fleeting rumors there wasn't much information for this job, but I collected whatever I could it all seemed too vague."
"Just admit you were blinded by Python's offer," Arthur said annoyed by his excuses.
"I will not deny that statement but… I just thought it would not be a big deal at least that's what I felt from python's proposal" Thatcher said while scratching the back of his head embarrassedly.
"You are going to die, early Thatcher," Arthur said sighing out as he continued.
"Anyway, where's this precious consignment all I can see are worn-out empty boxes."
"Now that's where I come in, I saw where those hound bastards hid it, it's not surprising you didn't find it because they hid it pretty deviously," Thatcher said with a proud look on his face as if his time to shine has come.
"Whatever, you aren't getting a cut just so you know" Arthur shot him down with his stale tone.
"Eh. It's a-alright… I owe you one anyway" Thatcher said with a slightly pained look on his face.
"Good, now show me where it is" Arthur stated.
"Alright follow me to the back entrance of the warehouse," Thatcher said as he led the way forward, with that without wasting time they both made their way towards the back entrance of the warehouse, where a hulking truck was parked halfway in the warehouse while the other half spanned all way outside.
"There's a hidden compartment in the floor right below the truck, so let's first move the truck out, and then we dig in," Thatcher said with excitement apparent in his tone as he moved closer and stood on the left side of the hulking truck and placed his Golden cybernetic arm on the truck as they let out golden electric sparks.
with a crazy smile on his face, he pulled his arm all the way back and pulled forward bringing forward tremendous force as he slammed right on the truck's surface, as it bent, shook reeled back in the direction he slammed it with, just the front portion of the truck reeled to the right-side revealing lines that converged to form a rectangle on the floor with a split running right down the middle of the rectangle dividing it proportionally.
Arthur looked on with an intrigued look on his face as he questioned "If they were guarding it till it was going to be delivered why bother going through this much effort of hiding it, instead of rushing to deliver."
"I'm not so sure about it either, didn't I tell you the whole thing was vague from the information I got, but I heard whatever's in there was supposed to be delivered to an upper echelon of a corporate, you know how it is with those guys devious little fucks" Thatcher said while pausing to answer Arthur.
"Let's just find out ourselves, what so special laying in there," Thatcher said shrugging his shoulders. As he went ahead and placed his cybernetic arm right in the slit that divided the rectangle and lodged his fingers in between it and pulled open on the right side and did the same on the left to reveal the compartment holding.
an all-white capsule-shaped pod, which had this glossy premium surface with golden series of various undistinguishable symbols that ran along here and there on the surface of the pod, size of this whole cabin-like thing amounted to the size of a small car. The surface of the pod wasn't transparent so the people looking at it from the outside could only use their imagination to state their curiosity of what's the inside be like.
"Woah, it looks gorgeous but what does it do?" Thatcher thought out loud as he placed his hands on the top of the pod.
"Is this supposed to be some sort of life support equipment?" Arthur asked curiously as someone who's gotten quite interested in machinery and the methods of making them. His interest was certainly piqued at the moment, and it was even more so when he gazed at the indistinguishable golden symbols on the surface of the pod.
"Meh, I don't know… I only know how to use these stuff, not make them unlike your genius self, why so impatient you are the one who's going to keep it anyway, so take your time cracking open this puppy" Thatcher said with a grin on his face seeing Arthur being so interested in the object before their eyes.
"Yeah, you are right I'll take a look at it after a nap" Arthur said lazily.
"As a sweetener for not being a pain in the ass and saving me, why don't I drop it down your workshop meanwhile you can go take your nap" Thatcher offered.
"Appreciate that and be sure to be careful, I don't want a single scratch on it, understand?" Arthur said out loud as he made his way out.
"Aye-aye captain" Thatcher chuckled.
