Jake didn’t move from his spot on the grass patch where he had been sitting for well over ten minutes, his mind barely registering all the information that had now been given to him from Accalia’s mind.
“So this… the sickness, has it been going on long?” Accalia regarded Jake with a concerned expression, but answered his question nonetheless.
“A few months at most,” was her reply, “Amoux said it began in the deeper parts of the woods.”
“Lifeld said that too,” Jake said as he tried to piece together scattered puzzles, “He’d said that… they had gone too deep into the forest and found it- he made no sense when he spoke, I thought it was just the words of a sickened beast but-“
“But what if he actually meant it, if we can find the source of this, we can destroy it where it festers,” Accalia was quick to her feet, but Jake stopped her before she could go any further.
“Accalia wait, I don’t want you going anywhere near this thing.” He told her strictly, she only chortled at him.
